VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Hey y'all, I read Meea's post and started to think about this. The other night at my club these three fellows wanted a private party for a half-hour, four guys and three dancers. We don't have private rooms, we do VIP dances [basically, lap dances] in booths. So my manager put a couple of chairs together in two of the booths. He charged the customers $200 and the girls each got $30. Luckily, one girl said "ya know, we work just for tips" and got them to tip us $50 per dancer, and one guy liked me and gave me an extra $20. So, I made $100 for the half-hour, but theoretically I should've only made $30.
What kind of fees would another club charge?
BTW, VIP dances are $20, dancer gets $10, so in my opinion, if a guy had just bought dances for 30 minutes I would've made $80-$100.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Damn, that sucks. My club charges $250/half hour(club gets $50,$475/full hour(club gets $75).So we make $200 half hour,$400 full hour.I'm sorry but your manager should definately rethink the VIP costs for the benefit of the dancers. You are putting yourself alone in a room with a strange guy.You should definately make enough to make it worth while.
Oh,I forgot to mention,the $200 and $400 is PER dancer.Not everyone.
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
We weren't exactly alone, more like just in a corner of the VIP room, but still within sight of the bouncers and cameras [everyone, really]. I just didn't think $30/half hour was really worth it, I could've made that much during a ten minute stage set that night.
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Even though you may not be alone, you are exclusive with that customer for that time frame, you should get compensated handsomely becuse that customer is taking you away for a little while so you should at least have the guarantee of actually making that money(because you could be on the floor selling dances). They are paying you for your time.Better make it worth it.

Luna, I just want to be sure I'm understanding you correctly - your clubowner charged all three guys $200 total for 1/2 hour of private time, and then gave $90 to the three dancers involved which then had to be split 3 ways ? Or did your clubowner charge each of the three guys $200 for the half hour, then pay out $30 to the dancer and keep the remaining $170 * 3 = $510 for the club ?
Knowing that you dance in upstate NY, I assume it was the former. If so, then the clubowner actually paid out the standard percentage of about 50% to the dancers (technically 50% would have been $33.33 per dancer). The error here of course was that the clubowner grossly undercharged the customers for the 1/2 hour of private time. On the other hand, the club really didn't have a true champagne room/private room to offer them. The clubowner should have realized that 30 minutes worth of private dances would have netted each dancer at least 8 dances * $10 per dance, and should have charged each guy at least $160 just to "break even" with the standard private dance pricing.
Even in second tier clubs downstate which have actual private rooms available, clubowners have set pricing for this which is more realistic compared to lap dance prices/dancer earnings. For example, one guy spending $200-$250 would typically get 20-30 minutes of private room time with one dancer in a second tier downstate club, with the dancer getting to keep at least $150 of that customer's $200-$250. Of course, in a first tier downstate club, pricing would be much higher than this, with the club also requiring that the customer shell out for champagne/drinks in the private room (of which the club would keep the entire amount charged)

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Knowing all of this, I will never dance in NY.
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
I was just thinking the same thing. Luna, that manager was an ASS and totally screwed you girls. Nice that the one girl got the guys to tip you so you at least broke even for the time spent. If I'd been given $30 from some asshole manager to dance for 30 minutes I would've simply refused.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
We have a champagne lounge here. The cost is $250/half and $500/full hour. We keep it all and at the end of the night tip-out 20% to the Champagne Host.
When we have groups of people taking up girls, they pay PER girl, the above rates. Going into VIP/champagne lounge, the girls get their money, in full and in advance.
For $30, your club manager ripped you all off majorly. ESPECIALLY if he charged the guys $600 (for 3 girls) for the 1/2 hour. Next time, make sure that you have the facts straight (and your money in hand) BEFORE you do the VIP. If it will be another situation like this one, tell the customer/manager "no".
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Luna Maiden - Just my opinion, but I think you got ripped by your manager, but at least you were able to get $100 for the half hour.
Costs for PRIVATE Champagne Rooms....
The club I go to most often charges $130 per 15 min ($100 to the dancer, $30 to the club). You get a free drink with each 15 min or a bottle of champagne if you do the full hour.
Most of the other clubs I'm familiar with sell either 30 min CR (No Drink) or 60 min CR (Bottle of Champage and sometimes cheese & cracker plate). These clubs typically have three fees: 1) Fee to the club for the room ($50-$100 for 30 min, $150-200 for 60 min), 2) Cost for the Champagne (min of $50 but can go up to $600), 3) Tip for the dancer - She can usually set her own rate but can run anywhere from $100 to $1,000 depending on time, and how busy it is. So all in on avg. you're likely to spend $250 for a 30 min CR w/o dink or $500 for a 60 min CR on a slow night with a cheap bottle of chapagne.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Oddly enough, this topic was also on my mind for some reason. I was under the impression that VIP/Champagne rooms were charged by the dancer, not by the customer. (In other words, they wouldn't let a group of guys go into VIP with one dancer, but you can bet dollars to donuts [mmmmmm....donuts] that a customer would be allowed to bring in as many dancers as he could handle...and afford.)
On average, the places I've been charge VIP in tiers: $100/3 dances, $200/half hour, $500/hour, with the first two tiers in a more-or-less common room, and the highest in a private booth or room. (In that respect, the guys were undercharged, and the gals were grossly underpaid.)

