I definitely have to agree with this also. Drinking on shift is a very bad idea on a lot of levels. For starters, it looks tacky as can be. As a dancer, you should not only be portraying yourself as a person guys should want to be around to have fun with, but also a person of class and taste. Drinking on shift pretty much kills all of that. In addition, "getting a buzz" may help your nerves, but it will hurt you in so many other ways that having calm nerves won't matter any more. Alcohol is a depressant, and as such, it makes you think slower and less effectively. Aside from what many people think about this business, being an exotic dancer, or at least a
good exotic dancer is just as much mental as it is physical. Slowing yourself down intentionally in an environment where your game should be sharp is going to be a huge detriment to you. You wouldn't get buzzed on your first day on the job in any other type of job, would you? So why is this different?
