I only used it twice, so i will say it was a "feel good product." My face felt very soft after. That is the felling you soon get. But, i don't use it enough, never bought the kit.
I have read that this stuff is no better than over the counter Alpha Hydroxy lotions 10%.
I guess sand at the beach would do the same, followed by a sunscreen. Dunno.
It can't compare to micro. at a derms office, that's pretty harsh stuff the doc. uses.
I love Loreal products, but this one i have no sucks or not yet, it has to be used alot, not twice. I can see how it takes off dead skin, just like a rough wash cloth, and the lotion, well, sunscreen, but the active ingredient is not near strong enough. That's just my thoughts on the product.
I see lots of others popping up however, i would pick the strongest one if i bought one, but that is me. Retian A still rocks!

and yes pamela,,,, sand would prob do the trick too...
I buy my face powder and moisturizer from Beauti-Control. They have a microdermabrasion kit as well and I've used theirs. I can tell a difference in my skin when I use it. I tend to get a lot of dry dead skin on my cheeks and this has been the only thing to work on that. I bought the Microderm creme and the Microderm buffer. The creme is $50 and the buffer is $10, but they are a lot cheaper than treatments at the spa. I usually get about 12 uses out of one jar of creme. I use it once per week. People who are in their 40s or older or have sun damaged skin are recommended to use it 2x per week. My mother-in-law has also used this product and her skin looks a lot healthier and younger. She uses it 2x per week because she has sun-damaged skin (has lived in CA and FL for most of her life and her face took constant beatings from the sun).
You can only buy their products from a rep. You can go online at www.beauticontrol.com to find a rep near you.
I spent $25. It totally sucks ass! My skin felt a bit smoother the first time, but 2 weeks later it still looked and felt the same. Buy the apricot scrub instead, its $3 and works better for basic exfoliation!
I buy actual miscrodermabrasion crystals used in microdermabrasion machines, and mix it into my favorite lotion/oil and scrub my face (after cleasing it).
Be sure to use a very gentle lotion with no artificial colors, fragrances, or irritants. I prefer using plain jojoba oil.
I also do 30-40% lactic acid (as effective but more gentle than glycolic acid) peels myself at home. I have a favorite supplier. She's out of the microdermabrasion crystals and lactic acid peels, but I will post a link as soon as she posts them again online.
