Here are a few more pictures of my boy Frazier. :P
I'm almost as drawn towards pets as I am towards dancers. *grin* This is a great thread. I see lots and lots of wonderful little furry companions.

She's precious!!! I love to hear the saving stories... My lucy is an SPCA dog she was on her last day when I adopted her.. I like to be able to say I took home the most miserable dog in there. She was filthy with over forty ticks on her that I had to pick off (the VETs were closed on Sunday and I got her on Saturday.) Aside from having emoitnal issues she's an awesome lil girl.Quote:

That's great to hear Jenny!
This is my little Yeya playing hide and run... :) she was hiding at the top of the stairs.
What a great collection of pics! All so cute! :-*
I have to share my 2 little girls that mean everything to me.....nothing is better than the way a dog greets you and licks your face!
Hope I did this right..
This is my dog Trouble. And boy does she live up to that name
My Shar Pei, Chocolate. He was born in Mexico and entered the US as an illegal alien. LOL My friend in Arizona bought him for me as an excuse so I'd go visit her and pick him up... worked too! }:D
Okay, My son found this baby bird in a field today. The nest was broken and the other babies were all dead. This one was pretty feeble, but my wife called the SPCA and they can't take it til tomorrow but they said to try giving it Pedialyte on a little paintbrush. Now it's all hyper and wanting to be fed like every 15 minutes. So ugly it's cute! I have no idea what kind of bird it is, but at Rhiannon's request here are a few pics of the little thing.
Here, have some pictures of my catloaf, Ghost. ;D
And more, damned limit on attatchments! ^____^;
My kitty Roxy and My 2 year old gecko Max, my buds ;D
I rescued a baby bird and had to keep it for over a week before I could take it to a rescue centre. I fed it on cat food (don't use dog food) from my finger. It needed feeding every 30-60 minutes, and don't forget to give it a drop of water every now and again as well. Try not to handle it, and make sure you clear it's waste sacks. I made a nest from an old towel and kept it warm with warm water in a wrapped bottle if it looked cold.
Here's a pic - it ate the whole can in around 8 days.
aww headboy that is such an adorable story, I actually got a bit tearful at the cute pics :-[ !
Well, we took the above pictured birdie to the shelter place, and they said they regretfully had to refuse it. It's a European Starling, considered a "nuisance" bird, and not native. They were very helpful though and gave us care instructions if we wanted to attempt to raise it. So far it seems to be doing very well, eating about every 30 minutes or so. The center folks sent us to a great site, www.starlingtalk.com. After reading over everything and having a family meeting, it looks like we're going to keep it and raise it as a pet. They live 15-20 years! (Ordinarily I would never attempt to keep a wild animal as a pet, but the shelter folks assured us we didnt need any permits in this state and that with proper care they make excellent additions to the family.) I'll post pictures as he/she gets bigger and stronger just for giggles.
Yay Chris! I'm glad your keeping the birdy! Did you name him/her yet?
Lil Ron, that boston terrier is soooo cuuute, my mom has one
that looks just like that!
Nope, the birdie has no name yet. They're difficult to sex before they're adults, and even then the only way to be 100% sure is a surgical check. We'll figure out a name that probably can be applied to either gender. This thing is eating up a storm though, lemme tell ya. I feel so maternal right now it's ridiculous.
this is Piggy... he hates cameras!!!

Alright.. Posting this by request. I didn't have this "pet" for very long. He was quite playful though, crawling out from behind the fridge and speeding down the hallway to avoid the mists of raid on his tail. Didn't name him, and I made Hubby flush him shortly after I snapped this pic and woke him up by doing so.. Heh
Midtown's infested with these bastards.
Chris - watch out for small blisters appearing under the birds wings. If t was a cat that ripped the nest, it could have picked up some germs from the cat's mouth. If you see them, then the bird wil need a simple injection.
Here are some pics more for you - it really enjoyed the cat food, and the old Labrador that we were looking after at the time, enjoyed the company. The bird was very healthy and went to a wildlife rescue centre to learn its bird stuff from some young blackbirds. It was a song thrush, so it was worth rescuing.Quote:

Right now the only "pets" I've got are 3 frogs in the pond. How do you tell which is/are the female(s) when 3 of them are at it?
