I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I was at work Friday night talking to a fellow dancer about air dances, and just then 2 girls who have been at this club for 10+ years started laughing their asses off and started joking around saying "Oh hahaha like an air guitar! haha" Then basically all the girls started air guitaring. All I said was, "OK table dances whatever you prefer to say."
Anyway, am I an idiot for calling them air dances?
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
To me an air dance is if there is air in between you and the guys crotch. So no you are not stupid.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
No your not stupid everybody says that.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Yup, I've heard the term a lot, you didn't make it up.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
No, I'd say that's just an indication that the girls you work with don't spend much time online, or at least not on stripping-related forums. Airdance seems to be more of an online term - most girls I work with don't call them airdances either. Even customers who aren't into these forums look at me kinda funny if I use the term.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Hon... They were just trying to mess with you; I'm sure you know that. But I call them no-contact dances. Don't let them get to ya;)
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
yeah.. air dances are dance where there is air between you and the customer 100% of the time
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Relax, they're just airheads...
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
:rotfl:
Good one Djoser!!
My club management calls our dances, air dances...as do most of the customers. Maybe it's kind of a "locale" term? Here, the difference between an air dance and a table dance is the contact level... Does it really matter, though?
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Those two girls have been in the business for 10+ years and they've never heard the term,"air dance"???They are the stupid ones.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
The way I see it, there is an "air dance" or a "lap dance". The moment any intentional contact occurs, you're dealing with the latter. A "table dance" or "private dance" can refer to either one.
But that's just my definition. :)
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I'm getting a visual of a bunch of beautiful but stupid women jumping around in G-strings playing air guitar to "Freebird" or something. OTB is right, THEY are the stupid ones...and I have a twisted imagination....
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I call them table dances because they are done at the table or in some cases on the table rather than in the customers lap. Lap dances take place for all intesive purposes on his lap. Thus the different term is needed to define one from another in a sales pitch.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
They're jealous of you because you are soo... cute!LOL!
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I never worked a club that called a dance an air dance. I have seen ld's given with the dancers crotch pretty high in the "air," so i guess that is what is meant. They don't contact dance on the lap it seemed. Looked different, kinda strange. I agree with Tigerlilly about the Table Dances!
Anyway, different. And screw them. Call it what you want hun!

Yea, I didn't think about it being an online term. You're probably right.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I call them lame.
;)
Yes I have always heard them called air dances. I hear guys say things like, "That dancer gives air dances - don't bother with her" that sort of thing.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Generally called a no contact dance in Australia. Air dance is regarded as mainly an online term and an American one at that. If I ever used the term air dance locally (or anywhere in Australia) to describe a private dance where there is no contact (aka "air") between the customer and the dancer... I would receive very strange looks indeed!
Just to add: A table dance is done on a table. Plus the general strip club ettitquette in Australia is that you pay up-front. Also when mentioning no contact "air dances" this generally means no contact from customer to dancer and vice versa. When the dancer can touch the customer yet the customer cannot touch the dancer.. it is then called a private no contact lap dance (as the dancer can get close to the customer and his lap). If the dancer is no where near the customer's lap during the dance... don't use the term lap dance in anyway. It is then a mis-representation.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
I've only had two air dances. I would rather talk to the pretty gals and pay for their time. Air dances are just a mutual waste of time.
So you got one up on their not knowing common terminology. You probably know a few other things they don't too. And vice versa.
Re: I call them "air dances" what do you call them?
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure only the stripper version. Is one Blonde and the
other Brunette? AIR DANCE ON DUDE!!!! :)
Air Dance == no contact
Lap Dance == light to medium contact
Full Friction == full contact
Is this terminology only used online? I thought it was industry related.
I learn something new every day how cool!
Party on dudes!
