Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
My fav has had money ripped-off before, so when she is hanging out with me and has to go on stage or go back to the dressing room, she asks me to watch her purse for her. She tucks it behind me in the seat.
I suppose she trusts me with her purse; otherwise I don't think she would leave it with me or at least I think she trusts me.
And being a gentleman, I willingly guard it. :wide-eyed:
However do you ladies think that this is a good idea to guard the purse or should I take the cautious road in the future and politely refuse to avoid the possibility of being accused of stealing someone's money. :shocking:
If it's a new dancer that I've never hung with before then no way would I agree to watch the purse.
What are everyone's thoughts?
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
I have to wonder about instances of dancers that you don't know leaving their purses with you early on. That's *really* odd.
In the instances that I've been left to "guard duty", I've considered it a sign of trust and a bit of an honor.
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
Take it as a compliment ;D
Since she is your fav.. why shouldn't she trust you? You've obviously prooved to her thru your actions during the numerous times you've seen each other that you can be trusted.. so take it as a compliment.
If you really REALLY do feel uncomforable about the whole thing.. tell her you are flattered and honoured that she trusts you ... yet you feel uncomfortable about playing guard with her purse (in the very slight case something ever does happen to it).
;D
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
I've had this happen and take it as a compliment from an otherwise not-so-bright individual. I have no problem with "watching" a purse.
It's also, in case no one thought of this, akin to a dog pissing on a tree. For one, she has you watching her purse. Pee number 1. Pee number 2 - if someone else comes up to you for a dance.....can you go? ;) She's just anchored you to the chair for the duration of her stage exhibition.
.....with that in mind...I take back my "not-so-bright" comment. Farking brilliant.
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
No you shouldn't. This smells like a potential setup to me. There are two dancers who I have watched their money, and with ATF her trusting me with where she really works and meeting her co workers and mother, which would be very risky for her if she didn't trust me.
For her I would do it. I also know that her purse would be drug free and not heavily armed with a SW 44 mag. or a 9mm Glock.
But let me ask this. What type of a club doesn't have at least a minimal secured area or locker for a dancers possessions in a cut throat cash business?
I can recall ATF even leaving her garter in the VIP room while she went to the bathroom.
This was helpful as a ploy in that she could tell guys she didn't have a garter and couldn't therefore logically do a table side dance as she made it to the restroom or DJ booth/schedule or manager to leave early or whatever business needed to be settled.
Think of it. A dancer who doesn't wear a garter and therefore can't collect money from a customer who wants to pay her for a table side dance. She loved to pull that one when she was with me especially on guys who put her down or were trouble makers. Sort of like a taxi with the "For Hire" sign off.
It was a small way of power psychology on those she didn't like and saved her time from saying no and explaining. Guys were usually confounded by this and didn't have a comeback.
Meanwhile the garter (and money with ribber band) is safe with me.
But I would not watch any other dancers money and purse. Sorry.
I might add there is no logical reason to watch the purse as it is better off in the locker area. You also don't know if there is drugs or a gun in the purse. I mean do you open it?
Then there is the random police raid issue who when they gather up everybody in the club and find the poor Schmuck customer at the table (me) with drugs in the purse I'm not sure I could answer the obvious police questions that would follow the discovery.
So in summary, the purse is a real no no. You have to ask why is the dancers purse even on the floor? Most showclubs this is a wardrobe violation.
Should you watch the garter and money? Again no but at least it is a bit more logical
of a request.

I'm sure many ladies here will attest to working in clubs where tje club's efforts to safeguard their money and possesions were minimal if not nonexistent. Some clubs do not have lockers, or at least not enough of them to cover the entire staff.

Forgive my ignorance, but why would any sane dancer resort to all that drama? Particularly when there is no monetary incentive for her to do so.

Wardrobe violation? I think you're taking the situation in effect at your club and saying that it applies everywhere. For every nice showclub there are about dozen quasi-dives where the dress rules aren't so anal. It is very common for dancers to carry purses in many locations as they do not wear garters. We're not talking about big purses like you see women carrying on the street, but little coin purses just big enough to carry their bankroll around. Way too small to hold a handgun. The drug issue is perhaps valid though.
I've had a couple gals ask me to watch their purse and thought nothing of it, but I've always said the safest place a dancer can keep her money is on her body. That way its never out of her sight.
I've seen some gals resourceful enough to even tie their money to the ankle straps on their shoes. Most who I've seen carry a purse around with them will hide it in that empty space in the chair/couch behind the customer's back during dances knowing that only their hands are liable to wander back there.

This makes me think of one of the girls hollowing out the platform sole and putting her money in there.
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
I got to sit with the faves purse, once. She was with me at the table and walked off to get the waitress. At the time i wasn't thinking(i'm a idiot) and i got up to join her.It wasn't far to the waitress and i had only taken three four steps when she turned, looked at me and yelled "MY Purse!"...ack,i guess she hasn't trusted me since come to think of it...
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
Ive watched/held money many times. Guess I come across as honest plus as verf said often times I gave them most of it anyways.

Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I should make it clear when I say purses. Not a true full-size purse that woman carry outside, but something for a dancer to put her money in such as a small coin pouch or tiny knapsack style.
Hmmmm no responses from the ladies here yet though

Yes, exactly. I've always done purse duty for my ATF and her friends, and for the whole table when there is a mixup in the dance rotation and everybody scurries to cover the two floors.
I see it as a compliment, too, although maybe another way of looking at it is that gifts are always safest with those who have given them.
I'm also curious to see what the girls have to say about this. On the compliment hierarchy, purse duty still would rank below walking a girl to her car after hours for safety reasons at her invitation, I would think.
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
when i had a regular.... *yeah i said had * I left my purse with him all the time. ITs nice to know you can let your guard down sometimes. I use a garter anymore though.. that was i dont need to worry about putting it down and having someone pick it up while im giving a dance
Also.. Not all dancers do drugs..
Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
I've watched over several things before - funny money, real money, purses, outfits, etc.
Overall, not a big deal, but it is nice that there's some trust there.
Re: the lecture on security - I've given up. First timers are easy to leave their drink and come back to it. I always feel like I'm on a pulpit, and that it does very little good. Oh well...

Re:Should I guard/watch the dancer's purse?
I used to do purse duty for my ATF all the time. I considered it an honor. And it wasn't to keep me away from other girls because she knew that when she was there I was all hers. Every dancer I've ever known well complained about theft in the locker room, it must be really common. So it's no doubt that they trust a regular customer more than they do some of the other dancers.