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Where I work I keep:
$50 out of $90 for fifteen minutes
$70 out of $130 for half an hour and
$110 out of $210 for an hour
At the bigger club that is "the" club here I keep
$40 out of $100 for fifteen minutes and
$90 out of $200 for half an hour
At my normal club customers expect to tip, and the champagne host will basically make them (ie, if he's running a credit card he'll be like, okay it's 130 for the room, would you like to tip her 70 to make it an even 200?) so that works for me.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Venus they are charging 500 per hour now at vips.Damn cant wait to come in. Most every club I have worked at its around 300-400 per hour, dancer keeps everything. Until the end of the night and its usually 20 percent to the club or the host of the vip room if the club has one. If I were you next time someone want a deal like that work it out with the guy. Tell him like 200 a half hour and dont tell anyone, that way you dont have to give most of the money to the club. If you could work it that way it would be better for you.

Well, the AVERAGE charge for the hour in VIP is $400...however, the dancers are allowed to charge anywhere from $200-$500 for the hour. :D If someone complained (but I thought it was $400)...I would just say, "Well, you ARE paying for the best." If they tell me that they really want to go to VIP, but cannot pay more than $400, I'll sit quiet for a minute or two and then go, "Well, I really like talking with you. This time, only you, for $400. It's a one-time deal, ok? Let's go!"
Telling the Host that you are charging $200/$250 for the hour when you are charging $400-$500 for the hour would work fine, IF and only IF the customer paid you in CASH. OR if you talked the customer into getting funny money on the floor prior to going into the Lounge. HOWEVER, I am sure that the floor guys would not like to see that a customer charged $500 in funny money on the floor, then you went and took them to Champagne right away, telling the host that you were charging $250 for the hour (when in fact you charged $500). Also, being that it is funny money, you still have to cash it all in at the end of the night...you're going to lose 25% off the top of that, and then have to justify tipping at least 20% of that money out to either the floor guy or the CL host. Either way, unless you are being paid straight cash...it would be hard to pull one over more than once.
If someone is going to pay me STRAIGHT cash for AT LEAST 1/2 hour to an hour, then I tell them that I'll go for $350, CASH in hand. I'll tell the CL host that it's going to be an hour for $200. OR if I am on the floor and I find a hard CL sale, and they want me to stay around, I'll tell them that for $250 CASH, I'll sit and gab with them for one hour which will include 3 dances (but that it does not include unlimited dances...if they want that, then they need to go to the CL with me since the bouncers count dances). That will usually win them over as some people are just "leary" of the CL.
Anywho...when are you coming to Chicago? Have you talked to Bob about working dates? I am on an LOA right now, but would love to meet you...so you have to let me know (I can return anytime I want with a phone call to Bob). So, fill me in on the details!!!! PM me. :D

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
I meant it might work at her club.It definitely wouldnt work at vips. Iam going to pm you, ask you some things ect.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Melonie et all, your first impression was right, the total cost for 1/2 hour with three dancers was $200. I know the price cut wasn't insane, but hadn't done one of these private deals before and was just like "ooo, private party good!" So I went along with it, wasn't until afterwards that the girl [aforementioned, who got them to tip] was like "these really suck unless they tip nicely, we only get $30." You could see me doing calculations in my head. Heh.
One final note, management keeps ALL dancer cuts of dances and parties [inside or outside the club] until the end of the night, including for this gig.
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Luna, that is utter bullshit. I'd hightail it out of there asap to a place where the prices are more appropriate. At least you happened to be in there with a girl who knew the score and was able to get everyone tipped to make it more worth your time.
At that club, I'd charge the guys myself for any future parties. Tell them your price is $x amount per half hour PLUS what the club charges and get your part up front.
-
Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Luna thats why private parties so to speak at a club are a waste of time. Set your own stuff up offsite. That will translate into a lot more money in your pocket.
My first private with Miss B was supposed to be a nude dance thing only. We agreed on $500 for an hour or so of private dancing. I was totally fine with that. Things went down a bit different than I expected ::) but that wasnt my doings.
Point being that as long as the club is involved they are going to take a good size chunk of the money. I believe you should be paid commissurate with the services provided. At best the club should get a token amount since they arent doing anything.
Just my :twocents:

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Luna, I totally agree with Bridgette. Find somewhere you can work and make money. Not work and make someone else money.
BTW, my club:
VIP $10 cover, $10 dances. (Dancer keeps all money from dances)

A dancer that goes into VIP by herself anyways with a bunch of guys is asking for trouble. That's why clubs won't allow it.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Luna, you ought to go work at a club where the managment actually looks out for you guys.I'm sorry he was such a jerk.I really do hope you find another club.Good luck.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Thanks y'all, though I didn't mean to just seek assurance it was a crappy deal, I wanted to see if, [s]should[/s] when I work at a different club, VIP/Champagne room visits are the only way to go or total waste of time like this deal was.
Anyway, just check my thread in Club Chat [I think is buried now] about working at a different place, I'm really hoping it works out so that I can. A lot of the girls here say you can make great money, but I'm just not seeing it.

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
Wow, now I really love my club.....
We have a champange room and the customer pays
55 dollars for half an hour, 75 dollars for a full hour in order to rent the room.
Then the customer pays the dancer the amount in which she decides (she gets to keep all of that money).
You were definitly screwed, feel like coming to SC???

Re:VIP or Champagne room cost and cuts?
where i work, we do . . .
$175 for fifteen minutes, out of which the girl gets $75
$210 for half an hour, out of which the girl gets $100
$375 for an hour, out of which the girl gets $175
it's pretty much normal to hustle the guy for a tip on top of that, and most of us manage to get at least an extra $100. i'm pretty happy with it, especially seeing as we have rather low house fees where i work.
also, lap dances are $25-- girl keeps $20.
