WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
About 9 months ago I told myself that I had to change my life. My weight was increasing, I had high blood pressure, and had no 'get up and go". My weight was around 270 pounds.
About 6 months ago I bought some dumb bells and started to do some workout with those. Some weight came off, but not to the extent that I had wanted.
So I started going to my apartment complexes Gym and do cardio and weights every other day. Results have been great. I am now down to 208 (actually was as low as 202 but starting to go back up, Im hoping due to muscle mass buildup). My 9 month story has seen me drop from 270 down to 208 by watching what I eat, drinking more water, working out, and keeping a good attitude.
I don't think that I have quite felt this good in nearly 3 years. I actually have energy and I actually look forward to working out on my workout days!
Oh yea, pant size has gone down from 40 to 36 and she's still going down.
I still have an overall goal of getting down to 180 (my old military weight) so I have a ways to go, but so far I have witnessed some great results.
I realize that I don't know most of you around here, and that I am still a comparitive 'newbie' by many standards, but I also consider you all friends here. I just wanted to share what has gone on.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Re:WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
I'll interested in losing some weight too. What were the major diet changes you made? I feel like I don't have the time or energy to change what I eat. I settle for whatever's fast--pizza, wal-mart waffles, doughnuts--stuff I really shouldn't be eating. Got any tips? Also, what did you do in the gym? I tried doing a bunch of cardio at the beginning of the year and it didn't get me anywhere--I got really frustrated and quit.
It's great that you're doing so well and I, personally, appreciate hearing of other people's success. Makes me think I can do it do. I tend to lose hope really easily so I need to find things to inspire me. Thanks for the inpiriation!

Re:WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
Welp....eating I went with the following. 1st, no Atkins. You can loose the weight by eating right. I usually have a large breakfast, as that is the meal that you can burn off the easiest. Lunch, I have something where my intake is around 200-300 calories, like a Lean Quisine or chicken Salad or somethink like that. For Dinner I will go with Chicken and Rice, or Stir Fry, or I even sometimes have a SubWay sandwich (6"). For Dinner I try to stay away from something large and just have something small. When your cravings hit (and they will hit) have a glass of water. Overall in a day I would say that I have around 60-80 ounces of water (add blood pressure pills to that......and I spend a good portion of the day in the restroom heheheheh). I found that Water is my new friend. I stay away from Soda (But will have one maybe once/twice every two weeks) and only drink on occasion.
In the gym I usually start out with Incline Press (rep of 12, 12 ,12) then go to tricep press (rep 12, 12, 12) then to Bicep curls (rep 12, 12, 12) and then to leg extensions (rep 12, 12 12 on each leg) and finally with some crunches (usually around 75). I do this at a pretty good pace moving from machine to machine to keep my heart rate up. Once I am done with this portion of my work out, then I move over to either the Eliptical treadmill or regular treadmill, doing a 12-13 minute workout. I try to match a 1.15 mile speed, with the last .15 being a faster pace.
SCGirl, I will say, if I can do it, you can do it. The first couple of weeks were the toughest for me, keeping on the regiment. But now, I think about what I do, and keep my goal in the back of my head.
One thing that really helped on the first 30 pounds, was putting a sign on my door in my living room. That way every time I walked past it, I always saw my target goal.

Re:WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
I feel like I could use some body toning myself. I'm pretty much at the same weight I've been for months (around 190 lbs.) but since I stopped doing weights and concentrated on walking and dance classes it seem like I look chubbier. So I'm almost certain to take up the weights again :-\ and continue with the walking as an aerobic alternative.

Re:WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO
Ya know....I think that it has helped. Although I am on Blood Pressure Meds now for life (Doc actually says its a good thing), I have found that I can easily 'come down' after getting pissed off with things. Hell.....a work out is good in itself to get those agressions out :)
I would say to everyone who is thinking of getting on the workout wagon, Do it........you will feel so much better in the long run
And thanks for the words of encouragement everyone.....messages like this only drive me harder :)
THANK YOU!
