I've heard a number of girls complain about how they aren't getting enough dances or clients/customers interested in them. Being on stage for me at least was a way to check out who was there and let everyone know who I was and in my experience, the music played a HUGE part in what kind of money I was going to make. For me, the older customers are more generous because they can afford to be and so I gear my music towards them. I'm talking about people ages late 30's and up and not the 20 somethings. I'll play classic rock or "lounge" or some soul music that will remind them of being young. Music that will at once put them in a party mood or just a really good mood and help them get into that "state of mind" where nothing matters and all they want is another drink, a smoke, a dance or two and to think of that kick ass concert when they were 19 and wild. For me this works great and maybe it can help anyone else that is looking for a new idea. Many new R&B songs have samples of classic soul tracks and to change it up a bit, you could find the origional and see how it works and branch out to another audience. Hmmm. I wonder if this posting will be moved to a different section...
