How can I find my "lost" music files?
Hi folks, first of all I am rather computer challenged so bear with me.
My computer crashed a couple weeks ago, specifically windows would not start. One of the files was corrupted. So I reinstall windows thinking that all is lost (all 700+ songs grrrrrrr>:( ) Anyhow, as I'm running my virus scan, I see all the music files fly by! So they are still on my computer. The question is, where? How can I find them??

Have you tried doing a search for the files? Usually in windows you can do a search for .wav or something like that...
Hope that helps!
Re: How can I find my "lost" music files?
thanks vg, that seems to have worked but I can't play the music now because I have not yet reinstalled the drivers (?) Apparently I now have two copies of windows on my computer. I wonder if I'll delete all the music if I get rid of one of the windowsXP's...

don't wait around for this to happen again. get a backup external and internal hard drive. I place all of my music on the internal hard drive away from the drive running windows. I take my music with me on the external drive. I advise at least a 120 gb to 160 gb drive. Better safe than sorry. out.
