I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Last night, and it was lots of fun! I didn't make that much, well I didn't danced that much either. My whole night was paper work, meeting the staff, going over the club rules with the manager, and getting to know the place. I probably danced like 4-5 hours. I was really nervous at first too. My first time on stage I sort of fucked it up a bit, haaa. But hopefully no one noticed. My skin was so burnt from tanning too, I couldn't move it. So uncomfortable. I didn't sleep Friday night bc I was out celebrating my GF's bday & it was the last time that I was going to hang out with them since i'm gonna be dancing now, I only slept 2 hours. So I went to work like that with little rest bc I had lots of running around to do. I wasn't tired in the club but when I got out I fell asleep driving, my car is wrecked & thank God nothing happened to me. It was a terrible first night for me. But all in all, I really did have fun doing it. What blows is the money I made is now going to be spent on my car accident. Bummer. :'( I should've never went last night in a way, better yet...went out on Friday. I didn't want to wait to dance any longer either.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Thank you girls! :)
I have the worse luck, lol. I'm trying not to let this get to me but.....
The shit now is, I don't even know how the F i'm gonna get to work now with no car! And there's no way in hell i'm gonna take cab & train to NYC, it's not safe. I'm a petite girl with this gigantic stripper bag & God forbid, with all these rape incedents that have been happening there lately....I just can't, not taking risks. As if I didn't take a risk last night already. :-[

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
When I travel in the city, I always carry Mace. I have always taken a cab from the hotel to work and back again, with no problems. When I worked at VIP back in the day (where the manager at Hustler now used to work) they would have a security guard outside opening the door to all the cabs for the ladies...and he would also write down the cab number, the time, etc.
I've also noticed that they do this at all the other clubs in Manhattan I've worked at, so I'm sure they are doing it at Hustler too. A cab should be safe for you, but depending on where you live, it might not be all that cheap.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
last week my driver friend got mad cause i didnt call him during the nite as agreed. he finally called my club at 4:30, half hour after closing. i had been freakin out cause he wasnt there. (i dont drive- i mite get a DWA, Driving While Asian, get it?, ha ha.) when they finally called me to the phone, he was SO pissed, and said,"you didnt call and i worried all nite, fuck you, take a taxi home!" and hung up. so a bouncer escorted me into a taxi. then the asshole taxi guy, seeing a lone stripper at almost 5am, pulled off the road a short distance from the club and insisted i sit up front next to him. i refused and we drove off but he kept asking and talking all the way home. i was scared shitless! but then the moron stupidly gave me his card with name/cab # on it. like, yeah rite, im SO gonna call you baby. in your dreams jerk. so after my friend and i made up the next morning, he called the taxi co. manager and reported the incident and hopefully got the guy in big shit. the good thing was that my friend bought me a cell phone that day so that we wont have this problem again. be careful in the taxi's! and if you say youre gonna call your S.O., do it.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Hey Vy.
Congrats about getting out there.
Sucks to hear about the car, but you're okay.
Even veterans have their moments on stage, gotta love a dancer with a sense of humor who can laugh it off. It is slippery up there.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Why don't you take public transportation going to the club, and get a car service to take you home?
-
Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Don't worry about the car, you'll get the money for a new one FAST ;D

It's not safe, i've seen the kind of scary ppl around subways and all. But i'm still going to see what i'm gonna do.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
I personally don't think it's safe to take a bus too and from work if your a dancer. It's easier for the weirdo stalker guys to attack you because your waiting for a bus vs. just getting in your car and leaving. I would take the bus too work when I worked dayshift but I would never take it to go home.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Just rent a car, they are pretty cheap. Congratulations on gettng hired, where are you working in NYC, is it one of our "dream" clubs like PEC?
Red Bull is your friend, drink lots of it...and OFTEN!

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
I live and work in NYC also. I personally take public trans too work. It's never after about 8:30 or so anyway, so everywhere is still really crowded. And at night the door guy hails a cab if there aren't the usual two or three right outside.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
i believe your insurance company may pay for a rental ?? sometimes at least

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
what club did you start at? I missed the other posts

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Or, if your car is being fixed at a body shop, many body shops have loaners. they are not usually the nicest cars in the world, but at least you wont have to take a cab or subway!.

I lived in New York for nearly 10 years. When I worked at Stiletto, I always took the train there, and even back, if I worked the swing shift. After midnight, I cabbed it. I felt perfectly safe and I never had any problems.

Re: I broke my dancing cherry last night!
Congratulations Vyanka you exotic dancer!! Hope you have a better 2nd night I bet you will because you'll have more time to work. Sorry about your car- that sucks! I started dancing a week ago and my car overheated and stalled my first night a couple blocks from work but got it to go after waiting 10 min and got to work ontime. I ended up buying a cheap stick shift car to replace it and share w my bf. I'm a little sad though because I can't drive stick and so I have to get rides and can't experiment with other clubs that maybe better business but are further away for quite a while.
Oh yeah we had to rent a car for a few days too- in Boston it's $25/day and they had a deal for I think $15 weekend days.
