Just curious....how did you get into stripping? To me it would seem to be a huge, earth shaking decision.
was it a economic decision? was it a plan from when you were younger? I've always wondered.

I've always wanted to dance since I was like 10....I've always been very sexual/sensual.
I started as a waitress in a club just trying to make a few extra bucks to have spending money for college (sholarships paid for tuition and room and board). After three months I saw how much more money the dancers were making and I decided to give it a try. Since then, I have been a dancer off and on. However, now I do it because it is my job that pays my bills. Before, I did it because it was fun and I met lots of cool people(worked in a college town).
My favorite thing to do has always been to dance around the house nakid'. So I thought I might as well get paid for it.
I used to want to dance because I thought it was excellent money and the way it was glamourized on tv added to it. Not until I got into dancing did I see that it really was hard work, but the money was still worth it.
But basically I got the guts to do it when I moved out of my parents house and had my own bills to pay, plus college was a bit too much for me to handle financially.
My entre to stripping was a natural outgrowth of my introduction to Tequila.
LOL... no seriously.... I got a fascination with stripping sometime when I was a teen. If you know my personal story, then you know that as a kid I constantly fought a weight prob (and still do, for that matter). Anyway, when I was 17, I finally got my weight and such under control, and frankly looked pretty damn good! ('cept for my boobs, which I eventually got fixed, too!). Anyway, I danced at a couple of private parties and such, more "tequila influenced" than anything else.
When I was 19, I met my then-boyfriend (now hubby!!!) and found out he was a bouncer at a club, I was totally taken with the whole thing. He suggested I do an amateur night, and even though I had taken my clothes off at parties and this was only topless, I was still nervous as hell! (Something about a stage and a big crowd of frat boys will do that to ya!) I took second place, but the club offered me a job anyway. The rest is history!
I got into it because I needed the money to pay for college and living expenses. I got tired of working all the time at normal college jobs (waitressing, telemarketing, etc.) and barely scraping by. I knew a girl a while back who danced and had given me some information about it. I always loved performing and it seemed like something I'd enjoy, so I went for it!
I was with some friends on our way to see a band play and we had to stop and pick up one of the guys new g/f at a stripclub. I watched for a few minutes and thought... shit I can do that and I went in the following monday and got the job.
Just wanted something that would bring in extra money...and not require me to put my daughter in day care...or have to work 5 days a week, 40 hours a week...but that would get me the highest return on my time...and so it goes... ;)
Ditto^ Then after I was there for a night, I discovered the POLE:eye-poppiQuote:

when i was little and i was playing barbies wiht my friends, one got mad at me for some reason and said "fine! be a stripper!" it had nothing to do with what we were doing or saying or playing but it sounded like fun at the time and i guess it's been in the back of my mind ever since. then my best friend in college got a job dancing at a club and always had wads of cash, she taught me how to move but i was kind of scared to try... then i met a very ambitious girl who found out i always wanted to try and she did to and i found myself on a stage with her the very next day.
my story resembls susans in a way... to get up there was a way to deal with my newfound self confidence after I finally got my weight and looks issue of the teen years in line. I used to do some showdancind back when I was 15 to 17 so there was just a step up to get on that stage. Also I loved the sexual athmosphere pretty much. I started this seriously with the backing of my bf, now hubby when I was 18. After a while I discovered the sm fetish stuff and went on to a club which is in this area. I do regular clubs from time to time.
money is good and I can ned it as I'm going to univeryity for a few years to come. :)
I'm just an uber-exhibitionist. Separated from my hubby and needed money fast. got drunk and did amatuer night. the rest is history.
funnily enough, I used to dress slutty when going out, always first one in the pool when skinny dipping at the after-hours, etc. Now that I'm a dancer, I'm one of the most conservative of my friends when we're out and about. I figure, I can get money for being naked, why do it for free?

Lost my job, needed the money. I went to this club after reading their ad in the paper, not knowing anything about stripping. When I walked into the club and the manager was telling me the rules I almost burst into tears thinking I was going to have to do that.. I left the club, hanging my head in shame and for the next 2 months contemplated. Eventually, when I had to go over to my parents' house to eat because I couldn't afford instant rice I decided to try stripping. When I did I was amazed at what happened. It wasn't even a quarter as bad as I thought, and here I am, almost 2 years later, still strippin' away!
I'm exactly the same way! Before I started dancing, I would get all dolled up to go out. My hair and makeup had to be perfect, and I would wear skimpy little tops, tight jeans and short skirts whenever I went out to regular bars. I loved all the attention I got from guys. Now that I'm a dancer, I don't go out as much as I used to-I'd rather stay home. And when I do go out, I'll wear a sweatshirt, jeans, and minimal makeup.Quote:

Then a couple of years ago I finally got sick of my boring 9-5 job where I was making $8 an hour and said to hell with it. At first I thought maybe I'd just dance for a couple of months to pay off my credit card debt and some school loans, but I enjoyed dancing so much that over two years later I'm still at it.
I attended a high school in which most of the students had parents that were well off. Everyone came to school dressed every day as though it were a fashion show. However, my parents were not well off and struggled to keep me in such a good school. I always got teased for the way I dressed because my parents couldn't afford to buy me name brand clothes. In high school the pressure is so intense to fit in that most people will do almost anything. Accordingly I started dancing; my best friend and I got fake ID's made when we were seventeen and started our stripping careers; and I was never teased again.
My own story is way different.
When I turned 30, I had been married for several years to a "professional guitarist" and had a beautiful son by him. I had also just finished my college degree and had started working in hospital ER's as a respiratory therapist. My husband always considered his would-be career as the family's first priority, to the point of him spending grocery and bill money for new Marshall amps and leaving me and my son cold and hungry ! This was the entire reason I pursued a college degree at night after working all day at a blue collar 'straight' job for many years. But after I had finally gotten my degree and started my hospital job, I found out that my husband had immediately gotten himself a credit card based on MY steady job and income, and had immediately maxxed out the credit card to buy yet more instruments and equipment. Needless to say, this tore it and I started divorce proceedings.
After separating, I discovered really fast that hospital paychecks plus zero child support plus being pursued by my husband's bill collectors for the credit card debt he ran up in both our names was NOT an equation which would keep my son fed and warm plus provide any hope for his future. Being rather desparate at this point, I began thinking about possible alternatives with higher income potential. When a new strip club opened in the city I was living in at the time I decided to take a chance trying out as a dancer, and the rest is history !
Me and my best friend was planning a holiday trip to Crete, in the news paper we tryed to find a appartment/hotel suddently we saw a advertisement from Diamonds and Pearls topless stripclub - was looking for dancers - hotel and airfare paid by the club...
we where making jokes about it and we rented the movie 'striptease' and 'showgirls'.
The next day my friend called me and told me that she has dreamed about it when she came over to me, we called and made a appointment. when we arrived in Crete we went to the club and we liked it so next day we start working.
and i am still in the same club! 5 years! ;D
Well...I've always loved gettin all dolled up and havin a place to go and look pretty. Plus - my ex's have all told me how comfortable I look when I'm naked and jumpin around the house and on them! So now that I've almost graduated from university and completely in the hole with my bank account, with huge student loans...I need some dough quickly!! I've always had part-time jobs since a was old enough to work, and payed for everything on my own. But now I need some serious cash...I've wasted enough time at minimun wage jobs!
Cianna :D
I went to a birthday party at a club and had so much fun I thought I'd give it a shot. Still having fun too ..... well most nights anyway ;)
It had to do with transfering from a community college to a University that I REALLY wanted to go to. I got excepted and it was 5 hours from home, so I needed housing as well. Well fin aid didn't cover what I needed, and where I am you can't file as a dependent until you are 23. So my families income determind my aid, it screwed me over since my family doesn't pay shit for my school. So I called the school and asked for more money, and they were able to hook me up with a loan, but for me to get the loan myself I needed to make $18K a year. So I needed a co-signer and of course no one wanted to sign. So basically I HAD to do it because what else could I do? How else could I get that kind of money?
I hate dancing I really do, and I take it out on my family really. Honestly, what kind of family or parent better yet, is going to refuse to sign a loan for their own child to go to school? It was basically telling me they didn't care.
i can feel where you're coming from. Iwent to my dad for a co-signer for a car and was told " not as long as I live!" kinda spells things out right there. Ironically, years later wehn I was an under water welder on the rigs, HE came to ME asking for a loan!! Ahh paybacks are a bitch! " Not as long as you live".
I wanted to be a stripper since I was 14. MTV music videos played there part. And my fear of debt was a factor too, but mostly it just suits my mentality better than a normal job. You have to be comfortable with your sexuality.
