Mandatory Meeting
After reading some threads on how innocent dancers who were not doing extras are being arrested during raids, I'm happy to know my club has a mandatory meeting by the liquor board....
Basically it means if a customer were to claim I tried to sell him drugs/sex,
the club lawyer would go to bat for me right?...I just have to listen to rules & sign a paper.
OT-And 4 girls got fired this week for being seen out at a nearby resturant(they couldn't even go 30 minutes away??) with customers...This is evil but that makes me happy in a sick way...their stupidity makes other guys have unrealistic expectations of us. :-X

Re: Mandatory Meeting
Ummm...just because the club has a lawyer...doesn't mean he'll go to bat for you. I would strongly suggest you get the low-down on that. He'll go to bat for the club stating that the club had no knowledge of you doing that and had taken all necessary steps to get you fired and is cooperating fully to get you convicted if need be. Don't just assume that the club is going to help you. I, again, strongly suggest that you carefully read what the club is willing (and not willing) to do for it's dancers.

Re: Mandatory Meeting
It's good that your club has decided to have these mandatory meetings. I wish my club, back in the day, had these. It would've prevented many problems from occurring.

Re: Mandatory Meeting
I worked briefly at a club that held mandatory meetings. They were, imo, a crock of poop. A pep talk to help us sell more t-shirts and other ways to make the club more money.
EPD, I think it's good they hold meetings to keep you girls up to date on laws and such but I would be very wary of thinking that just because you attend these meetings and signed some paper that you will come out squeaky clean in the event of any raid/bust.

Re: Mandatory Meeting
One of the Old Skool Strip club legalities/rules was........IF a Dancer met with a MAN who PAID to get into her Club within the previous 24 hours she COULD be convicted of soliciting and IF she had sex with a paying customer within that 24 hours she was guilty of Prostitution. These laws/ordinances/interpretations have thier origins in the Speak Easys and 10 cent a dance halls of the early 1900's and most ARE Still on the books today.... even tho seldom enforced. This is the "legal" reason that husbands/boyfriends/significant others are not allowed into Clubs. IF he paid to get IN and then YOU go home and screw him .....Its prostitution.
As for your "Club Meetings" they are legally meaningless but do indicate that the club would defend you ...ALONG WITH ITSELF .... against prosecution (as in a Drug deal on thier premises where the Customer tried to sell YOU drugs or solicited YOU for sex). I doubt if it would apply if it was YOU being charged with the crime unless there was some liability on the Clubs part. SOMETIMES this is just a matter of who PAYS the lawyer and SOME Clubs WILL back up thier Dancers ..... Doesn't mean They HAVE to tho. Just they CAN if they want.

Re: Mandatory Meeting
Actually the meetings are only for the clubs benefit so they dont lose their liquor license. It protects them legaly not you. Clubs in cleaarwater and tampa have them frequently. But they in no way assure that if you do something wrong a lawyer will represent you. In some cases though if the club does get busted they have a lawyer who will represent the dancers for free. It will still be responsible for fines and of course you would still have a record. I would specifically ask what exactly the club will do for you if something does occur.
