Which ones are the best & what town is it located in?
Hard to believe, I heard there aren't that many!! Is this true? Cali is huge, & I figured there be lots of places!
i'm trying to get the same info as you! lol sucks
They suck! Well, I'm gonna be blunt. You won't make a fortune and the clubs tend to be dumpy/ on the bad side of town. I'm talking about Northern California. SF is famous for some clubs, but it's an "open" city, in the best and worst senses.
The most ideal area seems to be the South Bay Area. Someone else has to explain LA, I cannot.
Stay away from san francisco. I work at one of the ''nicer'' club's and it's topless only on stage. But money can be eiether very good(a grand a night, but this is rare) or very bad like leaving with 30 dollars.
It is very inconsistent.
Unless your willing to go to one of the clubs that are famous for doing extra's like mitchell brothers or one of the other market street clubs then I woulden't suggest san fran.
I worked at hustler for 3 months when I first moved here and now work at broadway showgirls which is very clean and for the most part a good club. But like I said inconsistent money :-[
Here is the website for my club
Good luck.
LA is competive dancing... and mostly nude with a couple topless. Ranging from high contact to none. Money depends on where you work. Theres alot of feature nights more than I've seen elsewhere. There are a couple . San Bernardino county has a couple of clubs topless and nude... they are high mileage clubs with less competitiveness among dancers the farther inland you go. A decent night there is 200 bucks. Don't know much about Orange County.
I've heard the Spearamint Rhino is really good in LA from one of my regulars. He said there's also bed dances, which some people are not comfy with, esp if you're nude. I can't really speak from experience in Cali 'cause I was asking about it a while ago when I was going on a road trip (never danced there.) But the only one I know that's good is that one and some girls I know from Florida said that the Deja Vu was alright for them too. Good luck hunnie.
I moved OUT of California two years ago....THANK GOD!
In SoCal you have 2 choices: nude full contact extra clubs, or bikini non-contact clubs. The Spearmint Rhino and DeJa Vu chains are known for taking a 30-40% cut of dancer earnings. This forces dancers to overcharge customers in the VIP areas (in return for extras of course) in order to make a decent profit.
I worked at Mr Js in Orange County for 2 years, but that was in 99-01. There was zero contact, and the stage tips were good. Fritz in Bellflower and Fritz II in Anaheim are worth a look....but keep in mind that 250-400 is the average take-home.
From 2001-02 I worked in San Francisco at The Gold Club, Boys Toys (now Broadway Showgirls) and Hustler. Since DeJa Vu owns all three of these clubs now, you can expect relatively high base fees plus a house cut for every VIP dance you sell. Even the topless (er...pastie) clubs in SF have a fair share of extras. Since the house makes money from the VIP, management has a tendency to turn their heads when their profitable VIP girls bend the rules. If you sell VIP, then you can easily have a 1000 dollar night. But if you are stuck on the floor, you may only walk with 100 bucks after paying fees and tip-out. Ironically, my average take home was only a little bit higher in SF than it was in SoCal (350-500) and I had to deal with so much more contact!
Good Luck, there is a reason why all the Friday night flights to Vegas are full of California dancers!
Thx for the info girls! :-* I'm not from Cali, i'm from the east coast but I was just curious incase if I ever do move over there. :) ;)
Having danced for 5 years in California, I totally agree with Britney's assessment of the strip club industry in Cali. Most of the money to be made is in high contact nude clubs, where extras frequently occur. Topless clubs are generally clean but earnings are very, very low. Most dancers who want to work topless only usually end up leaving California to go work in either Arizona or Nevada.
Also, many of the clubs in Cali are corporate owned by either Deja Vu or Spearmint Rhino, so even though there are many clubs in Cali, your choices become very, very limited if you don't like working for those companies.
I love working at Hustler in SF, but as said before, money can be inconsistent. This might be due to the economy, because it's only been that way for the last 6 months or so. Expect high mileage laps at the alcohol clubs and even higher at the nude clubs (think full contact nude laps). Mitchell Brothers, Market Street Cinema and New Century are known for their extras, so stay away unless you want to get involved in that.
Hustler, Gold Club and Showgirls are good for topless and fairly clean, and any club in the Broadway/North Beach area is a good bet to avoid the extras market.
I would recommend staying away from San Diego, they have strange county laws. As far as LA, the market is saturated with clubs and it is harder to make money there.
I had lived in california the year before last and it was pretty decent to me, no complaints really. ::) Then Florida for a year which was pretty good and now California again. Now it's even worse here-I hate the spearmint rhino and thats all we really have. :banghead: They take out like 48 percent of my earnings. Those Bastards!!! >:(
san fran probably has the most money out of cali....i tried the nicest clubs and all but money wise they sucked - if you do work in a club where extras do happen and you are a DDE (doesn't do extras ) girl , you can still make more money than anywhere else - you won't keep as many regulars but there's a lot of tourists coming in and out . All you gotta do is tell them one thing , take the money , than tell them "but sweetie prostitution is illegal " and leave . I never thought I could do this b4 and I dont do it to everyone but it works
This is so true! I have given up on california clubs and will be happy when I move on.Quote:

