working again after surgery or not?
I need some Motivation to go back to work? Its been a month and a half since working, and while on vacation i had my nose and boobs done.
After reading what was your worst night thread, im having problems! lol
Usually i just buy an outfit, and have more then enough motivation to work, but not this time! Im considering retirement :(

Re: working again after surgery or not?

Re: working again after surgery or not?
elle! are you serious???
I thought you were doing really well... maybe you just realized how nice it is to not dance for a month and a half :) well good luck with whatever decision you make

Re: working again after surgery or not?
I do well as far as $$, but lately thats not enough motivation!

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Hm. I donno then, money always motivates me, if not that then the things I can buy with it.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
if you have waited this long i wouldnt try to go back till like 2 weeks after new years. it is always so bad after chirstmas/new years at least for the first 2 weeks. that would only discourage you more.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
I was thinking of working new years if i were to go back since my so will be out on business. Is that a bad night?
I think if i were to go back and had an awful night, i would retire for good.

Re: working again after surgery or not?

Money really isn't a good motivator.
An unpaid rent bill, however, is a GREAT motivator. Lay out on the beach until your Visa bill is 3 months overdue, then you'll have all the motivation you need to shake your bootie again.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
I hope you're well Tampa. I didn't know the begginng of Jan is bad- maybe I'll take a week off then after New Years-I'm a little tired now too.
Besides bills another good motivator for me is thinking of what I'm going to do if I'm not dancing. Preparing a resume and going to several job interviews sounds harder or more work to me than dancing. Or you could listen to some of your favorite songs you to dance to at home. Good luck Tampa!

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Well I wouldnt go back on new years eve. Iam working but I only work on wed and fridays, so its one of my shifts anyhow. I would wait until the midddle of next week to go back. Maybe try only 2 days a week. I wouldnt be motivated to do anymore than that after traveling for 5 years and only working around 50 shifts aa year its hard to get motivated to go back to a schedule. It was especially hard going back after my boobs. Maybe just trael and work like 8 shifts a month.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
your motivation should be that u just got your boobs, and nose done. Don't you want to show off your new boobies!! Your money will probably double because of your physical improvement, so get up and go back to work!! Earn back the money that you spent on improving your appearance.
Good Luck!!!

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Hey Elle,
I bet you have some regulars who would love to see you again. Plus, since they haven't seen you in a while, they have a bunch of money burning a hole in their pockets. Besides, you don't want the bills piling up.

Look in the mirror! Or put on your new outfit, buy a bottle of wine, maybe try a new perfume, and have a glass of wine and go out the door! ;)

Re: working again after surgery or not?

Re: working again after surgery or not?
I personally think she's been through alot in the month or so. Her body has been through a big change and I can't imagine that emotionally she is in A+ condition...especially with making a permanent change in her physical appearance within a matter of hours..maybe she's just a little overwhelmed.
Do you girls with implants or any type of comsmetic surgery find it a bit overwhelming emotionally as well as physically at first? We know dancing can be emotionally draining..and after a break from the routine of hustle..and after a big life change like that. I wouldn't blame Elle for being a little gun shy.
I am also curious to see what happen's in Elle's case ...as like Paris did....if it causes a significant income increase. Although dancerwealth say's it has to do with "confidence" and not breast size. On the other hand we have "Melonie" and others saying different.
Congratulations on your surgery, Elle!;D

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Go ahead and confirm that just like make-up, high heels, push-up bras, and leg and bikini waxing work to increase visual stimulation of the reptillian core of the male brain, so does cosmetic surgery. Not exactly coincidentally, you probably like how you look, too. In a way it sucks that we've invented something life threatening to improve physical appearance, but we did.
Being beautiful and getting cosmetic surgery is not a vanity crime. BA's and rhinos are among the safest and oldest procedures. The lipstick and eyeliners of cosmetic surgery. No reasonable man would want to overtly encourage an already beautiful woman to undergo cosmetic surgery given the risks. But the reptillian brain ultimately turns our heads. You already knew all this of course.
You took the plunge and presumably it went well. Embrace the results. You took a risk; go get your payoff.

Thanks holiday for the supportive words :) I will be sure to report back after i start working again. I decided to work one last night (sat) at a low volume club and see how i feel about dancing still.
On another note, my nose surgery went perfect esp when he took off the cast. Now i have a bit of swelling not making it look AS great as before, but only time will tell.
Oh yes, and i just want to clarify something. My nose and boobs were nice before, i was def not an ugly duckling looking to become a swan. My changes were minimal and enhancing.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Doooooood! When I got my BA I couldn't WAIT to get back to work and show off my new boobs! It was nice having time off but I was counting the days and went back at exactly 4 weeks. And I was no ugly duckling either, but new boobs sure are fun to play with! ;D
I have heard of post-surgery depression though. Perhaps that's what's going on? The drugs affect people differently and I imagine all that painkiller and anaesthesia can sometimes be a longer term downer than we expect. :(
BUT, I think if I were gonna work one day this weekend and didn't have plans I'd choose New Year's Eve, because I've always done well that night in past years. Not so many girls working and even though the club may not be full they still wanna party.

Re: working again after surgery or not?
I got a little blue after my surgery. I love vicodin but after awhile it starts making me a gloomy gal.....and that lasts for weeks afterwards.
Elle, if you're anything like me...you can't dance when you don't want to. I'm on a break right now. I have to WANT to do it in order to make money. I'm SO incredibly broke right now but even the thought of that extra cash isn't pushing me to get back in there. Instead, I just stay home and surf the web for free :)

Re: working again after surgery or not?
Damn, TFD, I wish you were dancing up here; none of my faves at what is becoming my regular club are working tonight or tomorrow.
Next time.
Hang in there, pretty lady.
