Interesting device. Cool product idea...should have a dial on the side to filter out whatever channel you don't like
Kinda not useful tho...I prefer to hear the opponents opinion then debate it with facts. The one with the most logical approach and most access to factual evidence can box in any limited-base opponent.
My FOX blocker was a throw cushion over my ears and rolling over on the futon, or talking my conservative ex into the bedroom. That was cheaper.
Max...if every conservative had someone like you to distract them, there'd BE NO FOX CHANNEL
I recommend BBC and News International for the viewer looking for the real story. I'm objectively aware of Liberal Bias on CNN.
Seems like most newscasts today are tear-inducing.......I read Yahoo! News on days when it's too much.
Most if not all newscast are becoming less news more like EXtra or entertainment news all the time.
I like Fox, it appears to be the most unbiased news source available on my tv. The other sources, such as CNN and NBC, are based on selective inclusion of facts, which appears to be what your opinion is based on as well. I want to know all the facts, which is why I watch FOX. If you choose to only listen to some facts and base your opinion on those, then you can't possibly have come to a reasonable conclusion on any news events. This leads me to believe that you are an unreasonable person, and therefore, not worthy of opinion at all. But I think my psychology book will tell me that anyway, right under the topic of mental illness: sociopaths.
I would respond but I'm laughing too hard . . .
The most unbiased source available on my tv is when its off. I should remind myself to get on my high horse and downgrade to basic cable.Quote:

::)
And speaking of which (boldface emphasis by me)...
From the article:
Kimery says he has sold about 100 of the little silver bits of metal that screw into the back of most televisions, allowing people to filter Fox News from their sets. The Tulsa, Okla., resident also has received thousands of e-mails, both angry and complimentary, as well as a few death threats since the device debuted in August.
Fox? Unbiased????? BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!
You cannot be that naive, can you?
You need to see this film:

FOX is manipulative crap! Turn on the Lehrer News Hour if you want unbiased information.
So? What are you trying to prove?Quote:

NBC and CNN in my mind is the most manipulative. Selective omitting of facts is the most manipulative thing you can do. I will not be swayed by this technique. I don't attack your news sources, you stop attacking mine. But I forgot, I'm talking to devilsadvocate here....Quote:

The desire to have selective knowledge shows a character flaw- the 'plug my ears and go LALALALA!' character flaw for readily available information. I look at someone championing devices to encourage such behavior as being quite silly and immature.
I'd also say those 100 people buying the devices must live in trailer parks, low budget inner-cities or be unemployed losers. Every TV and cable box has parental controls to automatically lock certain channels from viewing, so he's providing a meaningless device. Moreover, most cable companies will also channel block upon request given how most cities have converted to digital cable (ala PPV-style signal), even if it's going into analog tuners.
So I see this device not actually being a consumer product, but instead a method of championing the desire to cover ones ears, eyes and mouth. This isn't something I've looked at Americans as having the historical desire for.
The futon and pillow method works much better anyways.. and is cheaper. }:D
[EDIT- We should all also be happy we don't live in Canada- where it's illegal to have a UHF style satellite dish as it will pick-up "non-government approved" sources of information. Having Fox, CNN, NBC, CBS, CSPAN and the like- as well as the ability to freely receive foreign signals, BBC/UK, Australian, and even middle-east Al Jazeera if one so wishes..]
All the mainstream media in the US is biased toward government.
Sadly, we have too many folks in this country who want their news to be a selective representation of facts. A through browsing of some of the links on this board would in fact reveal that.Quote:

Yes, but give the guy credit. He found a market demand for something and through his own innovation, he supplied a product to fill it, however stupid.Quote:

Much better IMO than sanctimonious whining or filing of lawsuits that I see some folks on the left resort to in order to achieve their ends. Hell, conservatives should be proud of this guy.
Well, he's only sold 100, so whether there is a real market demand for the product is yet to be known....Quote:

Proud? If that were my son, I would be embarrassed.
But if he had made the device to block CNN, and sold only five (three of them to his inbred cousins) that would be "real market demand" right?Quote:

Can you believe 5 million of these damned things were sold?
Actually, I would like to see proof of that.Quote:

1st of all; CNN is owned by a VERY conservative corporation and is about as benign as you can get. NBC and Brian Williams are now hard right loonies. In fact the GOP chairperson has sent out memos stating Brian Williams is their "go to" man on the networks.Quote:

This device is for idiots. The only device you need to block Faux News is called the 'channel up' button.
Doc is right when he compared this to the pet rock.
Each to his/her own opinion.....Quote:

Ps Sorry I had not seen doc's insightful post when I said that.
Opinion is valueless if it isn't represented by fact.Quote:
