Re: Making bank w/out hustling
I just wanted to mention that I'm not "top 5" because I'm that fine:) No, my club has a serious lack of good looking women, and the few we have tend to get too drunk on a regular basis. So, because of that, I make money very easily. I've had to work hard for my money in other clubs, but my current club and Big Louie's in Missouri were cake for $$!!
Re: Making bank w/out hustling
I think it's odd that a few people have equated hustling with just going up to talk to a customer. At my club, you only get dances by asking customers. You can't just sit back because they will go with someone else who approached them. Some do the tacky "do you want a dance?" all around the room while others have different tactics. The heavy hustlers can get guy after guy to go with them after just a quick moment and bank nightly I can't do that (yet?) so I end up going more for a personal approach by sitting and some casual chatting.
In the end, I still usually have to ask for a dance but I get complimented by guys that I don't hustle. That's fine if they care to think that, but the bottom line is I'm trying to sell them a dance and I probably wouldn't chat if I wasn't. Subtle selling is still selling.
Oh, and I like the term "nudging" over "hustling." :)

Re: Making bank w/out hustling
I think one reason for the confusion/miscommunication about "hustling" has to do with the different meanings of the word. A slang meaning is to pressure or deceive, as in something a pool hustler might do. We take that to refer to hard selling. I prefer to consider another meaning of the word hustle, as in to gain by energetic effort, like what they say in sports: "that player has hustle". What I often see in clubs is that the most beautiful dancer doesn't think she needs to 'hustle' because of her beauty and can just sit around and wait for customers to approach her. In fact, some pretty dancers are also ironically a little shy about going up to a stranger. So in my view a lack of hustle is more like laziness. If you want to work hard, you've got 'hustle'. You're out there working the floor, not necessarily doing high pressure selling, just working hard and not giving up or sitting around.
Re: Making bank w/out hustling
Me, I hustle pretty hard. I feel no guilt about being pushy with customers, and I really don't mind the guys that say they don't like it. Honestly - I have never, ever seen a club where the pushiest girls don't make the most money. I doubt there is a low pressure chick, regardless of how good looking or charming she is that wouldn't make more money with high pressure. I am also "girl next door" - I'm pretty enough, but certainly not so that you would stare on the street but I do tend to make more money than better looking girls. Also, though I am happy with $300.00 at this point in my career, I am not thrilled and walking with $150 I am very not happy indeed. On the other hand, if you are happy with your income and your job, that is the best way to be. Rock on with your bad self.
Re: Making bank w/out hustling
Hustling, selling, whatever you want to call it, is needed to make bank (as the lady Emily stated). It is essential to be friendly and mingle with the customers--I mean, really, who wants to go to a stripclub only to have to chase some high and mighty girl around? I'm sure lots of men who go to stripclubs can just go to a regular bar to do that. We are selling fantasies, and being friendly is part of it. We don't want to hound the custy the second they walk in, but we don't want to play hard to get, either--save that for dating.
Being pretty certainly will get you far in this image-oriented business, but being pretty on the inside, too, will get you even further.

I had a guy tell me not long ago that he thought strip clubs were a waste of money because if he went to a regular bar he could probably just spend $20 buying her drinks and get the girl to go home with him for the night.
Re: Making bank w/out hustling
I work at a bigger club that has 80% hottie percentage. With that said, you HAVE to work to make money. And I HATE it. I hate any sales job, but I do it because if I don't I won't make any money at all. Here is where the difference is for me though...alot of the "hustling" in my club is more than just talking. I have seen somethings that I'm sure alot of girls aren't willing to do just to get a dance. Whats the difference in being social and talking to someone to see if they want a dance versus grabbing some customers package or behind to get dances for a $100? How do I make the big bucks with out lowering my standars?

The key word is PROBABLY. There is no sure fire guarantee he will have to "just" spent $20 and 'get' the first girl he does this with/to... Besides, there are girls out there who will flirt for drinks and never intend to go home with anyone except her female mates.
The ones that say this type of stuff and are WITHIN a strip club when they say it obviously can't guarantee themselves such a thing.... hence (esp. in a full nude club where there is nudity on stage) they will go to a strip club and be cheap (just a having a look).
He can pay $30 more (at my club) and definately get to see and feel what a beautiful woman is all about..... that's a guarantee.
Re: Making bank w/out hustling
You're very lucky that you don't consider what you do to be hustling. It works out very well for you that you don't feel burnt out at the end of the week! It actually sounds as though you DO hustle, but you don't have to try quite as hard as some of your co workers. With me, it's a luck game. I hustle (or at least try) and sometimes hit up a guy who wants 10 or more lapdances, and there are other times when I talk to all the wrong guys. Sucks for me because my clubs i small.
