Re: What the hell is mgt thinking?
It sounds like it's some 'customer appreciation day'. Hi-Liter in Phoenix does that once a year, free dances all day for one day. Supposedly the girls who show up that day get tipped alot for their dances (I imagine there are alot of deals made involving tips for standard laps - no/low tip would get alot of air), but I wanted no part of it. That club had a different clientele though, and I can see how girls could make money on "free" dance day at that club. Guys enjoyed the place and for the most part didn't mind paying there.
It's a different thing here though. The locals I've dealt with are mostly some seriously cheap bastards, and I'm betting this free dance promo will only bring out the cheapasses in full force. No way in HELL would I show up for that. Whatever morons are running GGC need their heads examined. I never would have thought they could be MORE stupid than the dipshits running HC. ::)
Re: What the hell is mgt thinking?
The ad makes it sound like each customer will get one free dance.

Independent contractors, walk out the door. Break some windows on the way out.
Tell the managers to do the dances themselves.

Maxine you're right that if the club treats their dancers as independent contractors that the girls are free to refuse to participate in the club's 'giveaway' promotion. However, if the club treats their dancers as 'employees', then legally the club is the owner of private dances, legally the dancers are obligated to provide them without additional compensation as a condition of employment, and legally any per-dance money that dancers had previously received as a result of performing private dances is considered to be a sales commission which the club is free to reduce or terminate at any time.
Re: What the hell is mgt thinking?
Starfire: I dont blame you! I quit working there also because of all the "fees" I was aquiring, such as not getting at least one room a week, ect. During the winter here, and probably everywhere, its hard. And if you want to know how money hungry the GoldClub is, listen to this, it happened when I Was working there (not sure if you are new or something): Its common knowledge there are lockers at the club for the dancer to store her things in. They have a crapload of girls. One night a girl couldnt remember her combination because she got too drunk to remember it. Her own fucking problem, right? Well mgt came up with the idea that they could sell combination locks for TEN DOLLARS a lock, and that you had to have THEIR new locks on your locker in a certain amount of time. If not, then they would cut your lock off and replace it with theirs and charge you later. They thought that since these locks had an alternate way of opening (with a key in the back) that it would alleviate some of the problems. I had to buy one. But guess what???? THE "GREAT" GIRLS DIDNT GET ONE, and mgt dropped it after a big majority of the girls bought one. Money hungry? Stupid? Also, who the hell would WANT to do a ld for 15 bucks, when all people are there for are the one free. Its stupid. I couldnt stand working there.
Re: What the hell is mgt thinking?
The 19th is on a Wed. I think that this might be a customer appreciation time. I would do as someone else said, called in a regular that spends a good amount on you. Do your "free" dances for them. I would bet that either he would tip you well or would spend a considerable amount on you the next time they came in.

Re: What the hell is mgt thinking?
My club does a customer apprection and a VIP customer appreciation night periodically. What do they do? They have a free buffet and $10 dances for about 3-4 hours, during the slow midshift time. Not too shabby, and most customers will still pay $20 a dance.
Now THAT is a somewhat decent custy apprec. Seriously, knock Texas all you want, but our clubs wouldn't do that bullshit NOR do they have a fine system.......
