tip outs on the vips
I have a question. So far I have only had one vip.But for the next time who do I tip out and how much? The house already get their $ for campagne. There is a vip room dude who wanders in and out and sets up the champagne, but I heard the dj complaining that a girl that was in there all night tipped him out less than he felt he should have gotten. What did he do to get her in there? They don't do much at this clubas far as dj- ing.Anyway the fee is 125 to the house and 200 to the girl. What is right? Thanks

Re:tip outs on the vips
All of it as far as I'm concerned. The club is making enough already and the customer tips the witress separetly.

Re:tip outs on the vips
My club charges a flat rate.Anything else is out of the dancers' generosity.

Re:tip outs on the vips
I would tip the DJ the normal amount and throw the CR guy twenty dollars if he helped you get the room or helped you upsell the customer, and ten dollars if he didn't.

Re:tip outs on the vips
If you have a housemom, ask her about who to tip and standard tip amounts. Most DJs expect 10% or similar, at this new club I'm going to, though, you tip the DJ $10 through the bouncers, I suppose so the DJ doesn't what is from who. *shrug*
If the bartenders change my ones into higher denominations I tip them, otherwise no. But I haven't worked with a CR attendant, soo.

Re:tip outs on the vips
I spent the entire evening in CR last night. Its a big dimly lit room with lots of couches, so no total privacy. The Champagne manager wanders in and out all night, talking to the couples and trying to sell them the VIP membership. The club gets an upfront fee of $100 and they bring us crappy champagne and strawberries, etc....
Since the host didn't bother us, AND turned his head away from the action when he was around, I tipped him $40. I also made $820 off of this guy, we were in there ALL night doing non-stop dances, and the CR manager could see that, so it would not be cool to stiff him. We weren't doing any extras, but it is very respectful when the manager keeps his head turned away, makes the customer happy.
SO....the point of the story is....it pays to tip the champagne host well so that he DOES NOT come around and bother you and your future patrons. This will equal bigger bucks in future earnings. Anything under $500 for you though, only tip $20.
If you are only in there for <$150 dances, I would pay $10.
Good luck, Kat!

Re:tip outs on the vips
Hmm... In some clubs it may be prudent to specify to the bouncers wether you're tipping them to keep an eye on you or to not keep an eye on you....

Re:tip outs on the vips
This is true Lena. If the guy seems like he might be a creep, I will try to tell the waitress and/or host to drop by often and say hello.....
Luckily its been a while since that has been necessary ;)

Re:tip outs on the vips
I work at Score's in Chicago, our dances are $30 in VIP and we have a champaigne room and a presidential room. $200 min. bottle for the Champaigne room, $300 min. bottle for the Presidential. Then there's the girls fee which is usually $400-600 per hour. Alot in my book, which is why I often felt leary about selling it. Usually a guy will ask me about it. I am not a good hustler. Still I have been in there SEVERAL times, and made $2000 off one guy one time, along with the waitress who came in with me. I was told to tip out 15-20% to the door guy which that time was; yes, $400! Sounds like alot, but I would gladly pay $400 to make and EASY $1600 anyday than "ham and egging" it on the floor as the owner says. I think I get down there so often due to the fact that the floor guys work for me and try and convince the customers to go down there with ME. They come up to me and tell me so-and-so just cashed out say $1000 diamond dollars, or this guy has a rolex on an a big wad of cash go up to him now. Good for me because I am not good at hustling. I spend most of my night at the bar drinking and usually have guys come up to me. I never leave with less than $500 a night, and actually feel I am a lazy dancer. Maybe I should take that course, imagine the money I could make if I knew how to ask for it.!
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I would tip 15-20% as a rule see if it helps you.

Re:tip outs on the vips
I worked at VIP's in Chicago. You were required to tip out 20% of whatever you made in the Champagne Room. There's no stiffing anyone here...they can make you a ton of money...
Also, I believe that most clubs have their own "guidelines" as to "special tip-outs". Might not hurt to see if your club has something like that.
