Dancing in London and Europe
Hi Ladies,
I'm new to the forum, 23 , Gold Coast Australia.
Heading off to London in a few weeks and have a general idea about where I want to dance, so I will sort out my auditions when I get there. I haven't danced for about a year and a half so I am kind of throwing myself in at the deep end by putting myself in this situation but I have my mind set about what I am going to do. Only just learnt this site existed so any advice would be GREAT!
Have any of you ever danced in London or Europe? My main priority is to dance in London at one of the nicer clubs , of course if I meet thier criteria! Fingers crossed. But if it is good money in Europe then I would be happy to go there, France or Italy..etc. I am not expecting an easy road but I am confident that once I get going there won't be too many problems. Wishful thinking perhaps, but I just hope for the best.
Girls, I would love to hear from you. Anything you have in terms of advice or personal experiences would be appreciated! Nice to join the boards. Hear from you soon!
Miss H

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
OH OH I would LOVE to hear how it goes to. You should start an 'around London' journal post like the one Goldcoastgirl has done for Australia!
http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...ight=australia
The only things I know about London are:
- certainly need a work visa
- mostly very lady like clubs
- keep you audition mellow, at stringfellows they like you to 'dance lilke an angel' so no pole tricks or anything fancy
Keep us updated!

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
I leave out of Brisbane on March 13 so I have 25 days to go! So nervous but have to just give it my best shot. What else can you do but try your best?
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
I have a few friends over there and from there, I'm not sure what clubs they've worked at but they said the house fees can be ridiculously high and the audiences tend to be much more conservative than here. I've heard that it's easier to make money and less competitive in some of the clubs outside of London, but i'm sure it's different for everyone. Good luck and let us know - I'm possibly going back there later this year!
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Good luck. I've never tried dancing in London and it doesn't particularly appeal to me. I think you can make money in a lot of places, but if you go to London, you must look good. People will tear you apart otherwise. I know that from Londoners visiting my club. They can be a very picky bunch.
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Must look good? On what levels? I mean, I think I am looking at the moment - damn, some of the girls I have seen dancing in the last couple of years have been the biggest skanks if you know what I mean.. but I suppose they may raise the bar just that little bit higher.
I've got the hair appointment all sorted, getting the waxing done a few days before I go and I've been absolutely working my ass off at the gym and training. So all that's really to do is get some outfits and good shoes and nice make up and hair products sorted out and practice my routine in front of the mirror which feels ridiculous but works!
I've contacted a few clubs and one of the top clubs only charges 65 pound per night plus 15 pound tip out which is only 80 pound per night and equal to 4 dances, so I guess whatever you make after that is yours. I don't think that's too high, but when you start talking about percentages that could get a bit out of hand. I tried working in Brisbane at 50-50 and that sucked big time.
I think its also partly up to us to get the boring Poms out of thier shells a bit too! Sometimes when the customers get picky, I think its got a lot to do with attitude as well because I've also seen them here on the Gold Coast pick apart a top looking girl and favour a very average girl because they love the personality. I don't mind a bit of competitiveness in a club as it keeps me working harder, but I will also check out some of the clubs outside London a bit because the accomodation might not be so crazily priced.
I think if it turns out not to be so fantastic, I may just jet off to another area and try it there. Like Iceland or something, I don't know! Would love to go to Italy or Germany too. But not planning on doing the stripping long term, just get my travel money together and see all those wonderful places.

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
When I say look good, try to make sure your clothes are nice, your skin and hair is nice, make up is good and that you generally take care of yourself. High end clubs won't hire you if you don't look the part. From a lot of the dancers I've seen, not all of them are so beautiful. It has a lot to do with their air and their attitude. I was a customer in Spearmint Rhino in London and this is what I witnessed. Whatever you do though, don't get sucked into ANY club drama, especially when it's among competitive girls.
I should be going to Stringfellows in March for the first time, but only as a customer. I'll let you know how the club shapes up and if the girls are making money.
I would love to dance in Russia because when I was dancing for the Euro, I made a ton of money from the Russian men. I know Janet books it but I just can't go for as long as they want. Therefore my next bet would be Germany or Norway. I hear they adore dark skin.

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Yes elegant long evening dresses is the word on the streets about London ;)
You might want to think about trying some of the clubs in smaller towns also, I hear they can be a bit more relaxed and still profitable. Plus living expenses wouldn't be as high.
Stupid question but you do have a work visa right?

