Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
I cant answer...since im not a female...
But...i know many many girls who dont hang out with other girls...and dont have any girl friends.
A lot of girls dont trust other girls for some reason.
Thats just what I know from the very few girl friends that I have.
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
Most of my friends are guys. Most of the girl "friends" I have had have ended up being catty and talked about me behind my back. In general, guys are more direct-if they're pissed off about something, they'll tell you to your face. I've always gotten along better with guys, even before I started dancing. Now that I'm a dancer, it's even harder to make female friends. Other dancers often view you as competition, and girls who are not dancers often hold the stupid stereotypes that dancers are all sluts and drug addicts. ::)
My best friend is a girl and I have known her since I was 10 years old. I don't know what I'd do without her. :)
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
My 2 best friends are girls, for about 8 years now. But I'm definitely a 'guys girl', most of my other friends are guys. It's been that way for a while. I dont know....guys are so much easier to get along with. But like blondehottie said, I always feel like girls want to compete with each other, and I hate that.

That's the problem exactly! I have ZERO chick frends....I like guys waaaaaay better. They don't get pissed at the petty stuff (if they ever get pissed at all), they'll tell you when you look good or bad or if you're making an ass out of yourself, and IMO they're more fun to hang with......maybe cuz I'm a total tomboy (I like quads, dirtbikes, fishing, comics, and T&A).
Most girls, no matter how long or well you know them, will turn on you without the slightest provocation. They are DEFINATELY catty and VERY competitive. I say it all the time.......chicks are bitches.
OK, ok, I am bitter over my last chick friend who after 7 years, turned on me when we moved to Cali to become famous. Shit was hard and we were under a lot of stress and pressure, but that's no excuse for what she said and did.
ANYWAY...As bitchy as chicks can be.....they're still fun to look at
;)
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
Most of my friends are guys. It's just always been that way. I grew up with a lot of guy cousins....So, maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know...
My best friend and I have been friends for sixteen years. Other than her, and my new online girlfriends ;), that's it....
Honestly, I'm the type of person who needs a lot of alone time. It works out well for me that my best friend lives in Virginia and I live in Indiana. We enjoy our visits, but don't have the opportunity to get tired of one another.
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
I'm a girl's girl. It's great to see stuff from a guy's point of view, and I would love to have great guy friends. But yeah, I like to talk about my feelings -- and that's definitely 'girl talk'! (For some strange reason, guys seem more competitive with me than girls. It's weird! Girls, I find, are usually more encouraging.)
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
I have 2 best girl friends that I've had for the past 18 years (6th grade.. yipes). Other than that, I always hung out with the boys. I just never got along that great with girls.. Either I didn't like them, or they didn't like me. lol
My absolute best friend is a guy, a Tennessee hick who's 11 years older than me. He gets along great with the hubby as well, which is a plus. I always say he's the older brother that *I never wanted* LOL. We think so much alike that it's frightening.. lol
Don't get me wrong, I can be sociable and nice to other females, but I don't really make friends of them.
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
My best friend that Ive had since grade 9 said something that has always stayed with me. "Unless they are gay, chances are they eventually, if not initially end up wanting to fuck you" I tried having a couple of guy friends, but she was right! So thats why I have stuck with my 2 best female friends.

Very, very true in a lot of cases....
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
LOL that's very true. The hick always tells the hubby that he's going to wisk me away to some secluded island.
Other than him though, I just don't have the time or patience for friends.
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
Neither, really. A friend is a friend. I have been stabbed in the back by both. Which is why I'm very selective/somewhat reclusive. Always trust my initial instincts about someone. Lots of people have an ulterior agenda. I have only a couple really close friends. And I do consider those on this board, that I've spoken with, friends. I'm pretty out in the open about my feelings, and get hurt easily & deeply. I also learned in the worst way not to trust neighbors, & people at work.

I dont buy any of those sayings :-\
I like to do what I'm gonna do regardless...a lot of people(i dont mean you in specific) get hung up on all these little sayings and what not....they are just made up to make people feel better about certain situations...like "you cant win all the time" and the like....
But thats neither here nor there...they just bother me...nevermind...carry on ;D
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
I've always had a lot of girl ad guy friends. I am very easy to get along with unless I was crossed or talked shit about. I had about 7 best friends throughout highschool and grammar school (big clique) and they started to drop slowly like flies. One was a hypocrite, the other a cleptomaniac, and a few others just moved and we still keep in touch.
My best friend, who has a baby is a girl named Wanda. We have been friends since pre-school and we talk atleast once a week because we are so busy.
With guys, I drop them once they start to have feelings for me because its too weird to date any of them. But I love all of the friends I have now, with the exception of ONE girl.
We were friends for 5 years (very close) and once she started dancing, she viewed me as competition even though we were totally different looking and had two totally different styles of dancing. Oh well. Cant please em all.

Yes it hurt very much so... :( But I couldnt let it get me down anymore. She turned part psycho. Oh well.. :(
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
I have girlfriends and guy friends. There are some things that are just better discussing with the guys. A lot of girls, even without intending, are catty...I'd rather just avoid the drama.
Of course, most of my friends are cool and open-minded...but when I was younger, I had one Best Girlfriend...and then we both had nothing but guy friends. So much easier!! :D
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
In the case of two of my female friends, the reason they did not have many girlfriends is that they were incredibly sexy and magnetic. And although, they could get a female friend, no problem, they had a hard time keeping them due to significant others of the female friends wanting to get involved with them and/or fuck them. Or, at least, the female friends were so unnecessarily jealous, they thought the S.O. wanted to. In response, one of them said something very simple once "Lots of people think lots of things and don't do them!".
As was said before, guys can be more direct and girls like that. Girls can also get certain types of things done through guys that are friends, i.e. get cars fixed or whatever. Sometimes it also ends up that even the long friendship of a guy may be a crush that they don't have the balls to exercise or maybe there are circumstances that make it so they cannot.
I actually was only "allowed" to have female friends that the ex-wife was friends with and even then it could be tense. I don't miss that one bit.
Now, I see anybody I want and look forward to the day when I find a relationship with someone, who does not carry around that kind of baggage. :paperbag:
>>>Sad<<<
;D
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
Right now I am my own best friend. :'(
I would like girlfriend, but spending almost all my time in the clubs it's impossible. We get dressed and work the crowd.Plus alot of the girls are so much younger.generally I get along better with men.I am kinda a cute tomboy.Like to ride my motorcycle and fish-stuff like that.
Re:Girls Girl Or Guys Girl?
Right now I'd have to say that I am neither. I just moved to Indy about seven months ago. I was pregnant when I moved, and so I haven't had a chance to meet any girls who dance here in Indy. (With the exception of a couple SW members) And since my pregnancy was slightly complicated even before I got preeclampsia, I've spent the majority of my time here stuck in the apartment. Now that I've had my baby I don't have a lot of time to go out and meet people.........
All that being said, I used to be a guy's girl. But then I realized that most of my guy friends were just being nice because they were trying to fuck me. Now I think that if I ever get the time to go out and meet people I will probably be more of a girl's girl. I miss having a couple really great girlfriends. Most of my girlfriends from back in high school got married and moved away never to be heard from again.
