Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
So I understand everyone has there crappy weeks. I've been having one lately. Believe me, I've said everything-here's some of the few that usually kick off my paycheck (but have failed these past two weeks)
Are you horny?
Wanna get happy?
Wanna get nasty?
Ready for some sexercise?
Are you moist?
Wanna get moist?
Do you need some LUV?
Do you need some love and attention?
Wanna get freaky?
Wanna have sex with your clothes on?
Do you need some pleasure?
you get the picture, I try to stay as far away from 'wanna dance?' 'cause it doesn't really work for me-making dudes laugh/think usually does better. But I don't know if I'm just getting the fresh customers who just aren't horny, if my approach isn't good enough or what-I add 'sugar, hun, babe, baby, cutie, sexy, daddy-o' whatever cute little nicknames you can think of and my days are not what they used to be. Don't get me wrong, I'm surviving, but I'm very unsatisfied and so my question is
GIRLS-what catchy phrases help you get lapdances? What helps? (I do the sit and talk thing if it's slow, but I won't stay longer than four songs unless I know dude.)
GUYS-before 'purchasing' a lapdance, does it matter if she's the hottest girl in the club or how her personality is or if you're in the mood? (or all of the above?) What helps you decide on a lapdance? (I ask because some of the ugliest girls in my club BANK while a lot of the hotties do really shitty.)
I'd appreciate all the help I can get. Thanx :flower:

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
Despite the fact I'm in a "strip club", beauty is only skin deep. To be honest, I have a tendency to go for some of the more "plain" dancers, if you want to call them that.
I NEVER get a dance from a dancer who stops by and simply says "wanna dance?" or any other variation, such as the ones you listed.
It does matter if I'm in the mood and if I have already planned on getting dances vs. simply tipping.
In short...the conversation is important to me. I realize there must be idle chit-chat, but the dancers I go for are willing and able to engage in more engaging conversation. I like spunk, wit, and intelligence. I can appreciation the dancer that uses the "you really turn me on" approach....but I don't buy it, so that doesn't work, either. What does work is if the dancer notices something in particular about me...such as my hair (or lack of it) and expresses an interest in some particular quality they have taken note of. Bald head..... eye color.... shirt.... speech.... something.
I noticed you...
I like....
wit...
smartass...
slight touch....
And then the reverse psychology for the kicker - "I really enjoy this conversation, but I suppose I need to go make some money. If you are interested in a dance at any point, make sure you let me know."
Now....here's the kicker....and this one will draw me in like crazy.... periodic eye contact from across the room. I've had several dancers do this to me. You see, if I haven't gotten the dance, yet, I am now seriously considering it. But now, I glance across the room, and the dancer is speaking with some other sleezeba....I mean....customer.... and she throws me a glance and a smile...just long enough for me to notice that it is deliberate. She may be doing this to several other guys...I dunno...I don't care.... but that will have me pretty well roped in. Then at some point, saunter back over...lean over...say something in my ear, like... "God...that guy is such an asshole...."
Sound like a lot of work? It's really not....because I'm not the only one you're doing this to....it's every other guy...you're just rotating on a constant basis. Knocking us down like an assembly line.
That's my theory, anyway. If nothing else, it could make an interesting sociological experiment. :)

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
Gosh...have you thought about taking the Dancer Wealth course? A lot of girls have really loved the course and said that it helped them. To be honest, I do not know what I do...I will conversate for a while and then spring for a dance...if I get a "no" then I move on...if I get a "maybe later" then I move on. I think the biggest thing is to not take that personally...this business is all about sales...so the "turn away" factor is high...but the more chances you take, the better your odds are at getting more dances (duh). I've seen girls that get a lot of turn-downs in the night and their attitude changes--and then they go downhill from there. Keep upbeat, cheery, and flirty and know that for every person you approach who does not spend money, you are that much closer to getting someone who will.
Mojo...what happened to the SW logo on Mojo? ??? :D

I never use "wanna dance" but when I keep my pitch brief, I try to make it as cute and charming as possible.
That being said, sometimes it's just not possible or time-efficient to sit and chat. At one club I work in often, Saturdays are so busy that I spend the bulk of the shift literally running to the dance area and back. Luckily, I am often approached for one, but I know that time is money, and often so is that club when it's packed on Saturdays, so I just go for the quick-but-cute approach. The last Saturday I worked, I got turned down for a dance exactly TWICE the whole shift. Not bragging, just saying that keeping it short and sweet isn't always a bad thing.
A lot of what makes one successful in this business isn't always what you say or ask for, but how you go about it!

bingo
VG - Since NO ONE was on this morning as I was going through my typical early AM insomnia, I decided to dick around with Mojo (so to speak)...didn't realize the logo would be missed...during my next bout, I'll what I can do aobut that for you. You have my most humble apologies.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
Usualy " Do you want a lap dance" or "do you want a dance " works for me. if i want one ill say yes if not ill say no. If you give me some silly line you'll most likely get me to chuckly and kindly decline.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
I'm not a dancer but I find it weird how the wanna dance line dosen't work or not that it dosen't but turns guys off.
Hello you are in a strip club you think the girls are there to conversate with you all day. why get offended by that line?
everyone goes to a strip club for the same reason yet they get offended when they are asked if the wanna dance? i dont' get it

If the homelier girls are consistently doing better than the hotties, then one of the they're succeeding by one of the three following means...
A.) ...having incredibly good personality and sales skills.
B.) ...by default because they gave an effort while the hotties hung out at the bar.
C.) ...doing more than just dancing.
As for these lines...

