Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
rach you understand completely. but you guys are completely right, i just need to DO IT.
im going there in about an hour and im pretty hyped now so i'll definatly try.
it sounds pathetic, im just used to being surrounded by friends so i feel like a bit of a loner here which makes me really self concious.
missh20, its ok - i know you what you mean. i do want to be doing it though, most parts of dancing i really enjoy. im just a bit worried im not very good at it, but... i know, i know that its also practice etc and i'll get betteer if i try, so i will!
gcgirl, you always write the best reports about clubs and responses to everything! - so detailed. haha, anyways, thanks. your idea about pushing $50 dances is good, im siock of 20's. whats the point. i really want to try the fantasy dances too though!
anyways, im off to read hustle hut...
how do i get an apartment? where do i look? you guys will know this stuff because your big girls :P

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
Oh sushidoll i'm so excited for you. Bar20 was going to be my first choice for a club but i think it's a bit intimidating. I have so much shit to sort out before starting - especially to do with travelling back and forth from home because i live so far away from the city and my parents would discourage me from doing it should they find out. The whole reason i want to start is so i can move out of home so it's like a catch 22 but it's hard to do it because i live so far away.
If you're going to be working there on the 19th of March i'll come and visit you. My friends and i were planning on going to Bar 20 for my birthday and if you're there i'd much rather give you my money than some other girl, especially with everything you've been through lately.
domain.com.au and realestate.com.au have rental listings and sharehouse listings and also flatmates.com.au or flatmatefinder.com.au or something along those lines.
Good luck!

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
Sushi, how about trying Dallas Dancers? Mariekitten works there. They have low house fees.
I turn 21 on the 19th. I'm broke as a joke till then. I dont think i could start work yet i've been sick recently and my energy levels are still low. I'm probably end up passing out on someone. Aiiee.
Ohh i wish you the best of luck though with whatever you decide to do. And if you go back to Tas come and visit Melbourne soon!

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
Sushidoll, what is it that's driving you to do stripping? Some girls just arn't cut out for this job but if it's really what you want to do then you just have to take the situation by the horns!!! If not, don't torture yourself and find something else - you can always try stripping again later!
I'm EXTREEMLY shy and the hardest part of the job for me was and still is going up and talking to guys. However it gets so easy after a while I just make myself do it even though I'm still a shit hustler. Often guys will ask you for a show if you just talk to them for a few minutes, so dont worry and if they dont in the meantime you will gain more confidance and social skills to prepare you for future "victims" (-: You only need to make basic conversation and I promise that after you've done it a handful of times you will be able to do it confidantly without thinking for ever more!!! It can be very hard in the beginning but once you start making money you will feel great! I sometimes think it's a bonus not knowing anyone funnily enough... Hope Wednesdays good for you!

What has been the club's atmosphere? Has it been slow or busy? What are the customer's like? Old men, young men, middle aged, businessmen? Or a bit of everything? Give the customer what they want, be aware of how you approach these men based on thier appearance, if they look a bit yobbish, don't approach them acting too sophisticated because you will intimidate them..etc. Old men often don't like to take really really young girls for dances because it makes them feel like they are paedophiles dancing with their grand daughters.
Also, are there too many girls on per night here? Does this intimidate you? Men's Gallery and Spearmint Rhino are good clubs but I think there are so many girls on per night. Don't know about Bar 20 though. Be natural, guys can see straight through when a girl is pretending to be nice, or interested in what they are saying. Sit down with a customer and enjoy a conversation with them, truly and honestly. You have to build a rapport with them, so they trust you a little bit and don't feel like you are only after their money (even though you are!)
The $50 dance option is way better. Sell this to them, because really a one-song dance is over in no time, and as you say, 'what is the point?'.

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
tears, im not really going home - i really want to - but im not, unless i totally cant afford to stay in melbourne (seems very possible.)
i think if i went to a differant club id just have the same problems.
aussiepunkshocker, im glad im not the only one! i know i sound (am?) totally miserable right now, but usyally i love dancing............ im not shy at all when i dont feel so self concious! and i really would do something else instead, actually im going to... i just want to make enough money to go to shanghai (my closest friend is living over there and id much rather be with her than in aus) and work (maybe dancing, proberbly not).
i have no problem sitting and talking to guys, but i just talk, and theyre never interested in dances and sometimes i dont even ask!
the other girls are really flirty and sit on the gus laps and hardly talk to them befpre they get them to dances!
missh20, i think the clubs been pretty busy (for me anyways!) its a really big club so theres lots of girls working but theres not of customers too so its not lke compeditive (id die if it were!) .....
most of the customers are very yobbish! or very average. the more bussiness type i think go to spearmint rhino? and i think its r4eally hard to get in there (theyre all worldclass ex model superstrippers, no?) and ive heard mens gallery takes % or something?
i find the old guys seem to like me better than the younger ones, maybe not though?
where do you workl? melbourne?
thats what ive been doing, sitting down and having honast relaxed normal conversations with them... and they LIKE me, im just not SEXY or something? like theyre never interested in the dances. the other girls just sit on their lsps and wostper something to them or talk for like two secounds and they just out of their chairs in to go dance? :S

