Who should I tip...and how much?
I am starting a new job as a cocktail waitress, until I lose some baby fat that I acquired during my pregnancy. After which I am planning on dancing at my new location of employment. My questions are:
A) Who do I tip?
B) How much?
C) Do cocktail waitresses tip?
Also I am 5'11 and don't feel comfortable in 4inch heels, are regular high heels OK, or are there other alternatives?
Thanks
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
you will probably only have to tip the bartender, and she will be able to explain it to you.
I think the waitresses at my club tip her 20%
You should ask your management what you can wear, but don't be afraid of the height!
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
Waitresses at the clubs where I've danced didn't have a specific shoe requirement. Some wore flats. In fact, a couple of them were ex-dancers who had ankle injuries and couldn't wear heels much anymore.
As for tipping, check with the other waitresses and the bartender. I'd SUGGEST you also tip the guy who escorts everyone to their cars (just like the dancers do). He'll keep an eye on your car for you, and the back lot can be pretty friggin dangerous. I used to tip him $5 a night, but I'd think even a couple of dollars would be plenty.
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
Thanks girls for all your responses...I will let you know how it goes!
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
Quick joke. Sorry if you've already heard it.
Q: What's the difference between a strip club waitress and a strip club dancer?
A: About 3 weeks.
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
A 4 inch heel is good for a tall woman. That is considered short in this business. Guys like the sexiness of heels on a woman so in my opinion not wearing heels could impact your sexiness.
I am around 5'9" and usually wear 6 inch heels at work but nothing higher. A 6 inch heel is the standard dancer heel although some girls wear 7's.
In 3 weeks, especially with some working out, like Susan teased, you should be ready to sell lap dances instead of drinks.LOL
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
I'm not sure about tipping, but just wanted to say that you shouldn't be self-conscious about your height. Remember that you will be working amongst dancers who wear 5", 6", and 7" heels that put many of them well over 6 feet. My sister is also your height and I sure wish some of those inches had come my way! I'm only 5'4".
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
OK, so I wore 6inch heels with no problem...I got over being the tallest one there quickly enough. As for the tipping goes, I asked the manager who I should tip and he was very helpful! He said to tip the bartender, DJ, and bouncers when they walk you to your car. So thank you to everyone for the helpfull advice...I had a great first night back!
And that joke is so true!!! lol
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
Cocktail waitresses tip the DJ? Wow. I didn't know that.
Re: Who should I tip...and how much?
I was told to tip the DJ if he gives me a high paying client to serve...Go figure!
