Clothes, clothes, clothes! Help please?
I can't, for the life of me, pick a few outfits to start out with - I've been shopping but just can't decide on a good couple of mini-dresses and a few ontsage outfits. (I'm so NOT a clothes shopper)
I'm 5'4", 130 right now (working on losing some weight). I have my first pairs of shoes picked out, I just need some clothes to go with them. I'm afraid nothing I get is going to look good on me.
Its not a great picture attatched, but it gives you an idea of my skin tone and approx. size. Some ideas/suggestions/links of clothes you like - would be awesome. Thanks =)
BTW- If you have either of these pairs and the suck/hurt/ whatever - please let me know.:P

Here's a tip: if you have great boobs, find something to show them off...same goes with great ass, or legs. Find something to hide what you dont like and that brings out your best features. Bras are good great boobs (no tube top for natural breasts), booty shorts look best on round firm butts, and skirts or dresses for legs. Only wear pants if your legs suck.
Your hair looks like it's dark so wear bright colors, dark colors will only make fade in the background. Inspire yourself from your personal style... play around. If you have a great big smile while trying on an outfit, that's probably the one you shoud get.
Good luck sweetie!!

I have the same cone heels from Snazz75, but I got the ones with the ankle strap. THey ROCK! I have a pair or pleaser stillettos similar to the first ones you showed, and the cones are much easier to walk and dance in. I would go withthe cones, but for your first pair, I think you should get the ankle straps rather than slip ons. THe straps are clear, so they won't make your legs look chopped off.

I wouldn't tell her that, I have real boobs and mine look awesome in a tube dress.
Yes, pick a shoe that has a strap till you get more used to them, and try maybe a 4 inch heel to start with.
And also pick outfits that are easy to get on and off till you get used to the shoes. You don't wanna be onstage trying to get nakkie, and fall on your ass.

LOL.
Nakkie.
Yea, I need some velcro style clothes that just rip off with as clumsy as I am.

When it comes to tube dresses, I think it depends on how toned your arms are. This is because if there is a little bit of unfirm skin, under neath your shoulder area ,the top tube part tends to emphasize it. This is kind of hard to explain but i know what I am visualizing lol.

I suggest avoiding shoes with clear plastic over your feet when you are starting out. They don't give at all, can make your feet sweat and I found them tricky at first.
That said, a couple of my favorite shoes were the clear kind after I had been dancing for awhile.
I think the ever popular little school girl or cheerleader would be great for a casual look for you.
Try shops like Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, etc. for some dressier stuff. If you are in Houston or Dallas, there are tons of "Exotic Cabaret" type stores there with a bunch of cool stuff. I was just in one yesterday (in Houston) and was happy to see prices were pretty low.

Try outfits on with the shoes on - it makes a huge difference in how you look. Can you get someone to go with you...for a second opinion?

Re: Clothes, clothes, clothes! Help please?
I would go with a little mini skirt...but that is longer than the traditional dancer skirts....depends on where you work...see what the girls wear there and then decide on an outfit that is similar but esenuates what you've got and hides what you don't like. Be reminded here that guys like girls with some cushion...at least every guy that i've met has said that they prefer a girl with some curves to a girl who is straight...it is all about proportions apparently. Don't worry about your weight...what you want to loose will come off within a few months of dancing if not sooner.
I've also had guys say that they like a girl to actually have something to take off on stage rather than just go on almost naked to begin with.......but again...these are all opinions straight out of guys mouths.
Good luck and hope you find something that works well! try a boys...(wife beater shirt) and a jean mini skirt....you can cut up a pair of pants that you own to make it.....it's cheap and guys think it's hot....and you can tuck up or cut off the shirt to show off your belly and cut a V in it so it shows your breasts off.

If you are just starting out you may want to start out with a thicker heel. Especially if you arent used to dancing in 6 inch spikes :)http://www.snaz75.com/pl-sparklette-610.html

Re: Clothes, clothes, clothes! Help please?
I think you'll find the shoes without an ankle strap difficult to dance in (I STILL can't dance in them without them slipping off!) And I've found that the style of these http://www.snaz75.com/el-678-jayden.html with the ankle strap so high are hard to walk in. Straps similar to what ksalerio posted are the easiest.

It might be good to start out your wardrobe with some triangle tops and booty shorts. A good source for those is trashy.com. Their prices seem more expensive, but do a search for booty shorts and triangle tops, and you'll come up with $5.00 triangle tops, booty shorts are $9.00 i think, and thongs are $4.00. You can always add a rhinestone belt or a shrug from a store like charlotte russe to that to make an outfit. Grab some dangly, shiny earrings too. They are an inexpensive way to make yourself look feminine and draw attention to your pretty face.
Shoes... you'll probably die with the spikes. Get a chunkier heel--the shoes are hard enough to walk in as it is. It's easy to get enamoured with the cool designs they have out there, but I"d go for comfort. The spike ones you like with the single strap over the toes will cut your poor feet to bits after six hours of dancing. IMO, go for a chunky heel, open toed, with a strap that buckles.
Best shoes I've found by far are Dallas Heights by Mooi, designed BY a dancer, FOR a dancer. They have a different angle from ball of toes to ball of heel so it's easier to balance in them, and the front part of the shoe (which is where your feet will get cut and blistered) is well placed and actually comfortable. I had the same shoes in Jante and Dallas Heights... and had blisters and numb toes after the Jante's.... totally different story with the Dallas Heights. They're built for comfort. I kid you not. I have FINALLY found a cheap source for them and am happy to share.... http://www.electriqueboutique.com/wo...thing/7-1.html
You've got a great body, girl. Much luck to you!
