Re: Makeup tip for blondes
i recently dyed my hair the shade you're talking about ( i was brunnette). now i like to do up my eyes. i use a purpley shade and a really dark purple (almost black) shade to make my eyes smokey. and i don't wear and lipcolor, just gloss. i loooove l'oreal's lipgloss in golden splash! it's great being blonde. i just want to go lighter and lighter!
Re: Makeup tip for blondes
Being blonde does require diffreent make-up colours. Stick to light colours for day, slightly darker for night. With blonde hair, make-up really shows up.
I use Christy Brinkley (sp) and Cheryl Tiegs (sp) for a great blonde healthy natural look.
More dramatic. Christina A. And Gwen Stefani (sp)
Can't spell names worth a damn but they all have a neat look. Play around with colours! I don't like red lipstick on me...YUK. But a smooth pink looks great, at times a gloss only. And my eyes get a brown liner, no shadow, i just smudge it. My lipstick is my blush. Lol.. I don't care for make-up. I feel so out of date now.
First picture, no make-up. Second picture, my normal make-up routine, very simple.

Re: Makeup tip for blondes
Pamela,
You look great with no makeup on. You have such a pretty complexion. You could probaly even get away with not wearing makeup at all.
Your lucky.
I tend to look a lilltle'' washed out'' without at least a little mascara and lipgloss.
Anyways, you look great:-*
Re: Makeup tip for blondes
Vyanka,
First off I bet you look great.
Did you have to lighten your eyebrows as well?
Just wondering?
How much lighter can you go from your natural color without having to lighten your eyebrows?
Does anyone do this to match their haircolor?
Re: Makeup tip for blondes
I did the same thing about a month ago. I went from very dark red/auburn to blonde blonde, with some caramel highlights. I'm [still trying to perfect my make-up. My old techniques just aren't cutting it anymore.
I used to wear light olive green eyeliner, browns/taupes/green eyeshadows, and brown mascara on my eyes, very subtle and doe-eyed. Dark reddish brown high gloss lips. Just a touch of bronzer on my cheeks.
My first day as a blonde, I did my makeup the exact same way, and looked awful. My eyes disappeared completely, my skin looked washed out, and my mouth was garish.
This is my new routine.
Eyes: Violet trio, plus a touch of gray, eyeshadows. Dark green liquid eyeliner, black mascara. Very smokey and dark.
Cheeks: tawny and coral colors, more defined than before
Lips: brownish pink base with just a touch of gloss in the center
I still havne't gotten it quite right, and tweak my colors and the application pretty much every day.
Re: Makeup tip for blondes
Thx for the helpful replies girls.
Pam, lovely as always & stunning w/o the makeup. :D
Mags, thanks babe...i'm hoping. I didn't lighten them bc I have thin eyebrows, plus it don't look bad. I think I just have to tan a little too, not too much. I was playing with some brown eye shadows last night with a peach gloss, it looked hot. I think browns on my eyes is the trick.
Cali, those colors sound very pretty. I just have alot of makeup that looks better on brunettes. Like the other day I put on like a dark pink lipgloss & it just looked too much. I don't like the way certain makeup looks on me, it looks to heavy now. I guess it just takes time to get use to, buy more makeup & just keep playing with it til I find the right ones.

I love purple eye shadow, looks really good on grey eyes.
Re: Makeup tip for blondes
You should try Nymphette lipglass from MAC.
