Going to Australia
I want go to Australia. Ive never traveled for long periods of time because of my daughter but now Im thinking what the h*ll? My daughters 6, she would LOVE to travel and see new places... meet new people... I think it would be a great experience for her. And I so need a darn vacation!!!
Since her and I are both in school Im thinking of going there this summer (isnt this Aust. winter?) Im thinking of working a few nights a week. Only problem is finding a trustworthy nanny or babysitter out there...and a club to work at!
Anyone in Austrailia give me some info about their hometown during June-Aug. Not only dancing but activities, weather... stuff to do? What is the currency exchange from US-Aus. Places to live - short term housing options rather than a hotel... lots of questions!
Thanks Much!!!

Thanks

Re: Going to Australia
Fwiiw, I have traveled much of the First World with my family back when my kids were younger, and we never found any place more kid-friendly than Australia. They build all sorts of little systems and services into everything with kids and families in mind. From that point of view, at least, Oz would be a great place to visit with a child I think.

Re: Going to Australia
the BESTEST kid friendly place over winter is definatly the gold coast!!!
there is the beach, amusment parks, zoo etc. money is ok...over winter expect about AUD$300- $500 per night, depending on your hussle etc... your hot so i imagine this would be easy for you. :)
as for visas?? maybe GCG can help you on that one.
accommmodation, umm theres so many options over winter....theres thousands of places to stay.it just depends on how clos you want to be to work, adn if you will get your own car etc...
sydney and melbourne are bigger cities, as for activities for kids....maybe sydney is the better option, but its a lil more dangerous ( so ive heard) and melbourne damn cold in winter!! but the money is worth it there.
even if you worked in melbourne or sydny, and then had a weekend away with your daughter to the gold coast, it would be worth it.
gold coast girl has TONNES more info tho.
