A longwinded intro from Vegas
Hello from Vegas.
This stared out as a simple hello and ended up my life story.
Cindigo....the short form...quite possibly the long form:
I started dancing when I was 18. College was too expensive and dancing paid the bill. I danced at a few different clubs in Detroit (Cover Girls, Tycoons, Jon Jon's, Centerfolds) until I was about 23 while working as a grapic designer. Around that time I realized that along with an abusive boyfriend, I had a bit of a drug problem. I left him and got some help. I stopped stripping, untangled myself from the guy and got clean.
I landed a great job and worked for a fashion company for five years. It was a great time. I learned a lot, and got to travel. Unfortunately, the always crazy, unstable owner went completly off his rocker and fired everyone in an ugly, mean, corporate burocratic way. I won't go into it because, even now, it makes my stomach turn over just thinking about the whole mess. It involved lawsuits and lies and silly, white, fat men with their ties tied to tight so their heads turned puffy and red. It was shortly after 9/11/2001. The economy was horrible and the thought of working as a designer just made me feel burned out and unhappy.
When I was dancing in college a good friend of mine that I worked with was going to massage therapy school. She would bring her books into work and talk about her classes all the time. It sounded fascinating and something I would really love to do. But, at that time, I had just spent a bazillion dollars on college and was about to graduate.
But now, since I had put in my years and wanted a change, I thought this would be the perfect time. I enrolled in a year long massage therapy training school. I vowed that this would be my last winter in Detroit, or anywhere that it snows, and started stripping again to pay for school and make ends meet.
Durning that time a outrageously cute boy that I went to grade school, a year of jr. high and high school with found my name on classmates.com and started emailing me. Within a few days, we were emailing everyday. After a few months he said he was driving from Colorado on a trip to see his family in Wisconsin, Kansas and Chicago. Detroit wasn't that far away. He could drive by and we could have some coffee. I thought that was a fantastic idea. He showed up in October of 2002 and we haven't been apart since. We were married in May 2004.
We moved to Vegas a year and a half ago and are planning on staying one more year. Right now, I work at Glitter Gulch. I worked at Cheetas for one night and didn't like it much. I think only because I was in a bad mood and it was a slow night. I would like to try Crazy Horse and Olympic Garden, but I'm doing pretty well at GG and it's nice to be somewhere familiar.
I did finish school and get my certification. I worked in a spa for a while, and now just have my own clients. I think that dancing again spoiled me too much. More money, no one telling you what to do and working on your own time are all appealing.
I would love to take a working vacation somewhere outside the US. If you're reading this and you have any info for me, that would be fantastic.
I have a website that's basically a blog with other stuff that doesn't get updated. I don't really talk about stripping because some of my family reads it (ie...if you post a comment be discreet), and, I just didn't want my writing to be about that part of my life. Maybe that's why I felt I had to write a novel for this intro.
Anyway....that's me....
.
You guys ROCK!

As a fellow Vegasian (sp?) welcome to the board. Be sure to tell Steve, your manager at GG that Adam from Naked Assets says hi. He's a bud of mine and a truly great guy. One of the best managers I've ever worked with in the biz. The club itself may not be the greatest, but they have great staff. I don't normally poke my head into the Newbie area much but I saw you mention Vegas in the subject and thought I'd welcome you in from one yokel to another.

Nice to meet you Katrine. I'll be around all week.
