Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
This is just something that randomly annoys me. Why do clubs have minimum tip-outs for djs, floorguys, whoevers, if those people are going to bitch when you give them the minimum? I usually find out about this in the form of a warning from other people: "oh, the minimum to the housemom is $5, but give her at least $10 or she's unhappy."
Why not have minimums that will make them happy and leave it up to them if they want to take pity on you on a dead night? :P
Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
i would like to answer to your question but i can't (i do it allready) because i have no expiriences in house fees pff i am so happy with that.
but i think ... when they say that you have to give 10$ they will be more friendly to you inside the club... oh this is money politics bah everything about the money to make people more friendly/happy so they help you in your work or what??? maybe the dj playes better songs or say nice thinks while you are dancing??? or the bartenders say to the customer (when they ask who is the best dancer) oh that girl (yeah right why...? she must be the big tips/fee spender at the club?)
Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
I understand the whole "you tip more and I'll help you more." But I don't understand that if the minimum isn't enough to at least garner you apathy from whoever you are tipping, why not just raise the minimum?
Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
because no one wants to take the "minimym".. people feel like that's an insult.. just like when you tim the minimum 10% in a resataurant or when a guy gives you the minimum $20 per dance. You still want more, like a bigger tip.. If they raised the minimums people will still be unhappy and want more, more, MORE!!
Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
It's one of those Damned If You Do, Damned If You Dont things, IMHO. I mean, we as dancers usually have a set price for lap dances, but we'd love to get more, right? Some DJs dont get paid by the house, some do, but either way they'd like to get as much as they can. So would we, or wait staff, bartenders, etc... but it's when they try to play you for your cash that I get pissed. To wave their friendship with you in your face to make a buck... feh.
Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
See it like this.... 2 examples
A customer who gives you everytime 50 $ because he likes you a lot and suddently he gives you only 10$ don't you think....
"hey what's up? /:O why only 10$? :'(
first of all you have to be glad he gives you tip even when it was only 1$
If you was a dj and there are two dancers who breaks your nervs and give you a hard time...
one of them gives you everynight
20 $ the other only
5$ with which one you would not care so much about breaking your nervs????
If you tell us the dancer with the 5$ see the picture

Re: Why have a minimum that isn't enough?
I hate minimums. They tend to expect more, like a lot more. In one club, I had to fork over about 50% of the money I earned for everyone to be happy and help me with customers.
I feel awful that you only get $10 from a $20 dance.
