As Whirlerz said, depending on your area and the policies of the companies you wrote bounced checks to, it may be difficult to get them to understand that a bank error occurred and thus remove you from whatever "shit list" your name and account number got added to. Keep ALL documentation in regard to what happened. If this was a bank error, the bank should cover any bounced check fees. However, you may have to personally explain to credit managers of companies you bounced checks with before further checks will be accepted by these companies. Also, if this was a bank error, you may have to contact the credit report agencies yourself to clean up your credit rating.
