Pigtail nazi? What's next, no more schoolgirl/cheerleader outfits? No!!!!! Besides, devilkitty, I've seen the pics and you look of age :)
;D :-X Thanks REDZY;D ;D
Are you serious? That's nuts. When I see someone in pigtails, I always think brush and comb....But it's rare to see that here.
thats retarded, they don't care if you wear the outfit, but you can't wear pigtails?
The BOUNCER made you do it? Who the fuck is he? He needs to worry about um, I don't know, PROTECTING DANCERS rather than enforcing hairdo's.
What right does a bouncer have to say anything about a hairstyle !?!
That is just absurd.
I would have refused to change my hair and not tipped him that night.
Yeah, screw that.Quote:

Actually Devilkitty, now I'm curious. I'd love to see a picture of you in pigtails wearing that cute new schoolgirl. And I'm quite sure I'm not alone here :)
Ask a manager. The bouncer has no right. And don't mention the bouncer incident when you ask the manager.
what crap... dress up and ask the manager about the outfit. if he aproves let the bouncer try again ;)

ugly species.
I am so glad I work at the club I do. It may be small but damn. we're like family and we are almost always accepting of new dancers too.
Were you wearing the schoolgirl outfit when you had the pigtails???Quote:

In many top clubs(most that i know of)you gotta have your make-up AND hair done when on the floor working or you will get a fine, rightfully so IMO.
Bring your A game or stay the hell outta the way of those that did!
The pigtail, hair bun,or any other half assed reason for not doing the hair before working has nothing to do with pedophile bullshit, but everything to do with being a professional entertainer.
And yes,we have all heard the millions of reasons why an entertainers hair isnt done.99% of them are bullshit excuses for being lazy, late,or half assed.
If you want a hard core fact, heres one for ya...
A woman will NEVER NEVER NEVER show up somewhere thats important to her without her hair being done and her makeup done.
do they go out on a date without their hair done??
job interview?
church?
meeting the fookers??
Can you think of anything thats more important to a woman about her appearence??
What do message do you think a bun or a half assed ponytail sends??
When most of these guys go home to the wives and girlfriends at the end of the night, would you say most will go home to a woman with her hair up or in a bun??I would, and rightfully so.Ponytails and hair buns belong at home or on the playground, not in a gentlemens club.
Maybe managers wouldnt frown upon "school girl"outfits so much if so many entertainers didnt try to pass off every plaid skirt as a schoolgirl outfit just so they could start the night off in pigtails(hair not done) and wear them all night long.
How many entertainers would start the night off with thier hair all done right, then in the middle of the night,do the pigtail/school girl thing, and then redo the hair back to what it was before the schoolgirl set??
lol not many and we all know it.To much time off the floor to fix the pigtails back into a hairstyle!
Your professional entertainers ,performing in front of an audience. You owe it to the stage gods and all the girls who were there before you to come with your A game as a professional.
Do your hair,do your make-up,and wear the dress code of the club,or dont complain when your called on it or fined for it.(not "you"but entertainers in general)
Where do we get alot of dancers from??Quote:

Yup
The doorguys/bouncers.
How many strip club managers do you know that were never a doorguy first??
In alot of clubs, the bouncer is a mini mgr in training and can enforce all house rules on the floor he is watching.
In MOST clubs, even the shitholes,if a doorguy tells you to do something within house rules, you gotta do it right???
Yea.
Much props to the bouncers that run thier floor right when the mgr is in the back counting the beer bottles.
I cant do my job without them, and neither can an entertainer.
They do more then just protect and im surprised at the attitude towards them even if thats were all they do.Thats your immediate 911 isnt it?
yea we can all say we knew some shitty doorguys, but for the most part, its an important role in our world, you can tell alot about a club, just by the doorguys.
The good ones deserve your respect, even when they are telling you something you dont want to hear, like "do your freekin hair".
Let the games begin!!!!!!Quote:

If its a house rule, the manager would be an asshole not to back his bouncer.
Maybe a better approach would be NOT to dress up,but to ask the manager about it first. Then inform the bouncer about the rule clarifacation.
THEN go put the outfit on.
Your suggested way makes the bouncer pissed and starts alot of drama.
Chicks don't wear it often here.....Quote:

But it's different, I welcome it.
Flashdancers, Private Eyes, and NY Dolls (all in NYC) REQUIRE you to wear your hair down at all times and you CAN NOT wear glasses. So if you have poor vision and can't wear contacts, you're screwed! I hated their rules!
Unless it is in a specific dress code listed in the contract one signs with a club they can not tell you how to dress or wear you hair etc. beyond legal requirements such as pasties for example.
No bouncer or DJ has any right what so ever to tell a dancer how she may or may not wear her hair anymore than they have the right to tell a dancer what color outfit she can wear.
If it isn't in the contract then a dancer can wear her hair any damn way she pleases.
Know your rights because if you don't many bouncers and DJ's will take advantage and try to treat dancers like puppets. Unfortunatly there are more than a few men in this industry who get their gollys or inflate their egos by trying to control women.
Bouncers need to stick to security and DJ's need to stick to playing music and announcing things over the sound system.
We all got jobs to do,we all got rules to follow for that job.
You don't have the right to talk down about your support staff, without whom, you wouldnt be a star of anything. House rules and standards are in place for the crack heads as well as the professional prima donnas. Both can kill a club if left unchecked.
Like it or not, this aint all about you.Being a club/house dancer is a team sport.Something one girl does ,can and will affect the other girls you share a building with.(it also affects those lowely support staff fuckers)
I saw no indication that pig tails were not allowed as a "house rule" but rather this situation appears to be a bouncer who didn't personally care for the hair style.
Like I said before:

Bouncers and DJ's etc. do not get to just make up and enforce rules based on their various personal tastes. And that is exactly what seems to have happen with this so called "pig tail nazi" of a bouncer.
Not allowing a bouncer or DJ to walk all over me or us is not being a primmadonna.
I personally have never worn my hair in pigtails to be lazy about doing my hair. And yes, I've worn pigtails in the middle of my shift and took them out on stage once the costume came off, only to wear my hair as I did previously. Geezus Big Green, do we really feel the need to be so hostile about a simple hair-do? Take it down a notch! I've had many guys who love the look of pigtails. Preferences vary greatly from one person to another.Quote:

If I absolutely cannot do anything else with my hair or am in a rush, then yes, I WILL wear a ponytail or pigtails. No excuses here. I wore a ponytail last time I worked, and everyone said I looked fabulous. I like pigtails, but I do hate the two pigtails and rest of the hair down. It looks especially silly when a 30 something woman tries to pull it off at a blacktie affair.
