Prepaid Credit Cards
Does anyone know of a company that will issue you a business prepaid credit card? I had to close my account with Washington Mutual Bank becuase they kept paying themselves from my account for a debt that my ex-husband had with them and I really would like to keep this from happening again.
I need to be able to make wire transfers to it from my business sales which are done by credit cards. Pamela, do you know of any? Melonie, do you know of any?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards
I think you are better off opening another bank account and getting a debit card through them. He is no longer your husband, so with a new account at another bank, this shouldn't be an issue.

If you have State Farm Insurance, they bought a Bank. If you open an account, you can even get discounts on your insurance.

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards
If all you need is an account you can wire money to and access easily from anywhere, there are two options. 1) Open a prepaid mastercard or visa account (stored value card) from a company like Netspend () - you can have money direct deposited to the account and it's accessible anywhere mastercard or visa is accepted. It is a debit card though, not a credit card, so it can't be used for things like renting cars. 2) Open another bank account at a local bank and get their mastercard or visa debit card along with it. Most banks offer this free now. Like the other, this is only a debit card attached to your bank account so it can't be used for renting cars.

Re: Prepaid Credit Cards
Vixie the only real problem that you have is that your existing accounts are in both names, thus subject to your ex's creditors attempting to latch onto balances to pay his bills.
The best, easiest way out of this is to open new accounts in your name only with a different major bank.
