Pretty girls don't make money all the time
I've been dancing for 7 years, and I want to know why the pretty girls are'nt makeing good money these days? Maybe it's just the clubs by me. I live in southern Wisconsin by Lake Geneva. The best looking girls at my club are'nt makeing shit. Are guys sick of pretty women, or am I just in the wrong place? I f anyone knows of a good club in the Wisconsin/Illinois area please help me.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Maybe your idea of a pretty women isn't the national idea of what "pretty" is... maybe it's only at Lake Geneva standards. Sorry to be blunt.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
I think it depends on a lot of factors. I see pretty girls banking, but I also see girls that are not as pretty do as well and sometimes better. It's not all about looks. But if EVERY pretty girl in your club is making nothing and the ugly girls are banking EVERY night, maybe there is something going on that you don't know about (like extras). Otherwise I have no idea.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Someone told me that the ugly girls sometimes bnk more becuase they are more attainable than the pretty girls. Guys may think that they have more of a chance. Makes a little sense to me although I would try for the best looking ones but I've never claimed to understand the male mind anyway!

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Maybe it's because pretty girls don't approach that much the customers ? They may be more like he as to come chasing after since i'm so pretty and don't need to work as hard ? I don't know it's just a taught !

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
I think what all of the girls here posted is true. Usually, if you are a pretty girl by usual standards, you do not have to work as hard as an ugly girl (by usual standards), because your prettiness will attract the guys. Obviously, it is different at this club. The guys sound more like Susan-Va stated--insecure and intimidated by beautiful women. The uglier ones seem more on their level, so they go to them. It sounds like you have to be the one to go up to them first, instead of not approaching them that much, such as Crystal-Eyes says. However, if they are as Noelle says, and they are always making money and you are making none, then those girls might be doing extras. Either that, or they are really good at verbal communication and flirting.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
I tried out a new club recently, and it was weird - the dancers making the most $$$ were two VERY heavy blonde women in their forties, both OK in the face, but nothing special. I'm assuming they'd been dancing for a while and knew their stuff. Also, a lot of the customers that day were Latino, and in my experience they're often attracted to the blond, chesty type.
Maybe what you're noticing has to do with the type of customers at the club; they might have a different idea of "pretty" than you do. Also, IMO, being super-hot is more important at bigger "party" clubs; at "neighborhood" places, it's all about being friendly. I don't know this, just seems like a general trend I've noticed and heard about from more experienced dancers.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
I swear it's true I was at this new club and this fat (not a little bit fat ...) dancer was getting dances after dances but I was seeing her talking alot with all the customers and not wasting her time talking and having a drink with them she was all buisness and we were complaining (alot of very pretty girls also) that we were not making $$ and the manager said go get the guys if she can make money you can ! And I don't think she was doing extras since the booths were all open and the bouncer was always checking ! I think that no matter what you look like you gotta hussle !

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Being a "10" as opposed to a "7" or "8" really has no direct connection to the ability to make money in this industry. The overall look of a woman means substantially more than just whether she is a "10" or not and there is much evidence to support this. By "overall look" I mean how is she dressed, does her makeup look nice, her hair, etc.? Even things down to piercings and tattoos make a substantially bigger impact than whether she is a "10" or not. For example, I don't care how gorgeous a woman is, if she has a full sleeve tattoo she probably won't do well in a club that caters to older conservative gentlemen because her overall look is to contrasting with the environment.
Another point to make as well is that regardless of what club I've been in to, the 80/20 rule of income is the same regardless of what the dancers look like. I've been in clubs where virtually every woman in there was a "10" and yet the income brackets are identical to that of any other club. Hence, having a room full of "10"s doesn't mean that they will all do well. A few do really well, a few more do okay, and the majority of them do sub-par. It's the same figures in any club, or more importantly, any sales industry in the country.

Okay...I'm going to post here...somewhat reluctantly...and if I am not supposed to respond in this area, for the love of God(s) someone please tell me promptly.
Speaking in total generalities from the past - whether in a club or not - the ladies who most would consider 8's tend to be a little more personable than the ladies who would be considered 10's. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE (disclaimer).

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
In my experience, how much money a girl makes in a night is very dependent upon her people skills. If a girl has a great attitude/good people skills plus the good looks, that it an unbeatable winning combination in any club in any part of the country.
Keep in mind that all people in the world of sales have slumps. Maybe your club is having it's slow time of year.
One thing is for sure though, if you and your co-workers are pretty and have a good attidude and you're still not making money compared to the less attractive girls, there is probably something nasty going on that no good-intentioned dancer can compete with.

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Everything that was said in this thread is really good advice. But if a beautiful girl has a kick ass personality, and doesn't wait to be approached by others she will rock as a dancer. One thing girls ALWAYS seem to forget is that a lot of men really are intimidated to initiate a conversation. Girls, especially pretty ones, need to SMILE and be as approachable as possible, because the common strip club goer will not think they have a chance in hell with a really really pretty girl.
As far as Lk. Geneva goes...... I used to work at the Sugar Shack.... ALOT goes on there that u might not think would. Get out of there and make the drive to Milwaukee like I do. There is a new club...Silk... On The border Rocks, and even some of those clubs in Beloit are really good. MS. MontaNA SUCKS!!!!

Re:Pretty girls don't make money all the time
You are working in a small town. I work in small towns in the Upper Midwest myself.
In a smaller town club you have more farmer type customers and a slower paced mentality.
These types of guys want someone who is very friendly and who will spend time talking to them before trying to hustle them for money. Your hustle must be more discreet in a small rural club.
Therefore, a girl with a very pretty face and nice body who is impeccably dressed must approach all the customers, be easy to talk to, fun and friendly, and somewhat soft and laid back, and not display a strictly business attude in the type of club you are in.
These kinds of customers who have money to spend like to patronize a club where they know the owners and staff and feel "at home" before they spend money.
And also the older dancers anywhere tend to be better communicators and are more in sync with the older customers. In most small clubs I work at the older dancers tend to have nice costumes, are well kept and have a large following of middle aged customers. These women also keep in touch with their regulars and are comfortable for the guys to be around.
The pretty younger girls many times but not always display a personna of not really wanting to be at work and the customers pick up on that. Some of them want the money to come to them.
No one is doing any extras in these clubs so that is not even an issue.
So if you or other girls who are 8+ on the Scores scale are not selling as well as you would like, watch how the girls who are outselling you interact with the customers and COPY them.
In many clubs I work in in these small towns the girls go on stage once an hour and then sit down and only dance for guys who approach them.
To make money girls have to get directly off stage and walk around chatting with the guys and then trying to sell them dances.
I am one of the top selling girls, or right behind the top selling older dancers who have been working the area and have a ton of regulars, every time I book in these clubs.
Guys ARE buying dances, just not from certain girls, so the money IS there.
The best medicine for girls who work in small towns is to be thrown in some big city high volume clubs where they are FORCED to go table to table and mingle, where NO customer will approach a girl for a dance unless the dancer approaches them first. And these girls need to experience a big city club where they only go on stage once a night and where stage tips won't even cover their tip outs!!
Girls need to learn how to approach EVERY customer and chit chat with them. Without ever setting foot in your club I know that is why the best looking girls aren't selling.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
i see the same thing in my club, and i'm lucky enough to have a regular who has me sit with him three nights a week, so i get to watch girls hustle a LOT (on nights when i actually have to work, i don't have the time to watch what other girls do). the reason the pretty girls won't make as much money? cause they don't try. they may make vips every now and again, but they usually don't do that many table dances, they don't hustle hard, they sit with people too long, etc. basicly, they're relying totally on their looks-- they know that they're pretty so they wait for people to approach them, and then sit with guys way too long because they're getting their egos stroked, but their garters aren't getting filled. they don't even dance on stage, just walk back and forth between the two poles, slightly sway their hips, and bat their eyelashes.
the girls who aren't that pretty, who have post-baby bellies, or crooked teeth, or cellulite, or whatever, have to work hard. they have to hustle, they have to present something other than just their looks as attractive. the fact of the matter is that while they know in the dressing room that they're not that pretty, with the lighting on the floor and their attention to detail with their hair and make-up, they get to be more than just pretty-- they get to be a fantasy, not just for the customers, but themselves. they bounce from table to table, they have a ton of fun, they're always smiling, and they typically get at least one vip every night. they don't have a lot of regulars, but they bank because they know their limitations and they cultivate habits and behaviors to overcome them.
they're not turning tricks in vip (in fact, the girls that i know do extras are often not the super-pretty homecoming queen types, but they're not the awkward, plain, or just downright ugly girls, either), they're just working harder. i don't know if this is the case at your club, but it sure is at mine.

Because looks have little to do with the ability to make money in this business. I go into clubs all the time that hire only "10s" and you see the identical income statistics as you would in any other club. I see it all the time, over and over again where the "girl next door" makes 3X the income as the Playboy centerfold simply because she's a more effective communicator and better salesperson.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Exceptionally beautiful people rely too much on their looks and not enough on their personalities.Just my opinion.

I think that is the case a lot of the time. They don't realize that a flip of the hair isn't great selling procedure and capturing someone's interest takes more than pretty looks.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Is this thread stating the obvious?
Of course they don't ! In this industry today , the key word is hustle! If you can't hustle, you'll go home with nada, and that's regardless of whether you look like a beauty queen or a bulldog. It's not so common anymore to see the pretty chick being carted off to the PD area dozens of times a night just because of her looks. The top earners in most clubs I've worked in are not above average at all but they can talk the talk.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
Clubs today are different then in the 90's. I think it still takes a very attractive lady to help with her customer skills. I danced at my share of clubs, and seen "ood" nights were a good looking dancer would stand around doing nothing, and have customers talk to her, before you know it she is doing ld's. And other nights i have seen plain Jane's hustling their ass off along side much better looking ladies, and get more dances!
It will always swing both ways, because we are dependent on the crowd mainly. Sometimes NO matter what you do, you will have a very bad night. It's not you if you are working t, it's the crowd.
The next night you may do what you have done the night before, and bank!
This all boils down to looking clean, sexy and having great customer skills, along with the customers who are there on your shift, get to know customers!
You can be an 11 and suck at this job. Pretty girls get jaded at times, and they either quit, or get out of that "rut," so they can make $$ again, plain girls feel they have to work harder i believe because they see all the "better looking" dancers and think these girls will get all the customers with little to no work. Not true, the customers at the club are the ones who determine who they want, and why.
Of course like i said work the crowd, be happy, and like what you do. It shows. I have noticed the "too much make-up" thing.....Hoily shit.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
There is also undercutting where if the dances are $20 some girls are offering them for 10. At one club I worked at there was a girl offering $5 dances until she was found out and the other girls were going to kick her *ss.

Re: Pretty girls don't make money all the time
It's all in the sales...how do you sell yourself to the customer? Tina said it, it's all about the way you approach the men in the club, be friendly and outgoing.

Sorry, but I'm sick of hearing the "pretty" girls whine. Get off your ass and work.