I'd expect these in some scene from a raunchy porn film, not from a dancer (well not a sober one anyway). Because they're a bit too graphic, (can't say I've ever heard moist?), you may be scaring some of your customers off. Contrary to popular belief, not every customer seeking out a lap dance is looking to be grinded to completion. Some of us just want an attractive friendly gal to make us feel special for a few minutes. Try to be more real, and more subtle.

Four songs is super generous IMHO. After that much free time theres nothing wrong with an honest striaight up "so could I interest you in some dances?". If the customer has an IQ of 50, and has spent any time in SC's, he knows that you're going to pop the question eventually.
As ND already states, the problem with "wanna dance" isn't that you say it, its how and when you say it. I'm a much easier sell for the gal who's invested eight minutes of her time to get to know me, and gives me her sales pitch in a complete sentence.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
instead of saying " do you want to get nasty " or soemthing like that. Try the approach of making him feel special. Tell him how you saw him sitting there and really wanted to dacne for him. give him a compliment or something then if he agrees to it youll get your dance.
sales mistakes
wanna get (insert line) ....answer "no" conversation over
do youi ( insert line ) answer " no" conversation over
try
i saw you from over there and really wanted to dance for you
responce " wow, oh really or whatever. it wasnt a yes or no question and got his interest.
yeah i saw you and think you have ( insert compliment, flattery gets you everywhere)
basically buttewr them up.
then say its $20 or however much it is. do you want to pay cash or charge it. assuming they are allowed to charge in thier club. I never asked a yes or no question. you have to lead people in a direction you want them to go. almost build it up to cornering them into how they are paying for it not whether they want it or not. Just assume they do and lead them into wanting it.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
If your club allows it try sitting on his knee while asking him if he's looking for some company...if he was thinking of a dance but wasn't quite sure...this can focus his mind.

what do you do when you ask him if he wants some company and he says " no" ??
just playing devils advocate. LOL

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
Then you know pretty fast there's no money and you can move on...
-
Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
unless someone is dead set against something human nature will lead them to answer the question they are asked.
the perfect example is going clothes shopping. the sales associate isnt on commission. however when you are shopping and try a few things on or have picked some things out. they rarely ever ask if you liked them they usually ask " will that be cash or charge" they assume the sale and direct you into how you are going to pay for it. never asking if you actually wanted it.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
Pazzo, that is some awesome advice. Im using that "I saw you while I was sitting over there and I wanted to dance for you" line tomorrow. I bet that DOES work. How did I not think of that? Thanks again.

Good lookin', thx for the :twocents:, but I know how to do my job girlie. Keep in mind different clubs, different states, different crowd, different girls, different approaches-get it? New Jersey isn't anything like Portland, Las Vegas is not like Bronx, Seattle isn't anything like L.A. I don't where you've danced or how long you've been dancing, but these lines have been doing me quite fine (considering my demeanor, personality and look-cute, funny, and slightly belligerent .-hey, I'm honest) in the past. HOWEVER, they haven't been working for me very well lately and I found alot of the advice (except yours, although I appreciate the concern) on this thread very helpful-Pazzo, Mojo, NinaDaisy-I'm not going about it the right way. :dunce: With that in mind, I did do the eye contact/smile thing and did the 'I saw you from over there and I really wanted to dance for you.' Worked out really well, so did 'Could I interest you in some dances?' sitting and talking always helps though more during the day. Thx for the help everyone, I do appreciate it.
I just look at it like each girl has her own look and personality to sell. A naughty Catholic schoolgirl, an athletic and amoral surfer chick, and the ever-popular bisexual punk rocker with a dildo in her lunchbox-whatever, you get the picture. But before you judge me hun or wanna tell me how to do my job/being treated like 'shit' in LD area-consider that everyone's approach is different(and everything else I said above) and I'd appreciate it in the future if you'd keep your 2 cents 2 yourself. :headphones:

Typically these types of guys just want to paw at a dancer for free, wait till she hits him up, then start the cycle again with the next dancer that comes over. One major reason I almost never sit on guys laps at work in the main floor area, especially when the guy specifically requests it. My exception is after we've already done a Champagne room or some other comparably profitable transaction.

I only request it if I am interested in getting a dance from the lady. Otherwise, I never ask someone to sit in my lap on the main floor.

im from jersey now but born in brooklyn NY and if someone said to me you wanna get nasty i would probably be spitting my drink out of my nose from laughing so hard.

Re:Catchy phrases and lapdance drama
I approach them from the front, lean over to give them a good shot of cleavage, look them in the eyes and say:
Me: Are you ready?
Him: for what?
Me: (touching his chin with my finger) To be the chosen one!
This generally works very well.
Another line I use:
Are you in?
Let's go!
These are good for busy nights and high hustle, and don't work as well for early and dead evenings.
