Only tan sporadically and a few mintes at a time.Red haired people have a highest risk for melanomas.A good friend of mine had to get some removed from her boobs. She is a natural redhead.
DO you tan? I mean, will your skin tan at all? If not, dont bother.
If you do choose to, BE CAREFUL, and go little by little. Redheads as well as natural blondes (myself) burn easily. I can tan some, but I have to be careful when I'm first starting out - my skin will FRY.
The best way to tan for a redhead in my opinion is to use the regular bed for 5 mintes at the most, then go in the Mystic Or Magic Tan booth.I am opening a salon at the end of this year, beginning of next year, and I have done extensive research. The truth is also if you are too fair and don't have enough pigment in your skin to begin with, you will not tan under UV rays at all.The only course of action you can take at this point would be the spray tan booths.
Fake baking? I wouldn't reccommend it. Maybe mystic tan...but it seems to me that naturally pale, redheads actually look better without the tan. That's just me, though. ;)
No VenusGoddess i think you are totally correct. I agree that redheads look better pale. I've tried being a redhead and it just dosen't work. The prettiest redheads i've seen have been white as snow.
thanks for the advice. I don't tan at all so self tanne would be the only option. I did an amatuer night and the manager asked if I tan I said no and he said I would make more miney I I had a tan. Just getting some opinions before I decide what to do.
I'm a fair-skinned redhead myself, and I get many compliments on my "porcelain" skin, or as one custy put it, my "Nicole Kidman" skin. ;D
While tan skin may mean more $$$ in general, I think redheads are the exception to that rule. Like the other gals have said, fair skin and red hair just go together, plus you'll have the advantage of a unique look if the other dancers in the club are all tan.
Please don't tan. You'll makes as much if not more than fake-baked chicks- all men wonder about redheads. Two of my pals are carrot-topped and freckled and I can never get over the novelty.
PS Fair flawless skin is an indicator of good health and youth, just as much as being toned and tan. Love your ginger self.
PPS If it's really an issue of pursuing image enhancement, grow your hair out longer and buy some extra makeup- metallic blues and greens compliment red hair and porcelain skin.
I have dyed red hair but the complexsion that most people assume it's natural. I tried to stay tan for years but my skin is just not meant for it and I also have a friend that had a melanoma removed. She is a natural strawberry blonde. I let my tan fade out and haven't been in about 5 months. I do use self tanner once or twice a week to cut the glare and it just makes me feel better. I haven't had any issues with not tanning moneywise. Most guys who like redheads like the whole look. Red hair, blue or green eyes, pale skin....they always want to count my freckles!!
I couldn't tan if I wanted to, and personally, I think Natural Redheads look a bit odd with tans, even if it's tan-in-a-can or whatever. It's just not normal to me.
When I danced it never hurt my earnings at all. I was unique to all the clubs that I worked in, the only pale natural redhead around. It just worked.
Besides, I stay out of the Sun altogether if I can help it. My father died from Melanoma at the age of 39 in 1990. I'm not looking to increase my risk any further.
Yeah, definatly DON'T tan. Not only will it not look right, but you'll get all wrinkly waaaay before your time. I'm not a redhead, but I never tan and have extremely pale skin (I'm probably the most pale girl at my club) and I've never had a guy tell me that I needed to tan. In fact, I've only had compliments on having such "creamy, flawless skin". You'll also stand out more since all the other girls at your club probably either tan or do the tan in a can.
Dont Tan!!! It will damage your skin far more than a dark haired person. And give you tons of freckles and sunspots on your face that you can only get removed by laser.
Ya know.. i dont see how trying a fake tan would hurt... you should goto wallmart and get the sublime bronze by lorielle *is what i use when im to lazy to go tanning* i use the gel..
just put it on wait a few hours and see if you like it or not.. it only lasts a few days
Agreed.Quote:

My little brother has the most amazing red hair that fiery colour and he has white skin, but if he goes in the sun too much he gets lots and lots of freckles, I would assume a solarium to give the same effect?
fairer skin on red heads is so much prettier.
thanks everyone. I think i'll give my fair skin shot. If it doesn't work then I'll get a tan in a bottle.
I personally dislike redheads with tans. I think the pale skin and the red hair go hand in hand, and such a skin tone has become trademarked to redheads. It looks great! I'm no longer a redhead, but I whiten my skin. Especially here in Tanland, er... Florida, I've become sort of a novelty. Sure, some guys think that all people MUST tan, but I honestly do get a lot of compliments to my "all over tanline". ;D
" all over tan line" thats cute never thought of it that way ;D
hey Emily I have pale skin and dye my hair red and i do good.