Anyway, Great description of the san fran clubs brit. The 100 dollar nights are unfourtuntly becoming more and more frequent even previous top money makers are leaving with 20 bucks on nights when their regulars can't come in. Which is how most f the girls in my clubmake there money. It sucks. I hope for everyone in california's sake something changes. :(
Cali sucks.I'm moving back to New Orleans where the real money is.
I live in Orange County, Ca and have been able to make about $300-400 a night consistently at Fritz Too in Anaheim (topless no, touching club). On busy nights I can make $500-$600 or more.
But the clubs in Cali aren't as nice as most other places... they are a lot of the time run down older buildings. This gets depressing and boring for me. I like to work someplace with a little ambiance.
So I go work in Las Vegas on the weekends 2-3 times a month. It's only a 1 hour flight or a 4 hour drive. And I usually go with a dancer friend from Cali so it makes for a good road trip. =)
OTB-I thought about going to New O for a few months becouse I keep hearing the money is good. Are the clubs clean there?Quote:

 Britney on the Friday night Vegas flights. Very true, the CA dancers are keeping airlines' Vegas routes profitable.Quote:

In SF, I've never experienced any extras (though I'm not someone who'd ask for them in most instances), but when you go in a club, you get labeled as a customer pretty quick, and if they think you're too young, or appear cheap (even if you're spending), you get avoided like that. And anyone under 25 (that I've known) gets the 'Hands off' lecture and get watched like hawks.
I got the 'Hands off the bikini area' thing in my head so much that when I went to the Spearmint Rhino in LA when I moved there, I was sitting on my hands with the first lap dance I got, and after a minute, the girl just grabbed my hands and put them right on (in) her, telling me "You are the first guy in three months who just didn't start groping me, so go ahead and do what you like." (Didn't make sense to me, but whatever)
Anyways, I disliked LA clubs even more, because most of the clubs were very neighborhood-ish (only the type of people from that neighborhood would come in...either really really low class or really really high class), and I didn't really fit in anywhere. And I prefer full nude, which is disappearing (it seems) from the LA area.
Like I said somewhere else, I pretty much only go to strip clubs when I visit Vegas anymore.
However, it'd be nice to see some more clubs take advantage of Silicon Valley. Lots of money in the area, and I don't know of a single full nude/contact dance club in the area. (Maybe some've changed since I last looked...but hey, I like lap dances.
It's interesting, as a customer, to hear the comments about California clubs. I've just been to two - a mild but expensive club in San Francisco with a topless stage where no one tipped and a bikini lapdance - and the other one, a Spearmint Rhino in the LA area, and it was a contact nude club with constant, constant hustle. It's the most soulless place I've been to. I'm understanding why now.
The Problem with NorCal- conservative communities and a crummy economy. I think outcall has too firm of a foothold in the area too. A shame really, because some of the people in that business are really, really bad people. I don't mean the entertainers. I mean the agency owners and bookers. No souls....if it's any consolation, they frequently get theirs. You know the saying about Give someone enough rope, and they'll hang themselves.....
Funny to hear NorCal get commented on for it's 'Conservative' communities, when it is so famous for being liberal...but that doesn't mean it's not accurate.
What's sad is that, aside from those civic issues, I'd imagine it's ripe for a creative and realistic owner. The clubs are not exactly top notch, so competition is low, and while the job market is a little depressed, the Bay Area proper is still filled with a sizable middle class, several universities and a number of fairly rich families with people who could make a club profitable.
For an area that at least has one of the most publicized Dancer's Rights groups around, it sure doesn't seem like anyone's willing to give it a go.
I was from NorCal well Sacramento...worked at a few clubs while I was there. The range of contact I saw there was none to medium contact. Medium contact including nipples being sucked right next to me as I was giving a dance and hoping the guy I was dancing for wouldnt look over and say "hey I want that!"
From what I know that particular area of NorCal is pretty conservative...but we all have our stories...wink wink.
There is the SF clubs (which I've never danced at fear of being groped or constantly being propositioned ) a guy said once to me "Why should I get a dance?...I could get a HJ and BJ in SF for 60 bucks!!" He wasnt mad just grossed me out instead. That was just his thing I guess.
To be honest, I think the CA clubowners are afraid to try to run a big, exciting strip club because the overhead and taxes would be high. And then they couldn't pull the little sneaky tricks they do to hide money from the IRS if by all appearances, they had a visibly profitable, high-profile club.....
I find this all very interesting. I am from Cali, (Pisom Beach), I moved here to Ark wheni was only 14 so i had never been to a club or even though about it. I went out there a few month ago to visit family. I visited Gold Club Centerfolds in Sacremento, which frankly I thought sucked, I didnt work, just watched, but didnt get the feeling that there was any money there. I only kno wof a few others in Sac but since everybody tole me that GCC was th best i didnt even bother checking them out. I found out about Spirament Rhino in Santa Maria, (close to my home town) so I checked it out. I talkted to the door girl. She said that if i was used to naking more then a 100 a night i would not like this club. It was very small and i was not impressed. I was wondering if there was any good clubs anywhere else because I go out there often for family. This answers my question great. When I go back, I will just have to keep in mind that dancing is not an option.
