Well, it's gotten worse. Here's a follow up storyQuote:

I guess some mom and pop video rental places better make sure that 90% of their titles are family friendly movies as opposed to the stuff in the back room.
The bill can be passed at the Senate level as soon as today, so all Missouri Resident's that oppose this bill call your senator and tell them to vote no on SB 32. I've been calling all month. If this passes into law the whole state will be Adult entertainment free. I really doubt any business will survive these restriction's.
Damn, Crazybob, this sucks! I have my fingers crossed for you, and the state of Missouri...
Let us know what happens (of course I can probably find out myself with a little effort).
I don't know which political party was primarily behind this, and it doesn't really matter. We as industry members need to become more active and assertive in opposing this kind of legislation. Once it goes into effect in Missouri, more incentive will be there for the Bible-beaters and moral majority/family values people in other states to turn up the heat.
Any politician, of any party, who includes censorship or restrictive moral values in his platform, should be vigorously opposed by us all. Here in Michigan it's the Governor, a Democrat who caught her husband in a stripclub. Now there are severe laws in effect in Detroit, which are driving the dancers that much closer to the status of being prostitutes and sexual offenders in the eyes of the law.
On one hand, it's good news for me since I work on the Kansas side (Missouri customers might be more likely to cross the state line). On the other hand, if this bill passes, then it's just setting a bad example for all the other states....
Yes, but I fear that a lot of Missouri dancers will most likely be coming with them, or will make club owners in KC start looking for spots to build new clubs in Northeast Kansas. Lest I checked, it was the "ruralization" of adult businesses (namely in counties which can't afford the legal fight) which prompted this fundy state senator in MO to propose this stupid bill to begin with.Quote:

Man, that's scary.... I live in Topeka and am trying to get a job here. If all the Missouri strippers come here I won't have a chance. Though there are about six sc's here in Topeka already, I couldn't take professional competition :(
