While the Internet has provided us with many wonderful resources, it has also led to a tremendous change in the intensity and early exposure to extreme levels of sexuality.
I think hollywood is just as if not moreso responsible.
Re:Blame it on the Internet
I agree totally StripperTips! But not only do I blame the media (ie. Hollywood, T.V., magazines, radio, ect...) I blame parents first and foremost. I always have always will. If you have kids then it's your responsibility to raie them and take care of them. If you have kids and don't then it's your fault we are in this situation now.

i think i need clarification on what exactly you want opinions on... Life in general is more risque due to internet porn? Or why has the bar been raised in strip clubs?

Teenagers who, in my generation, would sneak peaks at Playboy or Hustler at the age of 13 are now (and often before that age) sneaking peaks at orgies, bukkake, etc. It has all become too easy to find this information and it raises the bar considerably.
In order to compete, video games, movies, magazines, and life in general seems to have had to shift along with it. That includes strip clubs.
I'll definitely agree that one simple business principle applies - that guys won't usually spend money on something which they can get somewhere else for free, or the variant that guys won't spend the same amount of money if they can get more "bang for their buck" for the same price somewhere else.
I do agree that the internet set a wind of change in motion in regard to increasing the generally accepted levels of sexual themes in US media. This trickled down to sexy fashions, and to more sex in "teenage" culture over the past 10 years. Of course, many of those "teenage" boys and girls are now old enough to be dancers and strip club customers, and their entry into the business has definitely affected it.
But I would also argue that the "conservative movement" has had just as profound an effect on strip clubs, via the law of unintended consequences. Where anti-dance club ordinances passed within the last few years were intended to counteract increased sexual contact in the clubs, what they really did is to gradually "criminalize" exotic dancing in general i.e. lap dances, titty tips etc. Because the legal penalties introduced and fines charged for doing full contact lap dances or taking titty tips began to approach the same levels of seriousness as violating prostitution laws by giving HJ's, BJ's etc, these ordinances actually provided an unintended incentive for clubs and dancers to become 'dirtier' than ever (since dancers and clubowners essentially have nothing additional to lose legally speaking and a lot to gain financially speaking).
Then of course once one club becomes 'dirtier', the "more bang for the buck" law of supply and demand begins to affect nearby clubs even if those other clubs aren't directly under the jurisdiction of an ordinance.

Yes.
