Re:Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I just went and added dark streaks underneath again! What was i thinking? Lol. I also made the very ends of my hair black. I am about to take these black strands and put blonde all over them. This looks silly. My top hair is very blonde, the contrast was cool at first, then i noticed it looked kinda "dirty" for me.

Re:Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Pamela, you will probably have to strip the black out of your hair and sometimes it's extremely stubborn--and sometimes you can't get the color to lift past dark brown. If you really want black streaks though, you will have to apply the dye about 3 times because it gets that dirty-transparent look. I've messed with my hair bleaching it, then dying it, then back again, so many times and that's just what I've experienced. I now have an awesome stylist who made me promise not to do anything to my hair myself! :)

Re:Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
i'm blonde (green eyes though not blue)... and i think brunettes are foxy... i don't think that i make more money b/c of it... men like all different types... some men may like me more... but others go for brunettes... i have actually had a guy say to me once that he didn't like blondes... that's one thing that i have learned... men like all different types of women... there is no such thing as a universal perfect 10...

:wide-eyed: yep Mercedez is right.
As a customer I have both a blonde and brunette fav. And after reading this thread, it seems that sub-consciously without realizing it while I am at SC, I do go for more blondes than brunettes. Just never stopped to think about it until now.
But my fav brunette dancer is like the "tomboy" or a guy's buddy type.

Re:Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I agree with TinkleLinkle--a brunette's face is usually a lot prettier than a blonde's face, usually. Of course, there are exceptions. But haircolor goes out the window when your face is ugly. I wouldn't be worried about the color of my hair if my face looked like Sloth from Goonies. Besides, I'd much rather my head full of long, thick, dark, flowing, healthy hair rather than a head full of scraggly, thinning, straw-like hair that's barely holding on, just so it could be blonde.
You can see a blonde in a dark atmosphere easier than a dark-haired beauty. It's like wearing X-mas lights on your clothes--or course people are going to see it. It's light, so it glows. Also, as Katrine said, men usually have no backbone, no brains, and so they can't think for themselves.
In conclusion, I think people should just go with what looks right on them.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I prefer a pretty face, great personality, and tight body over hair color. My favorites are twins with light brown hair, hotties with medium and dark brown hair, and two blondes. It was the entire package that attracted me to them.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I guess it's just cultural. That is what the media puts out so people eat it up. I also think some guys may go for a girl simply because the other guys do. A guy may prefer brunettes but when he is out with the guys they go for the blond since that is "safe."

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
This question is getting old. Blonde hair stands out even if it's just for a split second, hell I ran into so much burnette lovers...... :/ I'm blonde hair and blue eyed.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
people say that 'variety is the spice of life...' well...i can't fucking tell...people still flock to the blue eyed blonde in droves...especially 'men'...is seems that the rest of us become invisible...in most areas of the country...THAT'S why this question still gets asked...and will continue to get asked...
and this is coming from a brown eyed red headed black woman...

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Here comes the science. Blonde hair is perceived as "youthful" and blue eyes occur less frequently than brown eyes in human offspring, in an average family tree. It is the reproductive animal in all of us that seeks genes signifigantly different from ours to attempt to reproduce with....
Nothing against blondes, but there's also the social stereotype ("blondes have more fun") that a woman willing to go out of her way to attract attention by tinting her hair must be "easy".....
There's a Cuban saying, When you see a blonde, there goes all your money. It just means that a fair-colored person is "trophy" of different sorts to many cultures. Lord knows I get all excited about having cute blondie boyfriends...I can kind of understand the feeling.

It has to do with the skin type that most natural blondes have - tends to be drier than that of darker haired people, and dry skin ages faster. People with oily skin wrinkle slower than those with dry skin. Also, naturally fair haired people's skin tends to be more sensitive, more susceptible to weather damage. Hair and skin type are very much tied together.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I think some girls actually look better with blond hair and some girls look sexier with dark hair. For example I think I wouldn't look as pretty if I bleached hair and got rid of my dark brown color. I've seen a lot of brunettes ( usually with light brown hair) look so hot with blond hair. It really depends on the girl. As for guys prefering blonds with blue eyes, I don't necessarily believe that. I think there is a small number of guys who have a fetish for it like an asian fetish but most don't have a distinct type. Maybe Pamala Anderson, Jenna Jameson and Claudia Schiffer were so in the media that many girls copied the look and then since the majority tried to copy it, that look became standard for dancers. ;)

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Madmaxine, that is so funny you said you love having a cute blond boyfriend. I really don't have a type but I have always been attracted to men with chin-lengh blond hair and blue eyes. It never fails. But when I was younger I was in LOVE with Kurt Cobain so I think it just developed into a fetish deep in the back of my brain. So yeah I can definatly understand the blond fetish.;D

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I forgot to say that I did have a guy tell me, "I usually only like blondes, but WOW!" He couldn't resist my dark hair. And on the occasions that I have hung out with blondes, guys paid more attention to me than they did the cute blondes I was with. Even had one girl say to me, "You are so lucky!" She was referring to this handsome guy that had given me his phone number and was begging me to go out with him. I think she liked his car--it was a BMW. AND he was cute. So I dunno, maybe it was a full moon that night?
By the way, my hubby and I are both dark-haired, dark-eyed people, and our baby has blonde hair and blue eyes. Now HE'S the cutest blonde EVER.:heartbeat No competition, man or woman, young or old. Of course. Hehe, like I said, there are exceptions.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
I just dyed my hair "Radiant Ruby", and bought these colored contact called "Radiance" in Eden(green)...They are awesome!!! I highly recommend them, they add a shimmer & darker outline to any color eyes.
We'll see how the red/green look goes over next week...I'll be the only redhead though =) Too many blondes at my club!

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Evil Pixy Dust, I want to see a pic! I love red hair/green eyes. Very sexy!
I am blonde hair blue eyes but recently dyed my hair brown.
Everyone says they love the color. I have always wanted to try black but I don't have the courage to do it.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
i am blond/blue. Natural blond hair, and my skin is far from dry.
Men have told me "i prefer brunettes, but there is something about you" while working. Tons of men love dark hair/skin, they see it as very exotic...
i prefer dark tall and handsome men. blondies just dont do it for me! and women, nobody to me is more beautiful then Angelina jolie.
i think its wanting something opposite then what you have.

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Vaden-
Black rules!!! I did mine black with cherry streaks...Remember Courtney Cox as Gail Weathers in Wes Craven's SCREAM movies? Like that.
It fades quick though unless you use a color safe shampoo/conditioner duo, and plan on having it awhile because stripping it out takes forever :)

Re: Why is "blonde hair and baby blue eyes" the Standard Look for Dancers??
Yeah, every time I color my hair, I always get guys who tell me, "well I like opposite of what you have usually, but I'll make an exception for you............"
I think guys just like hot chicks, its that simple. I get really annoyed at fetish guys who only go for one specific thing, like color, height, boobs, race, etc.......they are missing out, meow!
Even though I am blond now, guys who have a blonde fetish really annoy me the most, how uncreative is that LOL!
