House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
Hello All,
I'm just taking a temperature here...
How are the House Fees and Tip-Outs set up in your club?
(i.e.: House Fees are flat or are they based on what time you come in (and what are they), and Tip-Outs...flat fee or a percentage of what you make?)
Also, do you have to work a schedule or a min. number of shifts/hours? (have to work a Mon. or Tues. day in order to work a weekend shift, etc.?)
Just curious.

The club I am currently working at is....weeknights min $10 (Dj), $ 20 (House).....On weekends min $10 Dj..and $35 House...You can however leave when you want for a price of $70.....

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
House fee at my club goes from $5 on a day shift up to $50 at night, all based on what time you come in. Tip outs are entirely at the dancer's discretion. You are required to work a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday to work the weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun).

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
At my club, the tip out is $28 period. You tip everyone else, if you deem it neccessary. At our club no one owes you anything, you earn it. I do tip the DJ, and I only tip the bouncers if they actually do something directly for me that isnt already in their job description.

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
Personally I don't like it but a set fee is okay. It's sad when you have a bad night and still have to pay house plus dj, mom, hair & makeup and some clubs door/security. I don't think we should have to tip others such as bouncers and host who didn't help us. It's a shake down to have to pay people who didn't help you just to keep your job or pay mom & dj double so they don't make your life a living hell, this is wrong. However I'm very generous when others help me as well as if I had a great night or I really really enjoyed the dj's music...

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
Where I work you pay $10 to the DJ. We make most of our money through drinks, and we keep 60% of drinks and private dances. We keep all stage and table dance tips. You're required to work 4 shifts/wk. (though they're being flexible with me since I have another job), and everyone has to work Friday. Also, if you're on the floor on time on Saturdays, you get a $16 bonus.
-
Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
No stage fee, but the house takes a percentage of lap dance and champagne rooms. Tipout is a flat five to the housemom and fifteen to the doorguy who splits it between two bouncers and the DJ. I tip the champagne host every time I do anything, and tip the DJ directly if he does something special for me or I make a lot of stage money. On really bad nights we're not required to tip out if we didn't make it, but I always do.

between 15-35 to house depending when you come in. tipout to dj and doormen (5 or 6 or them!) 5 per song in vip, dances there are 30.

Do the bouncers at your club get paid a decent hourly wage?
At my club they make like a couple dollars an hour (hardly enough, in my opinion, if you are expecting them to stand in front of some guy who might try to cause you harm, or protect you if a brawl starts around you).
I had a dancer one time say (incredulously) to a bouncer as she was heading out the front door, "What do I have to pay you guys for?!"
He basically replied, and I'm paraphrasing, "How 'bout this...the next time a guy tries to (or does) lick your nipple, or tries to stick his finger in you when you're bent over in front of him, I'm not going to do anything." Her eyes got big and she said, "OH, now I see why I have to tip you out."
I can kind of see his point. You're asking him to be ever ready to put his body in harms way should you need defense, but you don't want to pay him for it(?).
It's like paying for car insurance...chances are you won't need it, but when you have a $10,000 accident and the insurance company takes care of it for you, you're glad you've been paying your premiums. Same with bouncers (provided you have good ones who are hawks on the floor),...should some customer ever violate you in any way, you know that that bouncer is going to pick that guy up by the short-n-curlies and go bounce him on his head in the parking lot.

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
Let's see. No schedule but you must work 12 hours during the week to work Fri and Sat. If you work one of the full 4 hour blocks set forth throughout the day you don't have to pay tip out. (11:30a-3:30p, 3:30-7:30, 5:30-9:30, 7:30-11:30 & 11:30-4am) If you work outside of those shifts but still make it to 4 hours then it's $20. If you don't do at least 4 hours then $25 (So to leave early even if you got there at let's say 7:30 you would have to pay $45). But it's really easy to work 4 hours as well as one of those shifts and of course you can stay longer to work maybe 6 hours. I've never had to pay out those fees.
For private dances and fantasy booths the house gets a percentage. There is not a mandatory tip out to the DJ or anyone else. Table dances you keep 100%.

Doesn't that screw the bouncers and the DJ if the house tells you you don't have to tip out your support staff (i.e.: bouncers and DJ)?
How do they make their money if you aren't tipping out? (obviously it's through hourly wage, but I can't imagine that the club owner is offering up large hourly wages for these guys).

Why these time blocks? It would seem that if you come in for your 4 hours, it really shouldn't matter when it is, should it? And why the penalty for working outside those time blocks if you are still showing up for your four hours? Is it just a "non-conformity" penalty?

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
You all have it so good. All the clubs I worked had schedules, pay double fees for double shifts, you could not leave early unless dying or dead, and you had to dance if you were sick. Or pay a fine.
Rarely have I seen bouncers that were always on it, in terms of watching customers. If you go get them to throw someone out, it's a different story.

