CRYING
I just came inside from sitting outside and talking to my girl for hours about a lot of shit that happened to me in my childhood that really bothers me and has caused me to have a lack of self-esteem and lack of self-confidence. I was often hit as a child and even into my teens by my father and told I would end up in jail and I was a loser by my father.
I really never exposed these feelings and emotions to anyone before, even my girl who I have been with for almost 4 years. I got very emotional and ended up crying, which I haven't done in years. It really felt great and I feel a lot better. I reccommend anyone who has anything on thier chest to talk to someone and just let all the shit out, and all the emotions and tears will flow. I really feel ready to move forward in my life and not let my past negatively affect my future, which I have really big plans for.

Re:CRYING
I also let it out and usually end up crying!! It is a great emotional relief for me too!!

Re:CRYING
(((Ryan))) So glad you got that out.
I'll guess you're going be a great daddy. Every parent makes mistakes, and every child tries not to repeat them. Naturally we end up making our own.
Anyway, it's good that you're shoving the bad into the past where it belongs.
Also, that you could open up to your gf like that says so much. Gawd I love romance. =)

Re:CRYING
Mei, what fabulous HAIR. Ryan, I think it's great that you get you feelings out. Many more men should. Sorry about your early life. Although not being hit a lot, I have experienced extreme verbal abuse. It can be a difficult thing to rise above, but you sound like you're doin' it. Self esteem & confidence are big things I try to work on.

Re:CRYING
Good for you Ryan....glad you're feeling better. Sometimes getting all that stuff out is the only way to move foreward.

Re:CRYING
You feel it, then you cry about it, then you work to put all that useless crap behind you and make yourself the person you should be. It's a long, tough journey, but the effort itself makes it worthwhile.

I so agree it's a real grieving process.

Re:CRYING
Good to hear Ryan.
It is amazing how talking with someone you care about, can help you get things out, off your chest. I have a great girl I can talk to about anything and know that she will be there for me also.
Sounds like you got a great girl there.

Re:CRYING
Odd, I've found repression works pretty well for me, at least the last 25 years anyway.
To each their own, I guess.
Two cents.

Re:CRYING
Once in a while the dam has to break.
The most important thing is that you actually seem willing to move on from your past AND are willing to take the necessary steps to do it.

Re:CRYING
Good for you Ryan! A lot of people, men and women, keep their issues bottled inside and don't acknowledge them. That's great that you are able to talk and to feel your pain. You can move on and heal. Crying and talking are great releases. Writing also works well for me even if no one ever reads what I wrote.
If you can feel it, you can heal it!

Re:CRYING
Ryan,
Im sorry to hear that all that happened to you as a child, but I am glad that you let it out. This always helps relieve stress not only by crying itself, but because you have been holding back all those memories...
Im glad your gf was supportive and that you feel better.

Re:CRYING
It does the soul good to cry even for men. I have cried a lot and I'm there when my friends need to cry. I'm that guy everyone calls or stops by to talk to. I'm lucky I guess to get to help them out. The bad thing is their not always there when I need them. Right now things are going great but in the not so far past I have really needed someone but I had to keep it all to myself and that is when it really hurts. A lot of times I just talk to myself and it really helps. No I'm not crazy I can calm myself down as well as I calm down my friends.
