What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
Ok so we have had lots of posts about why some of us dislike Bush, so how about we let the Pro Bush people explain the reasons they like him so much.
I want to understand why some here support him and his policies. I promise not to bash those that have the guts to explain their point of view in this thread and I hope my other anit-Bush people will refrain fom doing so as well.
Lets give them a chance to explain their side :)

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
1. We don't have to pay to have him moved out of the White House and pay to have someone else move in..
2.We don't have to count the silverware for another 4 years.
3. We won't put all of the comedians that do Bush imitations out of work therefore increasing the unemployment rate that will reflect poorly on the democrats.
4. He is still in office and therefore gets all of the blame from all of the democrats on what is wrong with the country and closing the strip clubs in Houston.
5. Kerry's wife's Heinz catsup empire is not distracted by politics. So McDonalds burgers still taste good... yum
6. Re-electing Bush won't cause stress and upset Cheney's delicate medical condition
7. It gives Al Gore time to lose weight and get ready for 2008
8. It gives John Kerry time to buy the Miss Manners book on etiquette and learn to be courteous to people.
9. He sent me an autographed picture and I need time to let it increase in value before I sell it... hmmm. Hope I still have it.
10.I like have a Bush with a Dick in the White House..
Sorry, I had to let it out. ;D I'm sort of on both sides with these two.
Since there are a lot of Libertarians on this board, we Libertarians need to get together and figure out what to do..

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
I think it's a gross misinterpretation to automatically assume that anybody actually 'likes' GW Bush. To me it's more of a case of choosing the shitpile that stinks the least. From the least of the evils standpoint, I think that the republican financial agenda of continued tax cuts and limited growth of restrictive and expensive government regulations on business will leave more money in people's pockets ... money I'm hoping they'll spend at strip clubs and tax cuts that won't reach into my personal pocket quite so deeply.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
arrrrrrrrrrrg, melonie? short term fix is all you care about? grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
The Republicans have always demanded higher pay for the military, and since my hubby is in the Marines,I can't go against that. The Democrats cut military pay as a result, our health benefits suffer also.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
i.e. stay out of my life and spend my money like it's mine not theirs.
I agree with Melonie. Neither candidate is one I would die for. So the lesser of two evils it is.
Therefore, I will sell my Florida vote for sex.. Who will sacrifice for their country... and put their .... where my mouth is? LOL. Well O.K. maybe a hug...a nice word. how about don't hit me?

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
I assume you've read my previous posts, so apparently I'm willing to suffer to get Bush out of office!
I'll be voting in New Jersey, and I know Kerry will win there (of course I'm voting anyway), but then with Jeb still being governor, my immense sacrifice could be all for naught.

For want of a nail, the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe, the horse was lost. For want of a horse, the rider was lost. For want of a rider, the message was lost. For want of the message, the battle was lost. For want of the battle, the war was lost. All for the want of a nail.
That's what everyone assumed last time...
"Bush would have won by 493 votes if Supreme Court hadn't intervened. More Floridians wanted Gore, but thousands botched their ballots." St. Pete Times.
I just don't want to hear any complaints in November if he loses by one... ;D
And to defend my honor, no suffering involved... it's usually described as bliss.

No ! Actually I have a very important longer term agenda, but it's a bit convoluted.
If Kerry is elected in 2004, he will most likely be re-elected in 2008 thus the presidency will be "locked" until 2012. On the other hand if Bush is re-elected in 2004, because of the two term limit the 2008 presidential election will be wide open. Since modern day political losers are never given a second chance to lose again (i.e. Al Gore) the #1 person likely to slide into the 2008 election campaign as the democratic presidential candidate will be Hilary Clinton, whom I will wholeheartedly support.
Why would I do this ?
#1 to get her the hell out of New York State before she does any more damage to our economy ! ( if she can't be voted out at least she can be voted up )
#2 to hopefully siphon off federal tax money paid by residents of other states back to my home state of New York in the form of 'pork barrel' appropriations

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
ok, so thats a midterm outlook. and for all the wrong reasons too. oh well.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
am I understanding this correctly Melonie.....
ur reasons are totally about money ? Are there other reasons by chance ? Anything to do with healthcare or education ?

Anything to do with healthcare or education
Health care boils down to money (i.e. redistribution of income via taxes). Education boils down to politics (i.e. massive bureaucracy, where actual teaching is a secondary consideration)
Presently, the only persons in New York who have really good health care are government workers and welfare recipients, and I don't plan on becoming either one (even though I'm charged a 9% NY state income tax to help pay for theirs, leaving me barely enough to pay for my own health insurance out of my own pocket).
On the flip side, NY state spends over $7,000 per year per student on public education, yet 1/3 of NY high school graduates can't really read or reason. I'd consider becoming a teacher because of the great benefits, 3 month annual vacation, and very decent pay scale, if only the odds of being assaulted or shot by students weren't so high !

