Dancer's Background Check
How much of a checkup do SC's do on their new dancers? Do they really even bother? Or lets say if one girl was dancing at a club, she decides to quit & never told the club she was ever going to show up again. Would that harm her from getting to work in another club?
Re: Dancer's Background Check
clubs don't do background checks. That's vice's job.
Girls bail out on clubs all the time. They blow in and out like the wind in this industry. I guess the only harm would come from leaving one club on bad t erms and going to another club with the same owner. Maybe.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
From what I know about this area - no. It happens fairly often with new girls not showing up. However maybe if you live in areas where the clubs are all ran by the same company than it may hinder her from getting a job at another club.
as far as background checks - I have NEVER underwent one of those. More like ok, can I see your id Jill, ok change and get ready, and check in with dj when you're ready to go on stage.
Once again, that is just how they do it around here, in other parts of the country/globe it may be different. If you have a license I'm not sure how that works with background checks n stuff.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
vy, thinking of going to a different club?
They really don't care.

Not yet. But if I do, I want to know this before hand...lol. Yeah, I figured they wouldn't anyway.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
The only time that would hurt you is if you are working in a "chain". If you work at SR in CA and then leave on bad terms and then try to go work for SR in LV, that may prevent you from working...BUT, you never know!
I say never burn bridges if you can help it. Leave on good terms (give them the notice they require and don't bitch about it). That way, if you ever need to return for any reason, you can. ;)
Re: Dancer's Background Check
btw... how do you like your job? and how is your car?

Clubs don't give a sh*t enough to do these things, mainly because we're all so "replaceable" to them. There's always another pretty face to replace ours'...........according to them. Those bastards,LOL!!!
Re: Dancer's Background Check
Any background check would be limited to the same type of thing an apartment co. would do-- I also don't think it's very common. In cities that require dancer permits the city does a check for outstanding warrents and any convictions that are not allowed for the permit.
If you haven't committed a felony or have out standing warrents it should be a worry.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
i really don't think they do that, one sc loss is anothers gain.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
if you don't piss them off so the boss is warning other bosses about you - they won't care;)
and I have never heard of research on a dancer.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
Never had one of those for a SC.... but I'm going through a sort of dilemma tring to get a new apartment right now... total discrimination :(
Re: Dancer's Background Check
do you tell em wht you do - exactly - or do they inquire, find out and drop you??
I never had an experiemce like this and wuld imagine here it should be no too big problem. maybe most owners woudn't care as long as the income is there....
Re: Dancer's Background Check
Maybe not an official backround check but a girls reputation will follow her. There are a few girls that have tried to work at another club in the area and haven't gotten hired because of stuff at the old club, be it no call no shows, drinking to much, drugs or just being a total bitch.
Re: Dancer's Background Check
If you leave a club after 1-2 months (to try another club) and give them notice, then you decide to go back to the first club would they let you be re-hired? And if you decide to try another club do you tell them you're going to another club or do you say you're taking a break and don't know when you'll be back?
Re: Dancer's Background Check
A reputation will follow you, not many clubs care about that believe it or not so even the bad eggs get hired no matter what, but they are still kept an eye on.
I've only been to one club that tried to find out if I had actually worked at the ones I stated, but how can they find out anyway? Usually an audition is background check enough.
