Upscale club-NY, my audition
OK..so, I've read a lot of the posts on here for the past few weeks. I'm a Cali girl and was recently in New York and decided to give it a go and audition for ****(want to be a little discreet, PM if you want) on a whim. I checked it out with a guy friend the first night,; very upscale, beautiful club and FULL of people on a wednesday night..was very surprised...they even have massage girls there, and I got one! So..I go back a few nights later, after speaking with the manager that first night, telling him I wanted to try out. So I go in and sit for a little bit to get my bearings, then find the manager and tell him Im ready. I had no idea what to expect..was there a private room for me to audition in?!? I wondered this but didnt ask. So then I went to the dressing room and was told to get dressed.. I was able to borrow a slinky silver dress and silver heels..the makeup guy did my makeup and wished me good luck. So I go out and , what do you know, Im put on stage, on this busy night (!!!)..I have no idea what to do...small stage shared with 2 or 3 other girls...so I just remember to smile and move slow (altho that is sooo hard for someone like me who has been trained in all types of dance and is dying to boogie, lol) and I get a little nervous so I start talking to the guys at the tip rail a little bit telling them it was my audition...I pick up a few tips and a guy from the back of the room I see looks at me so I start dancing just for him, he comes up and I shake his hand and ask his name and he says he'd love a dance when Im done....I finish my set..I go over to him and tell him I dont know if Im hired or not but if I am that Id be back and I go back to the manager.....he tells me to go get dressed:-\ . Then he hands me a card to another club, a sister club, and tells me to audition for the guy there...so I dont really know how to feel...sure, I am new and dont know ALL the ropes, but sometimes you wish you could just luck out you know? So, Im wondering if this is a bad sign or a good one..he also asked how long Id be in NYC since he knew I was visiting and I told him if I were hired that I could stay indefinitely but that my ticket was to leave in a few days....(he asked this before I got dressed). I guess it's better than being told, "thanks, we'll put you on the waiting list". As I was leaving, one of the bouncers told me he thought I had a great body but that I looked so young(I'm 21) and innocent and not DIRTY (hey, i thought that was a good thing!?!?) but that the other club, although slow, wasnt so bad and that maybe I could rotate in. So...Im back in Cali...wondering if it is worth it to just go out there and see what happens..I know alot of you arent too keen on California strip clubs..and I see a definite difference between the two! Maybe I could try some other clubs in the meantime? Im willing to give it my all, Im just hoping I will be able to find a reputable club and be able to LIVE in NYC...what a fabulous city! I survived the audition and I am hoping to gain some insight from you lovely ladies!
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
1st off, I think you're gorgeous... so I don't think you'll have trouble getting a job regardless of where you are... if NYC was that great you should just giver and go back... see what else you can get... if your auditions went as you said they did... then you'll probably find something quickly... and ... question... did you get the job at the second club... or no?
G. Luck... Tank xo
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
yeah, The reason he told you to go to the sister club may not have been because you were not good enough for that one, but for some other reason. You should have asked more questions. Alot of clubs dont want to hire girls that have never danced before, that may have been why he sent you over there. Usually if they dont like the way you look or something, they will just tell you no, not send you to there sister club.
I would go back. Just remember that there are a lot of clubs, just because one dosent like you does not mean others wont. Plus, some just have too many girls and are not hiring or the manager might be in a bad mood. Who knows.
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
Thanks, Taketta and Lady! I went and checked out the other club..it's a smaller club and it was a slow night there(a thursday) and I said hello to the manager and that I wasnt in town for long. I was worrying over paying NYC rent if that club stayed that slow, but maybe it was just a bad night. I did not audition there, but I am seriously considering going ahead out there in December or January and seeing what happens with that club and auditioning at other clubs as well when I go. I feel hopeful..and I would love to get my bearings and really learn the ropes, so I guess I'll keep saving up here and give it a go!
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
I don't know much about NYC clubs but I wanted to say you are BEAUTIFUL, and they probably just didn't hire you because you hadn't danced before, and at an upscale club that's more important. You should definitely dance somewhere else and try again when you have more experience!
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
You are gorgeous! I think you will do very well wherever you go, maybe at that club they do just want more experienced girls, so go back a little later when you're more comfortable on stage. Although the customers seemed to love you, so the manager should have taken that into consideration. But oh well... his loss.
Re: Upscale club-NY, my audition
Thanks, everyone! Im looking into travelling overseas and dancing with an agency so I'll let you know if I get a booking to do that. I will keep you all abreast on what happens. I am not sure if I should try and dance at an LA club in the meantime as I am not even sure I will be staying in Califoria for much longer..do you think club managers would mind a short stint?
