Jenny Craig
Has anyone tried this? I am thinking of starting this week and my parents have been using the program for years and it seems to work for them. I'm not over weight, but I am much bigger than I used to be a few years ago and would like to be tiny like that again. What did you like about the program? What didn't you like? What worked best for you? How long were you on the program?
Thanks! :-*

Re:Jenny Craig
There are some fat chicks who try to work it at the club and tey need jenny craig bad. The majority of new dancers look BAD. Anyone can be a stripper now. So everyone should just do it whether they have the body for it or not.

Re:Jenny Craig
Well, thanks for that, but the Jenny Craig is just for me to feel better about myself and not so I can get more work dancing... I'm not concerned about the club part.

Re:Jenny Craig
My mom's friend did Jenny Craig and lost 50 lbs but she gained it back after a year of being off the program. I think the Jenny Craig program also uses supplements. My aunt is on weight watchers which she seem to like- they have meetings and operate by a point system (there's a card with the point value of different foods and you have to stay within your alloted points.) I don't know which weight lose program is better though.
I've heard the important thing is making a lifestyle change once you're off the program. (Although if you just want to lose 5lbs Tonalin CLA (a supplement) will help with that and firm up your body.)
Working out will also help- weight training or cardio or both.
Good luck Aleah!

Re:Jenny Craig
Thanks CottonCandy!! I want to lose 30lbs so it's going to take a little work. I was always a size zero and now I'm a size 6 so even though I'm considered average, it's been hard to see me as a bigger size. I don't want to be quite as skinny as I was but I would like to lose a few sizes and get back to a 3/4 if I can. I'll check out Weight Watchers and see what that is about as well and I still welcome any other coments about Jenny Craig!!

Re:Jenny Craig
None these programs including ones like Jenny Craig, Herbalife (it is still a weight loss/management programme that heaps of people use) and the like will do anything for you if you do not change your lifestyle.
You actually don't "need" these programs... just be more active... walk to the shops instead of driving your car.. if you can bicycle your way to certain places.. do that instead of using your car.. and so forth. BE ACTIVE.. no necessarily "exercise".. just daily activity. Even simple household "chores" like vacuuming and dusting can burn calories.
After you have developed a more active lifestyle.. start cutting out the 'bad' foods from your life. Be more proactive with your food choices... try to eat fresh wherever possible.
Just because something has less fat in it doesn't necessarily mean it is better for you. If it is still one of those "not so good for you" foods.. eat less of it.
I personally still eat those 'bad' foods.. just once or twice a fortnight.
Then suppliment your more active lifestyle and better eating with nutritional suppliments. It is an unpleasant fact that we cannot get all the nutrients and vitamins we need out of what we eat due to the poor soil quality (amongst other factors).
There is plenty of help, support and advice just in this section of SW alone. You do not need to do any program. You can loose the weight yourself.
It is a well known fact that most people who go on any program and/or diet... they most likely will gain that lost weight back.

Jenny Craig - No Go
Decided to not go with the program after all. I think I'll just stick to working out and cut back on some drastic calorie intake and keep an eye out for helpful books and online sites. Kind of a drag but customer service for Jenny Craig was also a sign; TALK ABOUT SOME SERIOUS FLAKES!! :-*

Re:Jenny Craig
Jenny Craig, WW, La Weightloss, Etc...these programs are for anyone that needs to be held accountable...examples are weekly weigh-ins, diaries, and one on one meetings. And some of the programs, yes are very over priced. They do work!!! But, when following these programs it is important to remember that it is a LIFESTYLE change. What people don't realize that after they hit there goal weight...is that they need to still make healthy choices...otherwise-------you'll be back where you started at and a bit more. So, I hope you do find a program that does fit into your lifestyle......goodluck

Re:Jenny Craig
I use to work at Jenny Craig. I was the Program Director and I was on there program and granted I did lose some weight.
Now that I am off the program I lose more then I did when I did the program. Its very costly and the food isn't that great but I don't know what your goals or what your eating habits are.
What I did that might help you was I cut out all the junk, fast food and no sodas just water or the flavor water with zero calories they are at WalMart. And I started to workout. Start with walking 30 minutes then start with jogging for 35.
I also do weight lifting and a double cardio session I was 220 and now 145. If I can do it so can you its just about eating and taking care of yourself and believe me if you think Jenny Craig will help you then hey go for it but I lost more on my own. Good luck!

Re:Jenny Craig
Thanks honeygymgirl but I decided to not go with Jenny Craig and try to do it on my own with some helpful books and sites. I had a pretty bad time with them yesterday and it was turning out to be pretty costly.
