I'm up to about 180-200. I don't know if doing anymore has a point to it. I'll usually do 80-100 in the morning and 80-100 at night.

I do "50", but I also do alot of pole work which keeps me in kick ass shape. ;)
Shit - I doubt I could do 1! Hate em, they hurt too much.
I only do 50 every other day...I use the balance ball and do other isometrics. I also do Pilates and Yoga. Regular sit-ups bore me. :D
I read that your abs are like any other muscle in your body and they need variation of exercises and a days rest between to recover?....
At the mo I work my abs 30mins 3 times a week.
I dont do any right now.... you can prolly tell <-----
but I tested myself last august, I did 43 in two minutes. I used to do 100-200 a sitting, which was kinda sproradic. I could prolly do 60 right now with some pain at the end.
I hear holding your abs in (sucking in) is also a type of ab exersize and can help, I can suck in two inches at least (from 28-26) and hold it for sevral minutes, I stop not because it hurts or anything, but because I cant concertrate that long......
I have been doing 500-1000 crunches a day....it took a couple of months...but it got my abs into great shape. I love the way they look now....now that I go to a gym on a daily basis, I do about the same every other day with my workout.
I have an Abs of Steel tape that I do for 10 minutes 4 or 5 times a week. I'm just getting back into it after being lazy for the last couple of weeks. ;)
I can do roughly between 50 and 100 but somedays i don't do any
I do 100 every morning (along with squats) and i settle for that as long as i know i did that in the morning ill be fine
sometimes if i have time and im not lazy i will do another hundred at night.
I agree with what was already said here, I don't work my abs every day...but when I do (3 or 4 times a week) I mix up the exercises (crunches, reverse crunches, full sit ups, and some ab-oriented pilates positions usually) :)
Vaden...SMOKIN ABS, LADY. WOOOOOW is all I have to say :)
I think its quality of the type of sit up or crunch vs. the quanity.
Yeah. If you don't vary your exercise and just do thousands of them at a time you don't give the muscle time to rebuild. You are just tearing away at it.
Right?
Your suppose to let your abs rebuild after. I know 500-1000 crunches is alot. I love doing crunches, and that was my drive to get my stomach to the way I wanted it. Now I do that about every other day added in to my workout. I don't just do one style of crunches...I have a variety I do..:)
Ah... none.. I stick with Pilates.
I personally don't like a "ripped" stomach on a female. I like shape and some hardness (you can tell the girl looks after herself somewhat). Whilst Vaden does have great abs... I personally don't like that look on a female. I've always wanted that look (well.. a little less defined yet still defined) on a man more than a woman.
That's why I don't want a "ripped" stomach... just some shape and hardness. :)
I have the 8 minute abs tape and I just started doing that four days ago. It's 9 different exercises for 45 sec each. It's awesome!!
Bellydance is good on the abs, especially undulations.
If you do your crunches on an incline, you get good results in less time.
I don't like to perform the rolling the quarter on the belly trick-but practice it at home on occasion because it gives your upper and lower abs a nice little workout and gives you a goal-to get that lil bastard to flip back and forth!
Sit ups!?!?!?!
Crunches people, crunches...
Nine times out of ten, 3/4 of the 500 sit ups people claim they do in a day are done improperly, and dont do much more than put a strain on your back and cause more problems for you body, than do any good...
Proper crunches are more effective on tightening up your abdominal muscles..
Actually, the best way I have found to work my abs, is through hanging leg raises...
Most people end up hitting thier upper abs through poor form and improper technique, leaving the lower abs unworked...
Leg raises and crunches are two exercises that always leave me bent over in pain at the end of a set... lol
Vaden, I am speechless... sick fucking abs girl!!
Thanks Babe! ;)Quote:

Vaden, what kind of diet are you on??
Are you taking any over the counter supplements?? ie, fat burners or carb blocks???
Aside from my female friends that compete, I have never seen abs like that on a female.. very impressive!!!
Just curious what you been doin. Thanks!
I do not diet or take any supplements. I take about 12 vitamins a day, I drink a ton of water, I get my workouts from sit-ups, swimming, massive pole work 4-5 nights a week and free-style dance... ;)Quote:

It's not about how quanity it's about quality.
Let's say you do 500 sit ups (poor form)---no benefit
let's say you do 25 sit ups with great form, controled in a slow manner----benefits!!!!!
also add different ab training instead of your basic sit up such as
side crunch
V-up
reverse crunch
jackknife with medicine ball
hanging knee raise
medicine ball lift
try doing ab exercise on a pilatesball ;D
"massive pole work 4-5 nights a week "
Not only do you keep it toyt Vad, but you crack me the hell up... too funny...
I stand corrected as well... I never gave situps that much respect, thinking they did more harm than good... but you proved me wrong..
Keep up the good work!
I'm glad I could make you laugh but, I am not kidding. I give a very athletic performance on stage with the pole and I use every muscle in my body... ;) See "Pole Arm" thread.Quote:
