Yuck!Blackheads!
Does anybody have any good tips on getting rid of blackheads?
I suddenly have several on my cheeks and they are driving me crazy!
I am trying to fight the urge to pull them out with my tweezers.
I tried a pore strip and they are still there:(
I am becoming desperate and will try anything that won't leave scars
Thanks all:)

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
Hey, before you do any more squeezing or stripping (no pun intended), go get a facial! They will get rid of them for you, and tell you how to avoid getting them!!
Ahhhh...a facial.
Cianna ;) ;D

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
I have never actually had a facial .But I guess this is a great excuse to go get one;D
I think I am gonna have to make myself an appointment tommorow.
Are there different kind's of facial's or do most places pretty much use the same methods?

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
call and ask if they do blackhead extraction with their acne facial or whatever facial.

Magdelana get a facial if you've never had one. Search around for different prices and if you get one makesure you don't get a fancy one...get the basic deep cleansing facial and ask that they will do extractions.
Otherwise...as weird as this sounds..when ever I clean up my brow hair..I use this microwave wax. Its called Surgiwax and you can get at most drug stores or sally beauty supply. Get the one for the face. Anyway..heat up the wax as the directions say and then I put the wax on (after its cooled down~it will be kind of gooey) and then I put it on the sides of my nose..push the wax flat down against your nose with your fingers..and then grab one end of the wax and hold your skin taute and you'll see the black heads come upp/off. Sounds....gross..but it works..I found this out by mistake :)
Also I see your in San Fran....there are a lot of nasty things in the air there..so make sure you always wash your face each night and you a good mosturizer..maybe one that's not too heavy if your skin can't handle it.
Oh! Put the tweezers down :)

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
From everything that I have heard, Retin A micro, is the best thing for permanantly changing the oil production and exfoliation of the skin.
I bought a microdermabrasion package and I treat my skin with Retin A and Glycolic acid peels in between the dermabrasion and it has helped my blackheads immensley without having to pick at them.
Retin A Micro is a prescription but there are sites on the web were you can get it legally without having a prescription. They have a doctor that evaluates your claim and writes the script. I don't like to pay 50 dollars or more just to have an office visit for a script.
good luck.

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
Facials are key. But try to go somewhere where a friend has gone. If they dont do it correctly it can make it worse. Or I just did accutane a while back that solved everythign.

A mint mask & benzoyl peroxide cream after should do it. ;)

Thanks to everyone who replied:)
So my blackheads are gone!Yeah!
I got this awsome new face wash by J/A/S/O/N called D-Clog balancing cleanser and my skin has never looked so clear and vibrant.
I love it! It has exfoliant in it which I am assuming helped with those blackheads.
It also say's it contain's Vitamin B6,witch hazel, loofah powder, jojoba beads and ''biologically'' active blue green algae.
Just thought I would let everyone else know about this product because I really love it.

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
For a little extra maintenance try a light fruit acid peel, like the one you can get in those Avon pads, or, my personal favorite, byt Trish McEvoy.
They help keep blackheads at bay and also refine your skins texture.

Re: Yuck!Blackheads!
I've never had a facial, but my sister gets them from a dermatologists office for around the same as an astetition (sp?) at any local salon. She says its better from a derm because they are less likely to fuck up your skin by mistake. I'm bad about mine. I squeeze the hell out of them.