Hey, were not all boring you know! ;)

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Aussie Punk Shocker - - - Okay, maybe the boring Pom comment is a little harsh. And I really shouldn't make that call anymore considering I am half British and now have my U.K passport sorted out, technically making me a British Citizen! Which also answers Krys's question of the visa - - - I don't need one! Which is great!
Malibu - - - I understand what you mean now... no dirty scrubbers! Well that is lucky for me. Although I don't really spend a great deal of time with personal maintenence usually, I polish up quite alright so I think I can deal with the glamour for a while, I find it fun too. I'm not a big girl but not tiny either (only really an Australian size 9) but I have really good clear and smooth skin (except for some fricking stretch marks which I'm still deciding how to cover... but hopefully I can get away with it), getting a nice tan in the Australian summer too!... only little boobies though but they are a nice shape - quite perky, haha. As far as hair and make up goes, personally I am hopeless at doing this myself because I can't use the hair dryer to blow dry! But once I get the hair appt. sorted I will maybe get a few tips and hopefully there will be people helping out in the clubs I dance in? Fingers crossed!
I actually contacted Stringfellows about thier audition dates and will certainly give it a shot. The lady sounded quite nice but I know what house mums can be like... I danced at Spearmint Rhino in Melbourne for a few nights once and didn't mind it but then changed to the Men's Gallery as I found it easier to make $. But different place altogether.
The last time I danced I didn't really get involved with the club dramas. I am going to have enough of my own coming all the way from Oz to UK and don't want to deal with extra. The worst drama I ever had dancing here was that the other girls in the clubs who weren't making any money got annoyed and went a bit psycho because I was actually one of few who were working hard and making money. That sucks. But what can you do? And I don't drink on the job or do any sort of drugs so I hopefully will be alright. Might see you at Stringfellows if I am successful?! LOL

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Hi Girls,
Just another question... this may sound a little silly but I will ask anyway!
I have phoned some clubs in UK to ask how much it is per dance and most of them say it is 20 pounds per dance. But just how long does ONE dance go for? Is it one song or is it three? I really should have asked when I was on the phone but I forgot! Silly me... I was having some of my blonde moments. There must be a general consensus with these things.
Where I have worked in Australia, danced were charged by the minutes or by the hours - like $50 for 15 minutes, that sort of things.
If you know, please tell me!

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
They generally do dances by minutes (3 minutes for a £20 dance - a rip off in my humble opinion since in London, they enforce airdancing). In Spearmint Rhino clubs, all the songs are timed. They have a man go round to check on who's dancing during each song (for commission purposes). I'm not sure on the specifics, but generally, these things will slightly vary from club to club. The timing of dances tends to be stricter in the more upscale clubs though (you'll get what I mean when you arrive).
When you do get to the UK, let me know. x

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Just wondering if I should take a rug over to UK with me?
I hate getting bruises on my knees!!! But it might be a bit much to carry it around and may get extremely filthy! They are nice to dance on though!
Geez, I dunno chickies..
Also buying some jewellery to go with my evening dresses, do you think diamante necklaces/ jewellery are tacky, or ok if done less chunky? I don't want to look like a hoe.
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
i took my rug to japan, never used it once, and had to throw it out coming home cos i was over baggage weight :(
diamonte jewlery is nice, get EITHER a large chocker, and 2 small wrist ones. or a small 3 row chocker and 2 large wrist cuffs 8rows.
dont get 3 large pieces tho, THAT looks silly
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Agreed. Don't go overboard on the sparkles. They look like trashy trinkets if you do. Just a few eye catching accessories. I will normally wear sparkly earrings so I can play with my ears sexily when flirting with customers or I wear a diamonte belly chain which looks great on especially when I'm naked. A few things will help make you stand out.
And about rugs, you don't have to bring one. If you work in a club where you want to use one, I'm sure you can buy a cheap one whilst there. Will save you carrying a heavy one when you may not need it.
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Yes, don't want to go around looking like a trashy whore unless of course I am going to be one. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Just kidding, cheers for the info girls.

Ohmygod Chickies,
One More Week To Go. I Am Stressing Big Time!!!!
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Nothing to stress about baby. Everyone will be nice to you there, and theones who arent are not worth bothering about.
If you need advice you'll always find girls in the club who will tell you the ropes.
If you get into SPearmint watch out for a little blonde french dancer who always wears the most highest heels you have ever seen. Her boyfriend is one of the bouncers there (hes Eastern European) and if she doesnt like you she'll make sure her man treats you like crap every time your in the lapdance room. Nobody talks to her so you'll know who it is.
And if Elaine the housemom auditions you dont say too much. She likes to dominate and can smell crap on anyone a mile away! Lol
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Better go in when Elaine's not there then...haha!!!
What sort of crap would she be sniffing me for?
-
Re: Dancing in London and Europe

Re: Dancing in London and Europe
Thank you all girls. As I have said, very very nervous but I am getting really good advice here from many people which helps a lot.
I really have to make the most of it I think. You only get one chance in life, sometimes two if you are lucky! And I doubt there will be many more times for me to do this again, especially such a big trip like this - from Australia to London. I want to settle down soon, and have a family... so this is my way of trying to set us up something a little bit more secure.
It is so hard to get ahead over here, anywhere in fact! I am just going to give it my all..that's all I can do. But at the same time I want to have a bit of fun whilst doing it. You only live once!