...pay double fees for double shifts
That brings up another question. If you, as a dancer, have to tip the support staff (DJ / bouncers / bartender, etc.) for each shift you work, what if you come in early for your "night shift" and start technically working during the "day shift", do you have to pay the day shift tip out too? Or, if you work the "day shift" and stay a little later to work a couple of hours into the "night shift", are you obligated to pay the night support crew since you worked during their shift?
How does it work if the dancer works a swing shift the perfectly straddles the "day"/"night" shift...50/50 tip out?
Also, if you work the day shift (and pay your house fee), then you decide to just stay on and work the rest of the night, do you have to pay the "night shift" house fee?, or is it pay your house fee once a day at whatever time you come in and your good for the rest of the day no matter how long you work?

see i have a real problem with this attitude and as vegas dj pointed out they are there for YOUR safety. these guys arent getting rich doing this. they are potentionally (sp) putting themselves in harms way EVERY night. do you not want to be tipped for your job even if it isnt whats required of you every night.
this is the problem with the young girls today they dont get that you TAKE CARE OF THOSE THAT TAKE CARE OF YOU.
sorry for the mini rant but it is one of my pet peeves that girls can make so much money and be SO CHEEP to staff.
i have great respect from my staff for being a fair tipper. even if it's a buck or two over the norm

They do make an hourly wage. It must be a decent amount since we have had the same guys working there for the past year that I've been there. But here is where it gets a bit screwy. The bouncers have the potential to make more money. If they catch a dancer breaking the rules then the dancer gets fined. Guess who keep the fine...the bouncers on duty. It has not been bad for me, I've only been fined once in a year and that was for being about 2 minutes late to stage because I didn't hear my name. Some dancers feel that a certain bouncer doesn't like them and goes out of his way to fine her. I don't know how true this is but I don't know of dancers leaving the club because of this. It's an incentive given by the owners to keep the club clean. I personally feel that it is not abused.

I would imagine it is because we do not have to put in a schedule. Most of the clubs in my area work on a dayshift/nightshift format (11:30am-7:30pm and 7:30pm-Close). Many customers are used to this format. Their eyes already bug out of their heads when we say we don't have schedules. The shift blocks at least give some kind of uniform feel. Most girls do start at the listed starting times and the guys know when those times are. They'll stick around to see who is showing up for the next shift. I start early a lot like at 6:30 and that is not a penalty as long as I work until 11:30. When you think about it the shift blocks pretty much insure that there will always be dancers there. It is like a "non conformity" fine but club popularity, as far as customers coming in, would really suck if there were 0 dancers even for an hour.
I also forgot to mention dancer incentives for working less populated shifts. If you work one of the day time blocks (11:30, 3:30 & 5:30 also saturday 5pm since that's the first shift on sat.) then the club will pay you $20. Also you can double it up. If you work 11:30 - 7:30 then that's $40 to you. Beginning weekend shifts (friday & sat 7:30) gets you $10 ticket good for a fine or future fine or money to spend at the bar.

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
the fee at the club that i work in is $250 on a weekday and $350 on weekends.... plus you tip the dj.....if you work a double shift , you pay double
-
Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
My club has a surprisingly low fee structure. $20 per shift house fee and thats it. Basically one dance takes care of the fee. The house doesnt take a cut from the dances.
Dancer drinks cost about double the usual price and the house keeps all of that. Tips to the DJ are optional.

I do tip well. However, I see that dancer's point. The bouncer is hired to do a job. By requiring an additional tip from the dancers to do his job is extortion.

Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
House fee is $20 ($10 to house,$5 to bartender, $5 to doorman). The fee is $15 if you open and $25 if you come in after 6pm.
The DJ gets 10% of gross or at least $8.
That's it. Everything else you get to keep.
-
Re:House Fees & Tip Outs in your club?
Here's my club's house fees:
M-F: Check-in before 4pm = $20
Check-in after 4pm =$40
Check in at 6pm= $80
Check in at 9pm= $100
Check in after 9pm = $120
Sunday is 8pm check in =$40, after which the fee is $60
Then, at the end of the night, you tip the DJ anywhere from $10-$20, and the house mom at LEAST $10, and the floor tip-out is another 20% of gross earnings.

Can you believe what youre told? Hell, I dont know. The best earners here, rumor has it, make 4 to 5 per night on average. I dont know if thats good money or not. But I know a few who complain of only making a couple hundred. Point being, if theyre not making good money its not because the club takes too large a percentage of their earnings. Might be because they sit on their ass in the dressing room.
My fav tells me shes made 8 to 1K on a few ocassions but thats only when a high rolling regular (like me ;D) shows up.
