Floor Host tip-outs- what to give
in my short time dancing thus far i've been in the back rooms a decent number of times. sometimes i swung it on my own, other times i've had tip-offs from floor hosts who tell me something like, "customerX just bought 3,000 in funny money", or they will point me out to a customer that is known to spend $$$.
the private rooms are 400/hr, for the dancer. i have been giving the damn hosts 100 of that each time i was in the back. i had a chat with the makeup artist the other night and she told me that most of the girls give the hosts 40 if they help get them into the room, and nothing if they didn't help. what are the basic guidelines here? i certaintly don't want to stiff anyone; which would lead to floor hosts ignoring me when they have good customers. but of course i don't want to overtip, either. this is a top-notch, upscale club in a big city. anyone in a similar type of club please let me know the standard tip outs for this!

It is common courtesy to tip out the floorman/bouncer at least $20 if he helps you score a VIP.$100 is way too much.$20 to one person is plenty. After all,we are the ones having to babysit and put up with bullsh*t.

Re: Floor Host tip-outs- what to give
Hi there,
I work at a similar club. The champagne room is $300 per half hour, and we're "expected" to tip 10% ($30) to the host of that room. If someone besides the host helps me find a customer for that room, I usually tip them, too... around $20. But 10% always goes to the host. In general, I think the 10% rule applies all around. i.e. If a host points me in the direction of someone who spends $100 in the VIP, I'll tip that host $10.
Re: Floor Host tip-outs- what to give
When I've worked at those clubs, I've asked the customer to tip-out the host. If its $200 for 30 mins, I would get custy to give me an extra $20, so I guess 10%. $100 if WAAAAAAY too much but it might get you some hookups in the future. But if you keep giving that much its going to majorly cut into your PM.
If the host goes the extra mile and I make FAT cash, I've been known to give more. On one $800 room for me, I had the customer give him $100 and I threw in an extra $50 because he really took great care of us.......
