Dancer from london to New York
Hi Everyone..
I am a feature dancer from London and i am coming to New York On the 16th for month and want to work in the upscale New york clubs just wondering are they easy hiring dancers from abroad with no work permit though i have a visa of course? The problem is you can't get work permit visa with a dancer job because its not classed at degree level lol ;D

In the USA, the Patriot Act requires clubs to check the identities and citizenship of "employees". While many privately owned clubs don't really do this, the vast majority of the "corporate" clubs in the USA will need to see a dancer's ID plus proof of citizenship (like a US state driver's license), or a "green card" (legal resident alien), or a work visa. Of course it is the "corporate" clubs which offer the high earnings potential you're seeking !The Patriot Act specifically prohibits businesses from employing foreign nationals who only have a visitors visa or student visa.
If you are a feature, you should be able to get a work visa through the US embassy/consulate providing you make advance booking arrangements with one of the Manhattan clubs or have made advance arrangements with a US feature booking agent like . "House" dancers have essentially zero chance of getting a US work visa, but "feature" dancers shouldn't have a problem providing the feature can provide a schedule of which US clubs she's being booked into as well as a starting and ending date for her tour.
