Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Well I havent heard of any of the ones you mention except for hustler.I was there for jazz fest in 2002. I worked at ricks the gold club and hustler. Ricks was the nicest and gold club second but I feel money was more easily made at gold club even though it is not as busy as the other two.But I actually averaged the same pretty much at all three so any of those would probably be good and scarlets is the same as the hallendale one so it might be o.k. too.My friend told me it just oppened in na.Summer is slow so I wouldnt expect big money, even during jazz fest you could make 700-900 a night but it was like pulling teeth, lots of young guys and not many suits and ties in na.Good luck.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Gold Club, they really take care of you there and not as much competition like Ricks Cab. I heard Sracletts is ok. I always made money at The Gold Club.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I luv Tempations... it's done in the old N.O style and things were a bit more easy going there meaning not so crazy as say Rick's
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I had to check out the strip club while I was down there. I'd have to say GOLD CLUB hands down. Clean. Friendly staff. Girls were on the floor, not sitting around together, not drinking. They were on the floor, working it, making money.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Ive danced for ten years, seven in N.O.GO TO THE GOLD CLUB!!!!!!!!The other clubs will gouge with their exhorbant house fees. While I was working there,I went home with no less than $800 a night. The staff are friendly and cattyness is not nearly as high as the other clubs. They will definately take good care of you.Tell Mrs.Lori(housemom) Asia said "Hi".
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Hey there. I hate to burst your bubble, but New Orleans is NOT the place to go to make money right now! You're probably better off in Pensacola. It's hot as hell in Louisiana at the present time, so the tourists (what little of them there are) are cranky and sweaty. This is the SLOW period for N.O. Between July-September there are no conventions = no money! Trust me!
But, if you must go...
Visions is the most consistent club because it's not dependent on tourists. It's in Metairie, an outlying area. Some girls who come in are allowed to work the very same day, others (usually if you're not up to snuff) are put on a schedule and there is a booking delay in order for management to work you in.
Visions requires a lot of stagework, but it is WORTH IT!!!! Men who sit by the stage are required to tip, and they do. There is also separate lapdance where you can also make $$. Management is ok; they are good about regulating what goes on in there. There is no VIP. I know it sounds a little crazy, but this is a good club. Lower milage than pretty much any of the Bourbon Street clubs.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Thanks so much for all the input. Please keep it coming. What a hard decision. Trust me- money has got to be better there. Making $300 on a Fri night here is pulling teeth and I can't take it anymore. Im getting neaked for crying out loud. Plus- Pensacola honors this thing we call a DOLLAR DANCE. It sucks and I refuse to go on! lol. Thanks again and please keep it coming.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I have to agree with the other ladies - I too, work at the Gold Club and I have loved it, but RIGHT NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GO!!! There is no money anywhere because it is summer, it is hot, and there are no conventions. You might make about $200-300/night if you're lucky.
You also have to think about spending money to stay in a place while you are in New Orleans, unless you have friends you can stay with.
Everywhere is slow right now.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
P.S. Scarletts is really really really skanky. For god sakes, the girls go right out in the street to get customers. HOW TACKY IS THAT!!!!????
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Well, when I go, it is to the Gold Club or Temptations or Hustler.(previously known as Maiden Voyage)
I don't like the set up at Ricks and have never been to Scarletts.
Conventions... Was there on June 1 for a convention and there is a big Cisco networking convention on July 12 lots of nerds with money. Business is steady in conventions. You might want to call the visitors and convention bureau and check the up-coming conventions.
Hey, I found the link below....
ESSENCE FESTIVALS, LLC 07/02/04 07/04/04 50,000 attendees.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
FYI: Essence Festival SUCKS! I worked it last year (@ Temptations) and made all of $45! NOT WORTH YOUR TIME! Like you said, you're getting naked for chrissakes!
I have not personally worked at Scarlett's, but I will vouche for the fact that the girls DO go outside of the club to wrangle in customers. Yeah, trashy. It's farther down Bourbon than the rest of the clubs. A coworker of mine worked there, and had a huge arguement with the managers. She made it sound like they're not easy to get along with. The club's plays primarily techno, so if techno's not your thing, brace yourself.
A club I do not know much about is the Crazy Horse Cabaret. It is not associated with the Crazy Horse of Las Vegas fame. They have TV's, and the angle is more sports bar with a splash of strippers. I dunno about you, but when I work, I wanna be the center of attention. You might check this one out for the hell of it. It's in a decent location on Bourbon.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Kelly don't listen to the negativity, it does not matter if there is a convention or not. If you know how to work it you will make money. This is the first time that I have worked in NO been working for about 3 months here, the worst time of year, lol. If you are fresh and have a good attitude and friendly they will spend. When everyone in the club is bitchin about how slow it is I'm out there making money. If your mind is in the right place then you will make money any night of the week, good or bad time of the year. (whatever that means) It's all up to you. GOOD LUCK GIRL!!! :)
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I agree with sm1spcl,don't let the negative vibe bring you down.As far as the Essence Festival goes, that is the worst time of year to work.I tried one year and left in the red.I had to borrow money to pay for parking.Don't let other peoples' bitchin' get you down.Besides, dancers bitch about everything all the time anyway,HAHA!GO TO THE GOLD CLUB!!!
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
you've got some nerves!... I know who you are........
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Are you the muffin (wo)man?
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Who is the muffin person?I don't get it.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I heard Scarletts was the club where girls with tattoos are allowed to work...
true?
friends and I are road tripping and would like to go New Orleans but as far as I know i cant work anywhere down there but the scary clubs...
hmmm....
let me know...
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Hustler is the club that allows tats.Depending how many you have and how big,you should try to cover them up and work at classier clubs. There's at least quadruple the money to be made at those.I danced in N.O. for seven years.I know that scene very well.At the "scary"clubs, you will get harrassed because the type of guys that go to those clubs are on the mental side,to put it mildly.Good luck to you and have a safe trip. You can ask me more questions if you need to.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
I have been to Scarletts and had mixed feelings, just before the Mardi Gras. Did not like the guy in the toilet asking for money. Did not like the many bodyguards roaming around. The girls sit together and ignore you. The servers are more friendly than the dancers. Girls try to sell you stuff. Did not like cameras in the private boots and TV showing porno movies. They have private rooms upstairs for 150 an hour but I think is a rip-off.
I only liked one girl Jennifer, she was friendly and bought many dances from her. She told me she travels or lives in Chicago and Durham.

That time of year is just like that. You should go in the fall for a much better experience.I mean it.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
Private rooms for $150 an hour are the low end of the price scale and I think that just covers the room rental without the dancer's fee even.
Re:NEW ORLEANS- Please Help
ops! my mistake......150 per 1/2 hour.
Anyway...its expensive when I can go down the street and have a full service at the OMP for less.
..... :-\.....yes I know.....no class!

$150 for a half hour? That's not that bad.
At The Gold Club there,it's $250 for a half hour but that includes both dancer and room fees.