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
I'm a shit hustler as well...I'm a fairly outgoing person, but I don't generally like going up to people and asking for money. I'm better onstage than I am hustling, when I sit down with people I end up conversing instead of selling more often than not, or waiting till they actually ask me. I've found that as long as I'm friendly and a bit flirty they usually end up asking me for a show. If they haven't asked me after a few minutes then I'll just bite the bullet and ask them. If they say no then I smile, say "alright, have a great night!" and move on. But I'm only dancing twice a week so it's not as stressful I suppose.
Good luck with it all Sushidoll! :)

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
GOOD GIRL SUSHI DOLL! AND GOOD ON YOU BELLA FOR HELPING OUT!
Sushi, when I went to Spearmint Rhino there were a lot of business type men, but as for the girls, sure some were nice looking but not all of them. When I danced in Men's Gallery they just charged a house fee, no percentage, but I suppose things change. You could always phone to ask.
As for being sexy, I don't think it was a matter of you not being sexy at all. When the girls sit on the guys knees and whisper to them, they are probably saying something like: "Come out the back with me and I'll show you my pussy". Sitting on the customer's lap isn't really classy and I'm not sure how lenient Bar 20 is... but my guess is that if the customers are yobs then that is all it would take to get them out of thier chairs.
Problem with that is, don't expect the customer to extend the dances too far on accounts that being a dirty hoe can only get you so far and some men like it when the girl leaves a bit to the imaginationi. But it works for some girls.
I have worked on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane and for a short time down in Melbourne but at the moment I am not stripping in any clubs! On the 13th of March I am going to London to try my luck in the big city, so hopefully I will have a successful trip. It has been a while since I danced last but I'm hoping that I can get back into it quickly and efficiently as I like to think I did alright when I was dancing last time.
You have to adapt very quickly if you change your location. Figure out what is working for other people and try to do what they do plus do a bit of your own thing to make you stand out in the crowd.
You'll do fine Sushidoll.

Please call me ok if your lonely and if you want to stay longer in Melbourne and save some of that money we have an extra room at our place. (you do seem like a loverly girl) Just let me know, Id love to help you out.
Mermaid, no didnt do Indy, but am thinking about it again...as usual this time of year. lol
Grand Prix is going very well this year, although there are quite a few Dry spells where the guys just clam up and perve and the rooms are empty???::)
I really hate waiting those out, but try not to go hard and get to many knock backs during them!
Anyway, going for more sleep, see you tnight Sushi!
:-* :-* :-* all!

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
aww bella how sweet are you :D that is soooo nice!
and your not rushing off you helped lots :) !!
haha im still not suree about that outfit. cherry agreed with me that the pants are a little granny - like all the pants in japan!
but i love the top because it has poodles and melody signs ..... if thats the outfot you even mean!
i think i did well lastnight - you guys would still laugh but im happy enough :p !
i got top go downstairs, to the fantasy rooms, lastnight finally ......... wasnt really worthe it though because the girl i chose to bring with me (two guys - asked me to bring a friend) ran off to do a podium while we were waiting for a room so i was left with the guys, who were getting mad for like half an hour waiting then when sjhe came back we - we did the whole french maid thing - she cut the dance short half way though?! wierd.... ANYWAYS..
rach, how are you doing? havent heard any info for a while!
im hungry.

Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
well, lastnight all went well untill i got fired!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh my god. just my luck.
wasnt anything personal anyways, i didnt do anything wrong, they just decided to fire all the new girls? ok.
anyways, no big deal - i'll go to goldfingars tomorrow. . . .
just crappy because i was starting to get used to itr and all and make some moneys.
-
Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
ha sushi! thats rediculas!?! omg i cant spell..anyways...
goldfingers is a wicked club too...youll be fine there. same kind of hussle.
wasnt it grand prix this weekend??? was that why you all got fired?
-
Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
Oh nooo! Thats terrible.
My guy friends went to Goldfingers last night. I'm going to ask what they thought of it since i've never been there.
-
Re: Australia - Sydney, Melbourne, Goldcoast
That's really lame for them to fire without good reason. What a shit of a club! You don't need to work at a club like that if that is the case. Did they say anything about coming back at another time?
Although I have not been there, if it was me, my next place to go would be Goldfingers as well. MG's is a completely different formula - really hectic and quite dark, and I don't particularly like table top dancing (love the stage though!). Spearmint Rhino is good for that.
Fill us in on how Goldfinger's goes Sushidoll!
Miss H
