Secure Copy and SSH into a web site
I am curious about the web site holders out here, since some of my best paying customers tend to be dancers with web sites.
I am planning on making my machines accessible only by SCP, SFTP and SSH protocols (instead of the usual telnet/ftp protocols.)
I was wondering if:
1) You know what those are
2) Are your web hosting companies enforcing such a connection policy?
Re: Secure Copy and SSH into a web site
I'm not a dancer with a web site (though I play one on TV ;) ) but I think most halfway decent hosting services offer those protocols in their web commerce packages.
Are there really companies that don't offer them?

My soon to be former webhost requires all of the above. I just use putty and WinSCP3 to connect. I don't know what my future hosts will require since I havn't found them but my business isn't a sexually-oriented one, although we do SSH payment transactions (or will soon).

SSH is pretty much a must these days. I have been using SecureFX for server connections for a couple of years now.