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
do u feel Bush has a good plan to improve healthcare & education? If so, how is his plan better (in ur opinion) better than Kerry's ?
-

Good plan, no - better plan than Kerry, yes. Bush's "plan" would result in less money being picked from my pocket via income taxes such that I could afford better private health insurance and I could afford to send my son to a private college !
-
Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
Hmm.... i find that interesting since middle-class tax cuts are a large part of Kerry’s economic plan. He pledges to cut middle class families’ current tax levels in order to make things like college more affordable.
maybe u fall into the upperclass economy level, which would likely lose the tax cuts they have now if Bush is not re-elected.
How would Bush being re-elected benefit the middle and lower economy groups, which make up the majority of people in the US
The Bush economic policies have left states with nearly $90 billion in budget deficits, and have forced cuts to higher education budgets, resulting in higher tuition, increased class sizes, and cuts to counseling, tutoring, and remedial coursework.
I don't follow how that helps education- can u help me understand this ?
Kerry says he will provide a credit for each and every year of college on the first $4,000 paid in tuition.
I am wondering does Bush offer anything to the middle and lower economic groups in his education plan that is similar or better ?
-
Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
Hmmm, why I want Bush back in office? Let's see the only real reason is 'cause I think Kerry is the antichrist, and I'm trying to do everything I can to stop the Apocalypse; well at least till I'm too old to care anymore....
No seroiusly, i didn't like the way Bush won the last election but I'm glad he's in office now. I would much rather have a "hangin' Texan" in office during war than well you know...
But if it comes down to Bush and Kerry I'm just going to "throw" my vote away again and vote for Nader again.
THIS WILL SOUND RACIST BUT IT IS MEANT AS A JOKE SO PLEASE TAKE IT AS THAT! I AM JEWISH SO I FEEL I CAN SAY THIS AND NOT BE CONDEMED FOR IT TOO MUCH.
The reason I am voting for Nader again is cause he can bring back a better economey for our nation. Have any of you guys ever met a broke Jew?! (That was the joke part)
Sitri, I knew I like you for a reason, besides your angel.
After all, a fallen angel is still an angel.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
The U.S should not be a welfare state. Any candidate who thinks citizens are entitled to a government of free health care and free education should never be elected. True, Bush has spent much on these things but if Kerry was President and had his way you can open up your wallet because he wants to take more. If you want a better education go to a Private School. Better Health Care, pay for it yourself. If you cannot afford to feed your children then you should not have any children and I should not have to pay for educating or for the health care or for food stamps of the children of someone else. In fact, for the best education: Home School. Public Schools are the biggest rip-offs the world has ever known. I would vote Libertarian if I felt the Libertarian Candidate had any chance. I do not want the hand of Government taking my Money, I would much rather have so I can put that money in the garter of a pretty Dancer who just gave a fantastic Lap Dance. Those are the Women who should get money.

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
then sgt, start voting libertarian. a vote for bush is a waste of a vote. you're just selecting someone you said doesn't fit your political ideals. why are americans so fucking stupid?

Well, he could very well be the first president to be assassinated while in office, since JFK. And, for Sitri...having an assassinated President would probably make an autographed pic priceless.
The more I think about it, the more I think that we should let the Bible thumpers take over SC and have it bombed while Idiot W is giving one of his mind-numbing speeches.
On another note: I was at the mall the other day and there was a poster with Bushisms on it. Inspirations, they called them. One was "A strong America means strong Americans." Yep, that was inspirational...and worth the .15 it took to print that on a piece of paper. I weep for the tree that was killed to make that idiotic poster. :D

Re:What are the reasons to want Bush re- elected ?
I haven't seen one good reason so far why bush is the man for the job. I have seen Melonies possibility that Bush in office may help out her cash situation, but that's about it. And that is really the only reason people do vote bush, because he helps the top 5% and fucks the rest of the population.
I would have like to seen reasons like "I like bush becasue he allowed his logger buddies to cut down the last temperate rain forest in tognass national park, Alaska." or "bush relaxes clean air policies for his oil billionaire buddies allowing the quality in his home state to be the worst in the country, and lower air quality for everybody". What the fuck good is a few extra bucks in your wallet going to do it we have no oxygen to breathe ??????
