Re: Chit Jobs , Before You Danced... yuk.
My "day job" is pretty bad.... but I love it. I work in a ER and get stuff thrown at you, someone tried to pee on me and a guy with two gun-shot wounds drove himself to the ER and even signed himself in....
Being a dancer lets me let go and be who ever I want to be.... as long as I don't have to wear scrubs!

Veterinary assistant- so many cat scratches...bad bad bad scars. People will probably be looking at my arms like I was a teenage masochist for the rest of my life. Plus all the euthanasizing stuff. Not as bad as a kill floor (omigod!), but no fun. Animals are cute, but not when we're stabbing, slicing, and generally harassing them. Also, all the xraying I had to do (with a lead apron, but still actually there holding the dog/cat) made me think "woohoo, min. wage and cancer to boot"

My folks ran a motel. Cleaned all the rooms, bathrooms, made beds, vacuumed, washed linens, installed new carpets, patched and recovered furniture. No money. I was kinfolk, they said I had to pitch in. Did it since I was twelve. Yeah, when I got my first job at a bar as a "bus" girl, I had pleny, plenty of experience doing this krap.

I think I take the cake on this one. At 16, I picked up trash off the freeway for 50 hours a week in 100 degree heat. That was pretty bad and I only made $6.25/hr. Also in high school, i was an assistant custodian, so lots of times my friends would stay after school hanging out and they'd see me in my little janitor jumpsuit sweeping and mopping. Of course at the time I was completely humiliated, but at least I got a good work ethic out of it

Rode on the side of a garbage truck picking up and dumping garbage. Probably the only girl who had this kind of a job.
People in high schools would taunt and call me "Smelly --------".
Not shamed of it. Didn't like it, but the money was fair.
Re: Chit Jobs , Before You Danced... yuk.
I worked at Taco Bell when I was 15. That was shitty...I didnt understant the menu and I REALLY hated food. I can tell you how they make the food but then you will wish you had never eaten there.
The job Im at now...its dumber than dumb. I got duped too. They offered me 8/hr and they changed it to 7/hr.....Im leaving this one next month. Fucking cheap bastards want to screw me over...we'll see. Besides, this job is retail and Im truly over-qualified from my experience.

i sheared christmas trees for one day. it sucked so bad. they had guys in watch towers making sure you didn't stop. it reminded me of a prison. i also worked at a metal foundry. oh yeah molton metal. i also worked as a proffesional fundraiser calling up people in new york and asking them to donate to there local narcotic officers. then i would call up the same people and ask them to donate to there local fire chiefs. and agin for their local police chiefs. it would suck because we litteraly called the same people over and over agin and we used the same jokes in every script.

Worked in my uncle's auto repair shop. Started when I was 12. By the time I graduated from high school, I was an accomplished mechanic. (Engine, transmission rebuild, installation, etc).
Loved this job. Long hours, but once done, hot damn, such a rush and feelings of accomplishment. Sort like, going on stage and doing a good number.
It just make you feel good all over.
