There is Sanctuary and there is one by Common Tongue or Kim Buchanan (I can't remember which)
I just checked I Tunes, there are a alot of cover versions done for this song.
So I would check there for samples to find the version you like.
The one I keep seeing on peoples lists is the one from "Blue Man Group" of all people. Huh. My club's dj swears it is good...
that sounds awesome... i love the original... i'll have to check it out. which cover is the best/most danceable?
The band Collide also does an amazing techno version of this tune on their album "Chasing the Ghost" that I'd highly recommend.
All of their work is good, so try their other CDs too. I also enjoy their cover of "Son of a Preacher Man".

I second the Collide version!! It's ridiculously hot.
Blue Man (Ft. Esthero?) Is REALLY good!!! I like the version by Collide, except for the lack of bass, it's irritating, which is too bad because I really like the chicks voice. Sanctuary has like a head bangers version which is interesting, I think I like it. Blue Oyster Cult, LOL!!! Yep Blue Oyster Cult, it's pretty good too! The Damned is like a late 80's punk/goth version. There are tons of covers out there, but there are few great ones (My Morning Jacket ICK!!)!!! My fave for the club would probably be by Blue Man.
More cool songs to download, I love it...
About the bass--you can help out a song weak in bass by cranking it up on the mixer--but for god's sake don't forget to turn it back down! I really have to watch myself with this.
I can only do so much on my sound sticks :( , but that's exactly what my husband said he's going to do at work LOL, I was like "won't that compromise the sound of the song?", and he said "not bad enough that anyone would care, or even notice". We were both sitting here listening to it, going, man that's too bad. All their stuff I DL'd sounded like that too, so I guess that's they way they like their music? :-\Quote:

I don't know, this is idle speculation, but there is some music that needs the bass cranked, some that needs it turned down, etc. A really good mixing board will enable you to cut out the irritating effects of bad or whiny vocals in a lot of songs, too. Again, though, you have to remember to turn it back up or down! I get distracted easily by all the crazy shit going on, and really have to watch it.
LOL! At least you pay attention, most DJs out here don't even do that! Ugh!
Emiliana Torrini has a good cover but it's nothing to write home about.
Oh, and did I mention, Blue Man, live, doing White Rabbit... Holy Crap!!!! :hyper: :spin: :hyper: :spin: :hyper:
I really like the Damned's version of the song.
